00:00Hi, welcome back to Movie Recap Zone. Today, I'm going to explain a teen comedy movie from 2007

00:06called, Super Bad. Spoilers ahead. Watch out and take care. The movie begins with a high school

00:13teenager named, Seth. He calls his friend Evan on the phone and talks about sex, he's considering

00:19subscribing to one of the adult channels. They discuss the pros and cons, and Seth arrives at

00:24Evan's house to pick him up for school. It's their senior year and their graduation is just around

00:28the corner. Because of which, Seth thinks he has every right to park his car in the faculty parking

00:33lot. While he and Evan step into a gas station before school. Inside, they inspect some of adult

00:39magazines and grab some snacks. They discuss Evan's crush on Becca, and Seth's on Jules. They're

00:45concerned that they may only have a short time left to lose their virginity before college, because

00:50they definitely don't want to show up as virgins when the time comes. When they leave the gas station,

00:54a group of bullies led by Jesse cut them off, Jesse tells them that they aren't welcome to his

00:59graduation party. He spits on Seth. They walk away without a fight, but humiliated. After class,

01:06Becca returns Evan's pen and asks him if he's going to Jesse's graduation party. He tells her that he's

01:11thinking about it, but has a lot of other fun stuff planned so he doesn't know if he's going to make it.

01:16She points that she never sees him at any of the parties. In cooking class, Seth is upset because he

01:21doesn't have a partner and has to do all the work by himself. Lucky him, the teacher pairs him up with

01:26Jules, since her partner didn't show up that day. They both have an incredible time baking together.

01:32Afterwards, she invites him to a party she's having at her house that night. Seth tells Evan about the

01:37party, and they both agree not to tell their other friend Fogle about it, because he's pretty lame and

01:42cringeworthy. Fogle shows up and tells them that he's planning on getting a fake ID after school. Seth sees this

01:48as an opportunity to impress Jules, so he tells Fogle about the party. So he can buy them drinks

01:53and make them look cool in front of the girls. Later, he tells Jules that he's getting a fake ID

01:58and will be bringing drinks to the party. But Seth is upset about Evan and Fogle both getting into the

02:03same school, because Evan is his best friend and they had always planned on going to college together.

02:08At lunch, they continue talking about girls, and Evan calls him out about how rude he is towards Becca.

02:13Becca. Seth explains that he doesn't like her. Because when they were in elementary school,

02:18Seth compulsively drew pictures of dicks, and one day Becca caught him. She told the principal,

02:23who told his parents, who made him go see a counselor. After class Jules pulls Seth aside

02:27to make sure he's still going to bring drinks to the party, she gives him $100 and specifies kinds

02:32of drinks that she wants. He assures her he'll be there with the drinks. Seth tells Evan about the

02:37situation and how he plans on impressing Jules, with the drinks and getting her drunk enough for her

02:42to be interested in him. Evan tries to explain that Jules is just using him for the alcohol and

02:47isn't actually into him, but Seth convinces Evan that this is their last chance to get laid before

02:51college. Evan talks to Becca about the party and says that he will bring alcohol, he offers to buy

02:56her some and she seems flattered. Seth and Evan wait for Fogle after school impatiently. And when he

03:02shows up, Seth is furious that Fogle has bought a terrific fake-looking ID with just one name on it,

03:07McClubbin. Stating he's 25 years old and from Hawaii, but Fogle assures them that the ID will

03:13work. They make their way back to Seth's car only to find that it has been towed from the faculty

03:17lot. Seth and Evan go back to Evan's house to get ready for the party. And agree to pick up Fogle

03:23when he gets off work, but Seth is unable to get his own clothes from his house, because if he goes

03:27home, he'll get grounded for his towed car. And he can't wear any of Evan's clothes because he's fat,

03:32his only option is to wear some of Evan's dad's clothes. They take the bus to meet up with Fogle

03:37outside the grocery store he works at. Another time, Seth is agitated by how fake the ID looks

03:43and says he'll just go inside the grocery store and steal the alcohol himself. Once he gets inside,

03:48he's unable to keep himself from imagining all the bad scenarios if it goes wrong. And in the end,

03:54he chickens out and returns to his friends in the parking lot. The three take another bus to a liquor

03:58store and give Fogle the money and a list of all the alcohol they'll need for the party.

04:03When Fogle gets nervous and wants to bail, Seth forces him to do what he got to do. When Fogle

04:08goes to check out, he is assaulted by a man robbing the liquor store, leading the cashier to call the

04:13cops. Seth and Evan assume the police have arrived to arrest Fogle for trying to use a fake ID,

04:19so they decide to run away. A driver in the parking lot accidentally hits Seth, so he offers to take

04:24them somewhere they can get alcohol. If they promise, not to report him to the cops. Excited,

04:30Seth and Evan agree and get in the car. In the liquor store, the officers question the cashier

04:35and then Fogle. They check his ID and compliment McClellan on his badass name. Since he missed his

04:41bus, they offer to give him a ride. Seth and Evan arrive at the party and get inside. Almost

04:46immediately, the man they arrived with, is kicked out and beat up by the host because he wasn't invited.

04:51Seth and Evan decide to use the distraction to leave. When they get back inside, Seth suggests

04:57they take some of the liquor with them, but Evan doesn't think it's a good idea and bails.

