Labour has "failed to deliver" on many of their promises, leaving Sir Keir Starmer with "no authority and no credibility", says the co-chair of the Conservative Party. Nigel Huddleson adds, "they were so desperate to get into power that they didn't really have a plan for what they wanted to do when they came to power". Report by Brooksl. 00:00Well, Labour did come to power promising change, and we've certainly had it, but not for the better.
00:06We've seen the economy tank. Inflation is up. Unemployment is up. Debt is up. Small boat crossings are up.
00:15Many of the things they promised they've just failed to deliver.
00:18And I think the reason is they were so desperate to get into power, they didn't really have a plan for what they wanted to do when they came to power.
00:26And therefore, we've seen U-turn after U-turn after U-turn. That's undermined confidence in the economy.
00:32It's undermined confidence in the government. And therefore, we end up one year on with a government and a prime minister with no authority and no credibility.
00:41And it gets me no joy to say that because the impact on this is it's costing the British public.
00:47It's costing my constituents money. On average, Labour decisions are costing the average household in the UK ÂŁ1,700 more.
00:55more than if we were still in power. And I am not very happy about that.
