00:00Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.
00:03A six-week consultation has started on a proposed order
00:06banning barbecues and open fires from all land in the Derbyshire Dales with public access.
00:11The proposal, which would mark an extension to Derbyshire Dales District Council's
00:16public space protection orders beyond land it owns and manages itself,
00:20would be debated by the Council on September 11th.
00:23In the meantime, anyone objecting to the proposal, including local landowners,
00:27can have their say by emailing pspo at derbyshiredales.gov.uk.
00:34New proposed areas covered include restricted byways, cycle tracks, footpaths,
00:40bridleways as well as highway verges.
00:43Public protection orders are aimed at ensuring that public spaces can be enjoyed
00:47free from antisocial behaviour and provide councils, through the imposition with fines,
00:51another way of dealing with persistent issues that threaten to damage the community.
00:55The latest consultation comes after barbecues and campfires were banned in part of the Peak District
01:00by High Peak Borough Council last month and after a series of wildfires across Derbyshire.
01:07A coffee giant is planned to expand its empire with a new outlet in North Derbyshire.
01:13An agent for Starbucks has applied to North East Derbyshire District Council for advertising consent for signs,
01:19including an illuminated nine-foot totem for the former Bywaters site at Brassington Lane in Craycloss.
01:25The proposal is for the north section of the new Eggstow Park development.
01:29Starbucks' plans to expand their operation in Derbyshire this year were unveiled in June,
01:34when an application for change of use for permission for the former old Frankie and Benny's restaurant
01:38on the Alma Leisure Park in Chesterfield was submitted to Chesterfield Borough Council.
01:42A recruitment drive is underway, with the company advertising for a store manager,
01:47a shift supervisor and a barista for this outlet on the Indeed website.
