AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has written to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, expressing interest in joining the Mahagathbandhan alliance ahead of Bihar’s upcoming assembly elections. While AIMIM claims ongoing talks with Tejashwi Yadav and the Congress, the RJD dismissed the party as the BJP’s “B-team,” asserting that any decision lies solely with Lalu. The BJP slammed the development, accusing the alliance of indulging in caste-based politics. As the Seemanchal region becomes a key electoral battleground, the move has triggered debates over secularism, development, and AIMIM’s attempts to shed its BJP-ally image.

00:00Bulletin with our focus on the poll-bound state of Bihar.
00:04Now, politics over OAC, that is Asaduddin OAC, the AIMIM chief, and Gadbandhan ambitions.
00:11Now, OAC has written to Lalu, seeking to join the Gadbandhan.
00:15BJP has, amid all this, come out to say that OAC and Lalu want caste-based politics.
00:22The RJD has called OAC BJP's D-team, says decision only to be taken by Lalu Pusat.
00:30AIMIM leaders claim talks with Tejashvi and Congress are currently underway.
00:36These are the big details and big reports coming in from the poll-bound state.
00:41The battlefield is only intensifying at this point, as we, in fact, head right into polls in later this year.
00:49Let's quickly take a look at some of the reactions that have been coming in from the political arena on this.

02:06We want to make the rules of the government.
03:36Before we head into the implications of what this might mean for the upcoming polls, let's quickly take a detailed look at what each of the parties, the BJP and the RJD have to say about OEC's ambitions and aspirations at this point.
03:52Well, see, as far as the track record of which OEC is concerned, you know, the opposition has always laughed out at AIMIM, calling it the B team of the BJP.
04:05And now that the Asadine OEC's party has formally written a letter to all the alliance partners of the Mahagadbandhan, including RJD, Supremo, Lalu Prasad, Congress and other left leaders.
04:17And OEC is just trying to send out a strong message that its party is not a B team of the BJP, but wants to ally with the Mahagadbandhan so that the secular votes in Bihar are not, in fact, distributed here and there.
04:37And because of which the BJP can come to power, the JEDU can come to power.
04:41And that is why a formal letter has been written where AIMIM has appealed and requested that it should be made a part of the Mahagadbandhan.
04:50But the decision finally lies with Lalu Prasad Yadav.
04:53And remember, as I was talking about the track record, it's very doubtful whether Lalu Prasad Yadav will take a positive decision in this regard, keeping in mind the track record of Asadine OEC.
05:06But what I believe at this point in time is that I think it's more of a publicity stunt of AIMIM to shed its image of being a B team of the BJP.
05:18And by sending out a letter to all the alliance partners of the Mahagadbandhan, OEC, before the Bihar Assembly election, wants to send out a message that at least it tried hard to enter into the Mahagadbandhan.
05:31But if no positive decision is taken, then it will go out to its voters and say that I tried going into the Mahagadbandhan and it was Sejasvi Aadav and Lalu who did not allow him to be part of the Mahagadbandhan.
05:42And that is why he is fighting elections on his own.
05:45And then AIMIM should not be called as the B team of the BJP.
05:50Right. Now Rohit, let's take a look at if Lalu Prasad is to give a green signal to the AIMIM becoming a part of the Mahagadbandhan for the polls in Bihar.
06:02What sections, what areas are we looking at which the Mahagadbandhan will be benefiting from if the AIMIM indeed is to join them and join hands with them?
06:14See, basically Shreya, there's the Simanshal area of Bihar, which is a Muslim-dominated area and comprises about more than two dozen Sikhs, which are all Muslim-dominated.
06:26It is in this area that OEC dented RJD the most in the last assembly elections.
06:32And you can say that it was because of the performance of OEC in the Simanshal region that Sejasvi Aadav fell short of forming a government in Bihar.
06:42And it was OEC who dented RJD in this region.
06:46It was in the last phase of the elections, I remember, in 2020 assembly elections.
06:50So this time, if OEC happens to come on vote with the Mahagadbandhan, obviously, the Muslim vote and the fragmentation of the Muslim vote will be stopped.
07:02It can be curtailed and the Muslim vote can come to Mahagadbandhan.
07:05But if, and if I'm telling, that if Lalu Prasad does not take it very positively and OEC is not included in Mahagadbandhan,
07:14then it is very much certain that OEC will be fighting elections on more than 60 to 70 seats, as Bashi sources have claimed.
07:23And then it will be bad news for the RJD, especially the Muslim government.
07:29And well for the RJD. Yes, Rohit, thank you for all those details on this very input that we are receiving ahead of the elections that is to take place later this year, somewhere in the month of November.
07:39We will keep a track of all these developments as the battlefield indeed is heating up.
07:43Now, Prime Minister Modi received a cultural welcome in Trinidad and Tobago, marked by traditional performances, interactions and symbolic gifts.

