00:00Here in Taipei, some lucky people are getting to experience Nintendo's new Switch 2 console,
00:05which launches in Taiwan in just a few days on July 10th. People here were chosen through a
00:09lottery and can choose which games they'd like to try with a new console. Preview events have
00:14been held around the world over the past few months for this highly anticipated follow-up
00:17to Nintendo's Switch console, which was released in many other areas of the world a month ago
00:22and quickly became the fastest selling game console in the company's history.
00:26It has a larger screen and a faster processor than the original Switch, as well as redesigned
00:31controllers that can be used as a mouse and other new features. Gaming is very popular
00:37in Taiwan, with its gaming market worth billions. But a 2024 survey found gamers here much prefer
00:43mobile gaming rather than using a console, a growing trend worldwide. But still, many people
00:49here are big Switch fans and like experiencing the new features, even if they might take some
00:54things that I'm getting used to.
00:56The screen is very big. As I said, I feel like it's a little bit smaller. TheꝐč³Ŗ is
01:00a lot more.
01:01I think the game has become a lot more. Like in the past, it might be more simple. Like
01:06it might be more simple. Like now, there's a mouse and a camera. There's a lot of games that
01:13can be more fun. If you want to go to a party party, it might be more fun and fun.
01:21There's so much demand for the new console that Nintendo has had trouble keeping up, asking
01:37its suppliers to speed up production. Multiple Taiwanese companies actually play roles in its
01:42supply chain, including Foxconn Technology Group, which is one of the manufacturers. The audio
01:47chip and sensor chips are also made by Taiwanese companies. There's plenty of excitement here
01:53for the new console, with fans eager to get their hands on it. Whether there will be enough
01:57to go around is another story. Chris Ma and Cadence Caronta for Talent Plus.
