00:00Here is your General Hospital recap on what happened in Port Charles today, Thursday, July 3, 2025.
00:07What happened on General Hospital?
00:09Note. Midway through the episode, a news special report broke in for about five minutes.
00:15While awaiting Maxie's arrival at the Quartermain Mansion,
00:18Brooklyn and Tracy discussed breaking the news to Maxie, saving Deception, and protecting Gio.
00:24Brooklyn maintained her unwillingness to do anything to hurt the relationship between Gio
00:29and Sonny, but still wanted to protect Gio from Sonny's enemies. Tracy felt they could only try
00:34their best to protect Gio, but he would not be completely safe until Sonny was dealt with
00:39once and for all. Michael answered the door when Maxie arrived. The role of Maxie Jones
00:45is temporarily being played by Nicole Paggie. Maxie referred to herself as Daisy's unofficial
00:51godmother, and Michael thanked her for planning the perfect christening, even though she was
00:55unable to be there. They took a few minutes to catch up. After talking to Michael, Maxie met
01:02with Brooklyn, who immediately let her know they had a big problem. Sonny's second investment with
01:07Deception was made with dirty money. Maxie did not take it seriously at first, feeling Sonny would
01:13never be that sloppy. Brooklyn shared the file from Natalia and broke the news of the death.
01:19Maxie immediately thought they should go to the police, hand over all of their records,
01:23and let them go over them with a fine-toothed comb. She said her family needs Deception,
01:28and she had to save the company. Brooklyn asked if they could wait to get subpoenaed.
01:33As Maxie was saying they had to get ahead of it, she went to grab the Deception file.
01:38Instead, she accidentally grabbed and opened the file that Brooklyn had on Britt and Rocco.
01:43When asked what it was, and why she had it, Brooklyn admitted it was supposed to be her revenge
01:48against Lulu. Brooklyn felt justified in showing it to Rocco, because St. Lulu, of truth and honesty,
01:55would never keep secrets from her children. When she sarcastically said she was sure Rocco already
02:00knew, Maxie questioned when Lulu would have told him, during her four-year coma.
02:06Oversimplifying the situation, Brooklyn rationalized Rocco was too old to be kept in the dark about Britt,
02:12basically his surrogate. Maxie argued it was Lulu Brooklyn was mad at, but it would be Rocco she hurt.
02:18Brooklyn said that is why she did not tell him. She went on to explain she had it set up for him
02:23to accidentally find the file, but she could not do it because she loved Rocco, and he had already
02:28been through enough. She thought Lulu had it coming, but Rocco did not. Maxie was relieved and
02:34told Brooklyn that piling on the hurt would not make anything any better. Angered, Brooklyn reiterated
02:40she did not go through with it because she was better than Lulu. At the cafe, Rocco and Danny were using
02:46their phones to search for information about Britt Westbourne, whom he now thinks may be his other
02:51mother. They asked Emma to join them to share what she knew about Britt Westbourne. Emma wanted to know
02:57why they were asking her about the Britch, which was a nickname they were not aware of. She went on
03:02to refer to her as the Britch, Britchie, her Britchness, the Wicked Witch of the Westbourne, and said no one
03:08really liked her except her dad for a little while. She said her dad and Britt dated briefly,
03:14but Britt could not stand her. After her dad dumped Britt, Emma said she was pathetic enough
03:19to get herself pregnant to try to hold on to him. At that point, it dawned on Emma why they had asked
03:25her there. She told Rocco she was just a kid when it all went down, and he should really talk to his mom
03:31and dad, because their memories would be a whole lot better than hers. Danny thanked her for talking to
03:37them and apologized for ambushing her with everything. Before she left, she told Rocco there
03:42had to be a lot more to the situation than either of them knew about, and he owed it to himself to
03:47find out the truth. At the Metro Court pool, Willow approached Gio to offer her sympathies for what
03:54happened at the nurse's ball and for finding out the truth about his birth parents. She said there was
03:59nothing worse than being betrayed by someone who is supposed to love you. Gio thanked her and offered
04:05his sympathies for everything she was going through as well. They agreed that you find out who you
04:10really can and cannot trust when your life gets turned upside down. Willow told him he could always
04:16count on anyone who stood by him and helped him through the hard times. Trina and Kai were lounging
04:22by the pool, excited to get a chance to relax and see the 4th of July fireworks later. After talking to
04:28Gio, Willow went over to say hello to them. Kai figured Willow would be in Washington, D.C. with
04:34Drew, but she said he was going to be too busy working to celebrate the night. Kai figured everyone
04:40would be with their families and wondered with whom Drew was working. Willow shared how impressed Drew
04:45was with Cal's work, and now he appreciated him going the extra mile. Unaware, Kai told Drew about her
04:52parents' plan to find Jacinda. Trina still looked at Kai suspiciously and asked what the extra mile he
04:58went. Willow gushed on about Kai stepping in to save Drew from the disastrous press conference,
05:04how helpful he was, and how much Drew believed in his potential. As soon as Willow walked off,
05:10Trina turned to Kai and said they needed to talk. He interrupted,
05:14I know what you are going to say, to which Trina responded,
05:17Pro tip, when you think you know what a woman is about to say, let her say it. Kai still interjected,
05:23saying he knew she wanted him to keep his distance from Drew. Trina said it was not just Drew,
05:28but all of the quarter mains were crazy and would make him go crazy if he got too close to him.