12:47for building the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
12:52I have also brought something here
12:59with a similar sense of devotion.
13:06It is my honour to bring
13:08a replica
13:10of Ram Mandir
13:13and some water.
13:15water
13:20from the river
13:22in Ayodhya.
13:23The journey of the Indian community
13:27in Trinidad
13:30and Tobago
13:33is about courage.
13:37the circumstances
13:40your ancestors' face
13:44would have broken
13:47even the strongest spirits.
13:52But
13:53they face
13:55hardships
13:57with hope.
14:00They made problems
14:04with persistence.
14:07They left the Ganga
14:11and Yamuna behind
14:12but carried the Ramayana
14:16in their hearts.
14:18They were
14:19not just migrants.
14:23They were
14:25messengers
14:27of a timeless civilization.
14:32When I last visited 25 years ago,
14:36we all admired
14:39the cover drives
14:42and pull shots
14:45of Lara.
14:51Today
14:52it is Sunil Narayan
14:55and Nicholas Puran
15:01who ignited
15:05the same excitement
15:06in the hearts
15:08of our youth.
15:11Between then
15:12and now
15:13our friendship
15:16has grown
15:17even stronger.
15:19Prime Minister Modi,
15:20you are a transformational force
15:23who has refined
15:25governance of India
15:26and positioned
15:27your country

15:29and dominant
15:31global power.
15:33Under your leadership,
15:35India has extended
15:36its hand to the world
15:37but never more so
15:39through your compassion,
15:42through your benevolence
15:43with the vaccines
15:45initiative
15:46four years ago.
15:48When COVID-19 pandemic
15:50brought the world
15:51to its knees,
15:52while some other countries
15:54were hoarding
15:55medical supplies,
15:57you, sir,
15:58you ensured
15:59that vaccines
16:00and supplies
16:01reach even
16:01the smallest nations
16:03including Trinidad
16:05and Trinidad.
16:07Pranay Upadhyay
16:09joins us
16:09on the broadcast
16:10to in fact
16:11bring us more details
16:12and put things
16:13into context
16:14for us.
16:14Pranay,
16:15you know,
16:16we have been seeing
16:17all these visuals.
16:18What it does
16:19at this point
16:20is the focus
16:21on the cultural ties
16:22between these two nations
16:24aside,
16:24apart from the bilateral ties,
16:27only shows
16:27how the ties
16:28between the two nations
16:29have not just been renewed
16:31but at this point
16:33re-insured
16:33and reaffirmed.
16:35You're absolutely
16:37right, Shreya.
16:38You rightly pointed out
16:39and you are also
16:41showing the visuals
16:42of Prime Minister's
16:43reception there
16:43in Trinidad
16:44and Trinidad
16:45ago,
16:45how warmly,
16:46you know,
16:47his entourage
16:48was received
16:48by the cabinet,

16:50of Prime Minister
16:51Kamala Prasad
16:52Bisesar
16:53at the Port of Spain
16:54airport.
16:55So this clearly shows
16:56that, you know,
16:57the kind of warmth
16:58expressed for the
16:59welcome of Indian
17:00Prime Minister
17:01and his delegation
17:02and also Prime Minister
17:03Narendra Modi
17:04while addressing
17:05the diaspora,
17:05he also mentioned
17:06the kind of cultural
17:07connect we have
17:08with Trinidad and Tobago.
17:10This relationship
17:11goes back to
17:12180 years,
17:14you know,
17:14when contractual
17:15labours were taken
17:17to Trinidad and Tobago
17:18as bonded labour
17:19but the country
17:21after getting
17:22the freedom
17:22now preserves
17:24that relationship
17:25right from the
17:25cultural connect
17:26to the religious
17:27relationship
17:29to vaccine metri.
17:30Prime Minister
17:30Kamala Prasad

