The biography of 10 CC, as a band, begins under the name of Hotlegs back in 1970. Hotlegs, already containing three quarters of the ladder 10 CC had been working together in various circumstances. The core at that time was the duo project of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, who were getting back into music business after years or studying in graphic design. They had recorded several demo recordings for a company called "Marmalade" in 1968, that ran out of money shortly afterwards. These recordings had been initiated by Graham Gouldman, using Eric Stewart of the Mindbenders for the guitar parts. Eric Stewart interested in the technical side of music production, had put himself into working at Strawberry Studios, Stockport. So after the demise of "Marmalade" these three started recording and composing songs for "Kasennatz Katz" major purveyors of bumbblegum music. Graham Gouldman, who had already been working for them some time longer, provided his songs to the likes of Tony Christie, Ohio Express etc.

00:30I kissed my mother, said goodbye to my brother, I said goodbye to this woman I loved her.
00:52It seemed like a madness to believe in the loudness, taking a chance on a place far away.
01:02Welcome to paradise, who said you can't live twice, you will find heaven is here on earth.
01:18Welcome to paradise, somebody say there's a proof coming on, there's a proof coming on, there's a proof coming on, there's a proof coming on.
01:36Somebody help me, so much I don't follow, not looking for trouble, I can smell the danger, never dance with a stranger.
01:52But the music took me and soon I was lost, so I questioned the lady, but her answers were crazy, before I knew I was kind to the cost.
02:07Welcome to paradise, move it but don't look twice, you'll soon be there than it may be.
02:22Welcome to paradise, there's a proof coming on, there's a proof coming on, there's a proof coming on.
02:43That vibration, feeling the tension, no smoke without fire, it's a proof coming on.
02:53I shouldn't have come, I shouldn't have come, why did I come?
03:01Hey!
03:13The clouds have got red, the temperature rising, you don't turn me back, all my bridges were burned.
03:25This is your paradise, now you must pay the price, you should have flown when the cool
03:47is blown. Welcome to paradise. Somebody help me, so much I don't follow, not alone in the
04:13trouble. Help me, help me, but I don't trouble, not looking for trouble. It's a bad vibration, feeling the tension, temperature rising.
04:35Welcome to paradise. Welcome to paradise. Welcome to paradise.
04:45There's a call coming on, a tune coming on. So welcome to paradise. Welcome to paradise. Welcome to paradise.
04:55Welcome to paradise.
05:03Welcome to paradise.
05:07Welcome to paradise.