05:34Just as she said that, Trina saw a worried Tracy walk up to talk to Gio. Kai said she did not have to
05:41worry about him, and his only interest was in politics and not any quarter main drama.
05:46Trina cautioned that the quarter mains were always going to be battling something,
05:50and he did not want to get stuck in the middle of it. She also went on to share her continued
05:55worry about her parents, while Kai maintained his secret. They talked about people being committed
06:00and not giving up on each other. Trina said it was a risk, because you would have to trust someone,
06:06and, once you let them in, they could disappoint you. Kai felt if the person was worth it,
06:12then the risk was worth it. He told Trina she was definitely worth it, and she said the same
06:17about him. Tracy acknowledged Gio had not answered her text messages and was very resistant to talking
06:23with her, but she wanted to warn him that his life could be in danger. She updated him about the fire,
06:29and that his aunt Christina was in the building at the time. She let him know Christina was going to
06:33be fine, but she could have died just like his uncle Michael could have, because of Sonny.
06:38Emma arrived to sit with Tracy and Gio. Tracy went on to acknowledge that Gio was not going to like
06:45what she was about to say, but Sonny was a dangerous man, especially to family. She was
06:50worried he would be the next victim and pleaded with him to come home. She even offered him the
06:56gatehouse or to move Joss and Trina's out so he could have the apartment over the garage.
07:01Gio said he had no intention of moving back and did not consider them family. She understood how
07:06badly he had been hurt, but said hurt feelings were not worth risking his life. Emma interjected,
07:12saying that Gio was safe living with her and her grandmother, the police commissioner. But Tracy
07:18dismissed her by saying Anna had done nothing to curb crime in Port Charles. Gio felt the offer was
07:23not really about safety, but Tracy's attempt to get him to reject his grandfather. Tracy saw that
07:29she went about conveying her worry in the wrong way, and understood he was an adult she could not force
07:34into doing anything. Before she left, she made a final request of Gio, which stunned both him and
07:40Emma. She asked him to go by Charlie's pub after work to see what was left after the fire. Then go to
07:46the hospital to visit his Aunt Christina, who was recovering, and finally go to the cemetery to visit
07:52his Uncle Morgan's gravesite. She told him Morgan was only 23, a year older than him, when he was killed
07:58by a car bomb meant for his father. Meanwhile, Willow was sitting on a chaise on the side of
08:04the far end of the pool, clearly waiting for something, as Michael and Wiley walked in for
08:09his pool lesson. Michael quickly spotted Willow, but did not let Wiley know. Wiley did not notice her
08:15until he finished his lesson and was drying off. Wiley ran to hug Willow and wanted to stay to swim with
08:22his mommy, but Michael said they had to go. When Willow told Wiley, the judge said they had to wait
08:27a little longer before they could spend time together. He said he hated that judge and missed
08:32her. She said she missed him and Amelia too, and hopefully, the judge would change her mind soon.
08:39After they walked off, Wiley told Michael he was tired of waiting for the stupid judge
08:43and wanted his mommy to come home so he could be with her now. Laura visited Lulu at her house.