17:33Narendra Modi
17:34she also expressed
17:35the gratitude
17:36and this is a very
17:37unique relationship
17:37if you see
17:38both Prime Minister
17:39and President
17:40of Trinidad and Tobago
17:41are the awardees
17:42of Pravasi Bharti

17:44given by India
17:45recognising the kind
17:46of relationship
17:47we share
17:47with Trinidad and Tobago.
17:49This is a very small
17:49nation from Caribbean
17:51the population
17:52is around 14 lakh
17:53and India
17:54is a large country
17:55as compared to
17:56you know,
17:57the size
17:57and population
17:59of Trinidad and Tobago
18:00but the kind
18:01of bond we share
18:02with Trinidad and Tobago
18:03is quite visible
18:04there during Prime Minister
18:06Narendra Modi's visit
18:07especially the religious
18:09relationship
18:10Prime Minister
18:10Narendra Modi
18:11presented the replica
18:13of Ram Mandir
18:15to Prime Minister
18:16Kamala Prasad
18:17Bisesar
18:17and the Indian
18:18community there
18:19and also
18:20he took the Ganga
18:22Jalp
18:23for the people there
18:24and this is just
18:26a token
18:27of the kind
18:28of bond
18:29we have
18:29with Trinidad and Tobago
18:30how much we appreciate
18:32and that warmth
18:33was also reciprocated
18:34by Trinidad and Tobago
18:35and Prime Minister
18:36Narendra Modi
18:37is the first Prime Minister
18:38in this century
18:39visiting Trinidad and Tobago
18:41but Prime Minister
18:42Narendra Modi
18:42as a politician

18:48you know,
18:49that visit
18:49he mentioned
18:50during his speech
18:50as well
18:51so this clearly shows
18:52that India
18:52is not only
18:53cherishing the old
18:54cultural ties
18:55with Trinidad and Tobago
18:56but also looking forward

