Taiwan will soon ask Threads to provide advertisement transparency after reports of almost two thousand suspected scams.

00:00Taiwan is targeting another platform and it's cracked down on social media scams.
00:05This time, it's Threads.
00:07The text-based social media app owned by Meta has more than 3 million users in Taiwan,
00:12but has seen nearly 2,000 reports of suspected scams since last September.
00:17It's being added to a regulatory framework that requires platforms to verify advertisers,
00:22develop anti-fraud strategies, and remove deceptive ads upon request.
00:26The measure is set to take effect for Threads on September 15th.