08:50Lulu said she was reporting on the fire at Charlie's for the Landview banner and had questions. She said
08:56the people who were pro-measure C felt the fire was proof of mob violence escalating again and thought
09:02Laura was ignoring it because of her longtime personal connection to Sunny. Laura vehemently denied
09:07ignoring it, but felt there was a right way and a wrong way to investigate a fire, and she must do it
09:13the right way. Lulu said the yes on C people also felt Laura was standing in the way of a measure the
09:19city desperately needed. Exasperated, Laura said she was the one who called for the measure in the
09:24first place. Lulu cautioned it might be time to disavow Sunny, but Laura felt it would not do
09:30anything except tear their family apart if she did. Lulu felt Laura could publicly disavow Sunny,
09:35but it did not have to be for real. Laura explained how and why that would not work.
09:41Not only did she not want to compromise her own morals, she could not help but feel there was more
09:45to the situation. Lulu said she did not want Laura to give up her principles and wanted her to beat
09:51Ezra Boyle, but she was falling behind in the polling. They were confused and worried about how
09:56someone like Boyle could be gaining favor. Lulu felt Laura would need to remain mayor if she wanted
10:01to save Port Charles, and questioned how far she would be willing to go to make that happen.
10:07Lulu felt something would have to change if Laura wanted to beat Boyle and continue doing great
10:12things for Port Charles. Laura confided in what Sunny told her about Sidwell bringing violence
10:17to the city. She remained strong in her convictions not to yield to Sidwell's scare tactics, but Lulu
10:23warned that the public would scare more easily, and Boyle was in Sidwell's pocket. Laura shared how
10:29careful she had to be with her decisions so Port Charles would not go from a bad situation to one
10:34way worse. Rocco got home from the cafe. Lulu was happy he was home and wanted to tell him something,
10:40but was shocked when he asked her to tell him about Britt Westbourne instead.
10:44As Sunny seems to be on everyone's minds, Assistant District Attorney Turner met with him in the
10:49interrogation room at the Port Charles Police Department. Sunny did not intend to say a word
10:55without Diane. Turner told him the procedures allow her to hold him for 24 hours, but Sunny knew she
11:01could not deny letting him see his lawyer. Reminding Sunny that anything he said without his lawyer could be
11:07considered inadmissible and not held against him, she encouraged him to see it as the best opportunity
11:13to tell her what happened with Natalia. Sunny questioned why he should trust her. Turner detailed her plea deal
11:19agreement with Natalia. Sunny said the truth was, Turner hauled in Natalia on trumped-up charges, leveraged it
11:26against her, and then persuaded her to give information which only might have incriminated him. Sunny hit a nerve
11:33when he told Turner she thought she was the one who got Natalia killed. He went on to say Natalia was a
11:39strong person, but you never know what drives a person on the inside to do what they did. Instead of
11:44accusing Turner, he said she was just doing her job, and how Natalia dealt with it was on Natalia,
11:50not her. Not able to handle anymore, Turner said, no further questions, and left.
11:56Laura arrived and asked to see Sunny. She wanted details about what Sunny actually knows about Sidwell and his
12:04plans. At Sunny's house, Jason was on the phone with Diane, who told him they would not let her see Sunny.
12:11Dante arrived to let Jason know the Port Charles Police Department would not let Dante talk to Sunny, and
12:17Selena Wu was their primary suspect for starting the fire at Charlie's.
12:20Dante went on to share that they identified two suspects who were both Selena's guys. He also knew
12:28Selena booked a flight to Singapore, but did not know whether or not she got on the plane. Jason
12:33questioned why Dante bothered coming to him if they thought they had it all figured out. Being direct,
12:39Dante said he did not know if he should bother looking for the guys and Selena, or if they were already
12:44buried in the woods somewhere. Jason told him he did not even know the people involved were Selena's men,
12:49but still did not believe Selena would risk crossing Sunny and knew she would not target Christina.
12:55They both surmised Sidwell set Selena up. In the end, they acknowledged how their relationship has
13:01changed over the years and was more intertwined than it used to be. Jason told Dante he did not want
13:07any trouble with him, and he did not want to take any action that involved him. Dante remained
13:12suspicious that Jason and Sunny would continue to seek retaliation. After Dante left, Jason received a call.
13:19He asked if the caller had eyes on someone, an unidentified individual,
13:24and told them he would let them know when Sunny was ready to move.
