At a House Judiciary Committee hearing on antisemitism last week, Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) pointed to examples of antisemitism from both the left and the right.
00:04Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
00:12You know, I have all sorts of notes on this, but I'm living it every day now.
00:19Every day.
00:21To be Jewish in this country now is an out-of-body experience on what's going on.
00:28You know, my grandmother escaped the Holocaust.
00:32She was part of the Kindertransport out of Germany.
00:34Parents were killed in Auschwitz, lost all sorts of other family in Poland.
00:39And this is not comparable to that.
00:43But the very beginnings of that are very comparable.
00:48Right? Because you've got to dehumanize them first.
00:52Right? You've got to make them others.
00:55You've got to make them feel like they don't belong.
00:57Right? You've got to make them feel, you've got to make other people feel, you've got to build coalitions, you've got to build consensus that, you know, the Jews don't belong.
01:10And I want to be clear.
01:11This theory out there that, oh, you can, you can be anti-Zionist or you can be anti-Israel and not be anti-Semitic.
01:20I would say that theoretically you could, but that is not what's happening.
01:25It is not what's happening.
01:27You can absolutely go criticize a government.
01:29Great. Wonderful.
01:30We do it here.
01:31But that is not what's happening.
01:34It wasn't what was happening on university campuses.
01:36I went to Columbia, I did Mr. Goldman, during Passover to be with those students.
01:41That was not what was happening when they were holding up signs saying, go back to Poland.
01:46It's nothing to do with Netanyahu.
01:49And people were silent.
01:50And Jewish families across the country knew the stuff that was going on college campuses, okay, if that was happening with any other minority group, it wouldn't have gotten past lunchtime on the first day.

02:10My kids, death threats against them.
02:12I had an assassination attempt by a resident, a guy that was picked up, going to go to jail for a decade, right?
02:19Had an anti-Semitic manifesto.
02:21My name was the target, was Googling where my wife worked, was Googling wind resistance and distance, had a scope, had a vest, had hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and had a sniper.
02:35So I know what's going on in this country.
02:40But I would tell you there is one thing that is uniting the left and the right, and that is Jews.
02:46This is not just a problem on the left.
02:49Go look what's going on on social media on the woke right.
02:53It isn't just some Nazis in a basement anymore, okay?
02:57Marjorie Taylor Greene is holding up the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act because she wants to be able to say the Jews killed Jesus.
03:03So this is a problem in both of our houses.
03:09And pretending it is not is one of the reasons why we're not cleaning it up.
03:13Because we're just saying, oh, you know, you over there or you over there.
03:17This is not going well for Jews right now.
03:23And it isn't getting better, by the way.
03:26We have not yet peaked to where this is going to go.
03:30And yet we can talk about the legacy media all day long, Mr. Schneider, but that's not where we're losing the youth of this country.
03:37We're losing them on TikTok, which is owned by a foreign country that the president now has extended beyond what the law has allowed.
03:45I don't want TikTok to go away, but I want it to get out of the hands of the Chinese, okay?
03:50They are doing the Nazi playbook.
03:53They are dividing us.
03:55They are fulminating.
03:55They don't need to do it with B-2 bombers.
03:58That's not what the Chinese plan is.
04:00The Chinese is to get us to fighting amongst ourselves.
04:03The Chinese plan is to get us angry and divisive.
04:06And the Chinese plan is to start with the easiest target possible.
04:10And that is us.
04:12And so until we stop doing this, you know, who did what to who stuff, okay?
04:19We're not going to solve this.
04:21Jews are losing their usual allies.
04:24Those allies that we've had for decades and decades and decades, groups that Jews have stood up for.
04:30We're losing them by the moment, especially amongst young people.
04:37So, you know, I'm called a foreign asset, right?
04:41That I'm a foreign lobbyist.
04:44I mean, it's just endless.
04:46Go look any post I put up, the hatred, the vitriol that's going on.
04:52And so I appreciate this hearing, Mr. Chairman, but this hearing ain't going to fix shit, okay?
05:00This is a virus that is spreading.
05:05And until we're serious about stopping what's going on online and the brainwashing of our kids, this is going to get worse.
05:14And more people are going to die in this country.
05:17And it is going to be us.
