00:05The only reason to persist with Ruben Amarim after his first few months was to give him a proper preseason.

00:10But Manchester United have failed to deliver.

00:12When Ruben Amarim returned to Carrington on Friday morning,

00:15he must have wondered whether his pre-summer parting message for Manchester United,

00:18to be really strong and to be brave, had been lost in translation.

00:40It is impossible to think this was the clear picture Amarim referenced at the end of May,

00:44or that he feels this is the best way to use every minute in every week of preseason.

00:52Manchester United are working against the clock and wasting precious time.