26:33the college, the business in the village,
26:36the government is the case.
26:40Do you think that the government is the case?
26:45The government is the case.
26:49And we have to do that.
27:00The first thing we have told is that this is a big part of our work.
27:05It is a big part of our work.
27:07It is a human being and a very good part of our work.
27:11I would like to see what the government and the government would like to do this.
27:19I would like to do this.
27:22What would you like to do this?
27:24Do you like to do this?
27:25Do you like to do this?
27:26Do you like to do this?
27:28Do you like to do this?
27:30Do you like to do this?
27:32Rajesh Shah joins us on the broadcast.
27:35Rajesh, a very good morning to you.
27:37You have spoken to the father of the victim on this call.
27:40Clearly, he is in a disturbed state of mind as one would expect under such circumstances.
27:46And he has gone ahead to demand for maximum punishment and has said if death is what the maximum punishment is supposed to be, so be it for Monajit.
28:00Shriya, I personally visited the residence of the victim yesterday and you know what I found there is only silence.
28:07When I arrived near the residence, initially it seemed that no one was at the home because the windows, the doors were closed from inside.
28:17No one was coming out of the home.
28:19No one was talking to anyone and there was complete silence.
28:22And when I noticed one of the family members seeing me, she suddenly went inside the home.
28:30And I, after multiple attempts, after waiting for at least five to six hours, I had been able to talk to the father of the victim.
28:40And they are, they are still traumatized.
28:43They are still terrified.
28:45They are in panic.
28:46And when I was talking to the father of the victim, he was saying that his daughter is still traumatized after the incident.
28:56And he said that right now they are only fighting legally.
29:00Right now they are in the legal battle.
29:02They are fighting legally so that the accused can get the highest punishment because he is demanding the highest punishment, which is the capital punishment for the arrested accused.
29:13The prime accused Manojit Mistrand and other arrested accused.
29:18And the father of the victim has also said that they are not willing to approach higher court or Supreme Court for seeking CBI right now because they are happy.
29:27They are happy with the investigation which is being done by Kolkata police.
29:30They are happy with the seat and the department of Kolkata police.
29:34He has expressed his trust with the Kolkata police, whatever he has.
29:39And he said that Kolkata police has been able to nab all the arrested accused within just 12 hours.
29:45They are taking forward the investigation and they are happy with the investigating officer also.
29:50So they are keeping faith with Kolkata police and they are expecting that justice will be delivered and all the arrested accused will get highest punishment.
30:01And the father of the victim has also said the victim is not willing to talk with any media right now because she is completely traumatized till now.
30:11Her counseling is going on right now and they are getting help from Kolkata police for the counseling of the victim. Shriya.
30:17Right Rajesh, as a woman at this point, I can only imagine what kind of trauma she might be going through.
30:24And yes, the probe has been continuing. These are the details, viewers, that we bring to you of what the family has to say about the entire matter.
30:31They are content with the investigation so far that's been carried on by the Kolkata police and are demanding for a death penalty for the particular perpetrators in this case.
30:41But right now, viewers, we have more news coming to the fore. Rajesh, do stay with us.
30:45More breaking news, in fact, coming to the fore within this very story. Let's take a look at that.
30:59Kolkata gang rape probe is now intensifying with each passing day.
31:04The cops will now be recreating the crime scene at the college premises itself.
31:09The accused will be taken for the crime scene recreation to the South Kolkata Law College.
31:15For our crime scene recreation shall take place at the college. This is what we are learning at this point.
31:21We will, in fact, go back to Rajesh to understand more and get some more details on that.
31:27Rajesh, the probe has been intensifying and what we understand today, the recreation of the crime scene is to take place with the accused being taken back to the very premises itself.
31:36Well, this is a very important part of the investigation and this is called the reconception of crime.
31:43And that was conducted a few days back with the victim also.
31:48Victim was taken inside the college, which is the place of occurrence, which is the crime scene.
31:54She was taken inside the college and she showed every place, everything, how that crime was conducted with her.
32:02And today, the four arrested accused were taken by the Kolkata police inside the law college, which is South Kolkata Law College.
32:10And the reconception of crime has been conducted with the arrested accused today.
32:14And this is a very important part of the investigation.
32:17And, you know, that investigation has been taken by the detective department.
32:21Initially, it was being done by the seat, the five member seat.
32:25Then four more members were added into the special investigation team.
32:29And after a few days of investigation, the detective department of Kolkata police has taken over the charge of investigation from the special investigation team of Kolkata police.
32:38And right now, this investigation is being done by the detective department and the team of detective department took all the four arrested accused to the South Kolkata Law College for the reconceptional crime, which is conducted with the victim earlier.
32:52And today, it has been done with the all arrested accused.
32:56Shriya.
32:57Right, Rajesh.
32:58Thank you for those details.
32:59We will, in fact, keep coming back to you through the day to understand how the things are proceeding, how the probe is proceeding as the recreation is to take place.
33:07With that, viewers, we are now shifting our focus to the state of Maharashtra.
33:20Maharashtra government terminates Mukya Mantri Ladki Behen Yojana benefits for 2,289 ineligible government employees.
33:31Maharashtra government has discontinued the benefits under the Mukya Mantri Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana for 2,289 female government employees who were found ineligible.
33:45Now, this move is a part of an ongoing effort to ensure the scheme's benefits are directed solely to economically disadvantaged women, highlighting the concerns over the integrity of the beneficiary verification process.
