00:00See, I have already mentioned our Honorable Prime Minister's view that India has to become a
00:09Viksit Bharat by 2047. So, copper plays a very important role in all industries, whether it is
00:15an automobile, whether it is AI, whether it is infrastructure, railways, metros, anything. You
00:23name anything, copper is used there. So, copper, in fact, is a very critical and strategic mineral
00:29as of now. And in the period of this Atma Nirbhar, when we are trying to become Atma Nirbhar,
00:34the path to Viksit Bharat 2047 of our Honorable Prime Minister becomes very important. And
00:41as Hindustan copper, my team members, all, whole HCL team is working very hard on it to ramp
00:48up the production from 4 million tons to roughly 12 million tons in coming six years. And on
00:54this ramp up of production, we think that we will try to suffice at least 5% of the needs
01:02which we are still sufficing because we are only capable of taking up the 5% of the need
01:07of the country. Just 95% of the copper is imported.
01:11Sir, earlier this year, there was an MOU signed between the HCL and what else was there?
01:19Talking about India, what benefits it will give to the country?
01:24I will mention that this historical MOU was signed in presence of our Honorable Prime Minister
01:29and the President of Chile on 1st April 2025. This MOU basically brings three strengths to Hindustan
01:38copper. The first strength is capacity building of the HCL employees. HCL employees getting the
01:44global best global practices and for which the team of Kodalko is already in India. They have made
01:50their visits in K3, Ghatshila and they are still in Malanjkar. The second one is depth exploration.
01:55We want to explore our properties beyond 1 km and for that the knowledge, the instruments
02:02and everything details Kodalko does have and I think they will tell us, they will guide us
02:06in this field. The third one is the formation of a JV which is still not very clear. It will
02:12be clear within coming 3-4 months once the delegations, they sit together and talk. So this is the best
02:18benefits which we will be getting from Kodalko.
02:29See as I mentioned, in coming 5-6 years, that is 30-31 I will be precise, we are reopening
02:35some mines, we are expanding Malanjkan, we are expanding the operations at K3 also. So
02:41all this capacity expansion and reopening of the mines in totality will bring you roughly
02:47about say 12 million tons of copper ore in 30-31.
02:51Sir, PM Modi has been pitching for women empowerment. What is HCL doing particularly in this?
02:59I tell you, I tell you, Hindustan copper is very proactive in this phase. You can see my
03:05head of communication sitting here. She is a woman. I am just quoting an example. We have
03:11taken mining engineers in the field of mining, field of geology and field of electrical and
03:17mechanical. They are working in my plants. They are visiting my mines. They are going underground
03:21also. So this is the level of women empowerment in Hindustan copper.
03:26Sir, regarding the Malanjkan plant, Sir, 48% of the water is being recycled. So, Sir, annually,
03:28if it is estimated, Sir, what would be the figures? Sir, as you mentioned, this 48%, this
03:45converts to roughly 20 lakh meter cube of water, which in coming 3-4 years, this water sources
03:56are from 3 places. One is mine dewatering. The other is from the tailing. There is a lot
04:02of water that comes from the tailing dam also. The third one is Banjar River. So from all
04:07these three sources, we get the water. And this 48% we are trying to enhance to 70% in
04:14coming 3-4 years. For this, we are making another pond, I should say. It is a pond which is being
04:20created very near to our mining site within 3-4 years. It will take some time. Designing,
04:26discussions are in progress. So once we order, it will take at least one and a half years to
04:30come. So overall in 3 years, once that pond or dam comes up, this 48% will go up to 70%. So
04:4078% will be recycling here itself. By next 3 years? Say 3-4 years. 3 years is our target,
04:46but definitely this involves land and other things. Within 3-4 years, that will be better
04:51to say. Any projects being implemented? Like currently, any projects under construction?
04:58See, recently we have constructed the paste-fill plant which you saw yesterday. That is very
05:04important. That is the lifeline of Malachkat. And we have envisaged to build up a new concentrated
05:11plant of 3 million tons, which will be coming up very shortly, within 2-3 years. Already the
05:17design part, the tender part is being done at Mekong. So by this year end, they should
05:23come up with the tender process. And once the work is awarded, within 24 months of the work
05:28award, a new concentrated plant, because mine is expanding, that new concentrated plant of
05:343 million tons per annum will come up. So what is SCN particularly doing in terms of
05:40environment preservation? See, as far as environment preservation is concerned, you must have seen
05:46the quantum of plantation which we have done, not only in the mining area, but in the localities
05:53also, nearby villages and all that. We are equally focusing on this plantation number one, creating,
05:59making some check dams to restore the water. So with this, we are creating and we are making
06:05our people also environment conscious. On the yoga day, we have distributed Ek Peda Makenam
06:12to all our township persons who are residing in their home and have requested them to plant
06:18it, water it and take a photograph of it and submit to the office. So that at least everybody
06:25knows what we are doing. Sir, when you come to CSR, in and around, sir, everywhere, the population
06:34is basically the tribal population. Sir, what the SCN is doing particularly?
06:42See, this Malanjhkhand mine itself is in tribal belt. All the villages nearby are from tribals. So we take up a lot of development works for them. We make ponds, we clean the ponds, we make some
06:54roads also, we make some lightening kileye kaam karte hai, unke livelihood me, and we take a lot of things, training programs, healthcare camps. Recently we had a big healthcare camp of TB last two months back. So even for skilling, reskilling if it is required, women empowerment also we take a lot of things as far as sewing machines are concerned, we give them free training programs we do for them so that they can be able to help you.
07:23so that they can become sustainable.
07:25So these things we are doing for the villagers.
