00:17Because I'm afraid they're going to turn out like me.

00:27We would like to adopt a child.

00:29It's going to be an enormous stack of paper.

00:31They look for problems.

00:32They look for faults.

00:33They look for flaws.

00:34And the minute they find one, they stroke you off the list.

00:37Psychological evaluation.

00:38You're completing a medical form, a financial form.

00:40So it needs a notary.

00:41It needs a city clerk stamp.

00:43It needs a state department stamp.

00:44There's a lot of complexity to working out the medical issues.

00:47Do some research.

00:48A child can be abused physically or psychologically.

00:52They've never had this.

00:53They've never been held on a regular basis and made to feel that bond that you feel with your own child.

01:05When you're in the bottom of the basement, again, there's nothing.

01:09It's a void.

01:10It's less than zero.

01:11So I felt like I have to arrest everybody.

01:16If an insult occurs at that time, then you could possibly have major abnormalities.

01:24The women wished they'd had a father in their own lives when they were kids.

01:27And they wished they had a responsible partner in their lives now.

01:29And the kids talked about missing their father for life.

01:32I know of people who've been turned down because, literally, they were occasional smokers.

01:37Because they were overweight.

01:39Because they thought that they loved their cats too much.

01:42I mean, absolutely absurd reasons.

01:45Every step of the way is a barrier.

01:49And it's ridiculous.

01:50It's ludicrous.

01:51And it's inhuman.

01:53I made the wrong decisions.

01:56If you kill me, I'm going to heaven.

02:02And you are so standing in your own hell.

02:05She issued an order that this person could not have any more children.

02:10I think people want choice.

02:15I think that's what's beautiful.

02:17It's America.

02:19We all have rights.

02:21Right?

02:22To find some way to make everybody sterile,

02:25so that if they wanted to have a child, they would have to take an antidote.

02:30Not every family finds all of this possible.

02:38It's a good idea, but I think it could become a bad idea.