33:59This is what we are learning at this point.
34:01Dipesh Tripathi joins us on the broadcast.
34:03Dipesh, a very good morning to you.
34:05Do take us through the details of how this process is being implemented and a little more on this very news that we are getting.
34:12how over 2,000 women who were earlier getting the benefits of this very scheme have now been cut off from it.
34:22Yes, definitely. This was the game-changing Yojana for the Mahayuti government when this Yojana was implemented.
34:31Because it is considered that when this Yojana was announced, after that, Maharashtra assembly elections took place and Mahayuti won with a remarkable majority.
34:43But now, due to lack of funds, Mahayuti is cutting down the Ladki Behen Yojana scheme to the limited number.
34:51And now, they have taken a big decision that the Maharashtra government has discontinued benefit under Mahayuti Yojana of 2,289 females who are government employed.
35:07They are now ineligible for this Ladki Behen Yojana.
35:12This is considered as a big step taken by the government.
35:16Right Dipesh, definitely a big step that's been taken by the government to ensure that no ineligible candidates do benefit from this.
35:29And the benefit is actually reserved for those who actually need it and those who are eligible for this very scheme.
35:37Because remember, it is important to ensure the correct implementation of such schemes.
35:42With our viewers, we are now shifting our focus to another story that's coming to light.
35:46Shifting focus to down south, Lokayukta writes to the government seeking a new surveillance unit to curb corruption within the Lokayukta institution itself.
36:03The Lokayukta had requested a separate vigilance team comprising of 24 officers.
36:09However, the government rejected the Lokayukta's request at that time.
36:13Now, in its response, the government has stated that steps shall be taken to re-establish an internal vigilance unit
36:19using staff already transferred from the Anti-Corruption Bureau to the Lokayukta institution.
36:25These are the preliminary details we are getting and we in fact have Sagay Raj with us on the broadcast
36:30to take us through some more details and shed some more light on this very breaking news we are receiving from Karnataka.
36:37Sagay, a very good morning to you. Do help us understand what more are we learning in terms of the government's response
36:43and how this replacement is to take place to ensure corruption is curbed within the Lokayukta.
36:49If you notice that there is a major embarrassment for Karnataka's anti-corruption machinery where the Karnataka Lokayukta
36:55has released a press statement which confirms there was a corruption kit involving two persons that includes Srinath Joshi and Constable Ningappa.
37:04And they have taken bribes from the people using a code word called KG.
37:10And thereafter, they also try to convert all those black money into white money by investing into crypto accounts
37:16where Srinath had opened a few crypto accounts and he had deposited close to pro-core rupees to convert those money into white money.
37:26Somehow the police have, sorry the Lokayukta police have investigated and found out the truth.
37:31Now they have also requested the Karnataka government to set up a separate bureau to go ahead and monitor the activities of these kind of malpractice within the Lokayukta.
37:44Somehow the government have said that they cannot do that.
37:47However, they can go ahead and re-establish an internal vigilance unit using staff which has already been transferred.
37:55Thank you for those details. We will keep a track of how the process indeed unfolds.
37:59But for now viewers, that's all that we have on this very piece of information we're picking up from the state of Karnataka.
38:07Now, shifting our focus to the national capital.
38:10Massive ruling for people of Delhi.
38:11The Delhi government has put on hold the contentious order denying fuel to end-of-life cars.
38:16That is the term for petrol vehicles being older than 15 years and diesel vehicles older than 10 years.
38:22Welcoming the announcement, Ahmad Bipati on the other hand has mocked the NJP for taking a U-turn on what it called the Tughla Ki Farman.
38:30Now, three days after the order came into effect, Delhi government penned a letter to the Commission for Air Quality Management
38:37highlighting that the fuel ban is not feasible and that it cannot be implemented due to technological challenges.
38:43The Ahmad Bipati has in fact hailed it as a win for the people of Delhi, saying that the BJP is a government of U-turns and was forced to withdraw the Tughla Ki Farman due to the public outcry.
38:53Let's listen in to some of the reactions that's come in on this very story.
38:56The Delhi Minister, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, cited that the ANPR cameras are not working properly, the database is not robust, the audio output system is not working properly.
39:10And moreover, the vehicles which are from outside Delhi, their database is not available in the present ANPR system, which means while the Delhi vehicles will be denied refueling on petrol pumps in Delhi,
39:22if it's EOL vehicle, the other vehicles from the adjoining area states will continue to get fuel.
39:29So it's a very unfair system that could have been, that's being implemented in the national capital.
39:35However, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that in many cases, people have very emotional relation with their cars if it's a gifted car from their father or somebody else.
39:45And hence, the metrics to ban such cars should be pollution emission and not the EOS that has been proposed or that was ordered as per the CAQM.
39:57However, Aam Admi Party is saying that this Tughlaqi Farman quote unquote or the illogical order that was passed by the Delhi government has been now withdrawn under the pressure of Aam Admi Party and people of Delhi.
40:11And they had earlier accused that this was being done at the behest of the automobile industry.
40:18On the other side, the confusion for the petrol pump employees like this one continue because the CAQM is yet to issue an official new order in regards to the end-of-life vehicles.
40:32With video journalist Manis Bidhuri, this is Amit Bhardwaj reporting for India today from Delhi.
40:37Confusion is a very important question, because the order was not done in the clear story.
40:41Yes, sir, a message is that the order has not been passed.
40:46So, we have the situation that we have to be having a loose petrol, which we have to be able to do.
40:52You have the loose petrol, which we have to be able to get in the petrol pump.
40:54You have to be able to get in the notice of the petrol pump.