05:02Meanwhile, the cops escorting McClellan have to tend to police matters at a local bar and take him

05:07with them. Inside, there is a mad drunk man and McClellan accidentally helps the cops to catch him.

05:13The cops decide to celebrate by buying McClellan a few rounds of beers, and they give him advice

05:17on how to pick up women. Seth gets caught up in the party while trying to snag some drinks,

05:22but ends up dancing dirty with one of the girls. After they're through, when Seth walks into the

05:26living room, two guys point out the period stain he has on his pants from dancing with the girl.

05:31Seth is disgusted and goes to the basement to try to wash the stain off. Evan uses one of the phones

05:37in the house to call Becca, and make sure she knows he's still coming. While on the phone,

05:41several guys enter and start sniffing cocaine. They mistake him for someone they've seen at a

05:46previous party, and Evan plays along with them so he doesn't get in trouble. While in the basement,

05:51Seth stumbles upon a huge stash of drinks in the refrigerator, and empties a few nearby detergent

05:56containers. Then begins filling them up with alcohol. The cops continue drinking with McClellan

06:01until they get called to break up the house party that Seth and Evan are at. They take over a few beers

06:06with them on their way. When Seth comes back upstairs with the detergent containers, he's confronted by

06:11the host of the party. The woman Seth had been dancing with was the host's fiancée. A huge fight

06:17ensues, but luckily, Seth and Evan can get away. Once on the road, Seth tells Evan he's angry at him

06:23for ditching him at the party, and also for ditching him to go to college. Just then, the cops fool around

06:28in the street, drunk and with Vogel still in the car. They end up hitting Seth, they hold Seth and Evan

06:34at gunpoint, and attempt to turn the situation around to put the blame on the boys. Since they are underage

06:39and have alcohol, one of the cops writes up a witness report for Vogel to sign. Making sure

06:44that cops don't get blamed for hitting Seth. After giving Vogel a cigarette to shut him up,

06:48he gets out of the car and sees that Seth and Evan are there. Evan makes a run for it to distract

06:53the cops, while Seth and Vogel run in the other direction. The cops lose the boys and they meet

06:58back up. They still have the alcohol and realize that they're only three blocks away from the party.

07:04Just outside, the boys argue when Seth learns that Evan will be rooming with Vogel in college.

07:09Seth takes the alcohol and enters the party alone, where Jules spots him and lets everyone

07:13know he's there. They all celebrate Seth and he drinks a lot. One of Becca's friends approaches Evan

07:18and tells him that Becca is very drunk, and has been waiting for him all night. Evan says it would

07:23be wrong try to take advantage of Becca while she's drunk, but her friend tells him it's fine if he's

07:28drunk as well. He takes a bottle to the bathroom and works on getting himself drunk. Vogel spots the

07:33girl he's been staring at in school dancing in the living room, and decides to dance with her and

07:37impress her with his fake ID. Once Evan gets drunk, he makes his way outside to Becca and they drink a

07:43little more. Before she leads him inside and upstairs to get a room, they try to massage each

07:48other. But Evan feels uncomfortable saying that he's too drunk, Becca makes fun of him. But then

07:53she throws up, she asks him to go get her friend to take care of her. Seth finds Jules and asks her

07:58to talk with him outside, he makes a move to kiss her but she rejects him. Explaining that she's

08:03completely sober, and doesn't feel comfortable kissing him, or doing anything else while he's

08:08this drunk. Seth gets upset that his plan hasn't worked out and passes out, accidentally smacking

08:13Jules in the eye with his head while falling. The cops finally arrive to break up the party,

08:18threatening the teenagers with guns if they don't leave the property. Seth hears that the cops are

08:22there and immediately goes searching for Evan. Seth finds him passed out on the couch from drinking

08:27too much, so he picks Evan up and carries him out of the party. The cops go upstairs to find

08:32Fogel having fun with the girl he was dancing with. The girl freaks out and runs away, the cops

08:37then apologize for interrupting and explain that they knew his name wasn't actually McClellan the

08:41entire time. But they wanted to prove to him and themselves that cops too can have fun. They ask Fogel

08:47how they can possibly make up for their interruption? So Fogel has them escort him from the party and put

08:52him in the back of the car, so all the kids outside will think he's cool. Evan wakes up while Seth is

08:57carrying him, they apologize to each other for what happened. Over the night, Evan invites Seth

09:02back to his place for a sleepover. They lay together on the floor in sleeping bags, and tell each other

09:07that they'll be sad when it's time to leave for college. The boys express their bro love for each

09:12other and pass out drunk. The following morning, Seth seems embarrassed, but Evan tries to smooth things

09:18over, by asking if he wants to hang out instead of rushing back home. They agree to go to the mall

09:23together so Evan can get a bed cover for his dorm in college. While at the mall, Seth and Evan run

09:28into Becca and Jules shopping together. Becca is there to buy a new bed cover for Jules, since Becca

09:33threw up on the one that she already had. At the end of the movie, the four of them exchange awkward

09:38apologies and get along together. Jules suggests Seth to come with her so he can buy her some foundation

09:43to cover up her bruised eye. Meanwhile, Evan and Becca decide to go shopping for bed covers together.
