00:00The Residence and Pulse have both been canceled at Netflix after their first seasons.
00:05The two shows both premiered in the spring and had four-week runs in Netflix's internal
00:09worldwide top 10 rankings. As usual, Netflix does cost-benefit analysis in making renewal
00:14or cancellation decisions. The Residence is a White House-set murder mystery starring Uzo Aduba
00:20as a detective. Had the Shondaland series gone forward, the plan was for it to become an anthology
00:25with Aduba's character taking on a new case each season.
00:30I see feet. Mr. President, this house needs to be treated like a crime scene. There may be a
00:35murderer out there. As for Pulse, the show was Netflix's first take at a medical procedural.
00:41You want to suffer more than the people you hurt because if you do, maybe they'll forgive you.
00:46While promoting season one of the show, the stars shared what storylines they'd love to see explored
00:50in a then-potential second season. I mean, I feel like there's so many possibilities.
00:54I mean, there's a lot of people I didn't get to talk to in the hospital very much.
00:58Like, I really did love all of my scenes with Jack. Like, Cole, whenever I got to the scene
01:03in which Cole and I were in the surgery room together during the blackout, it was very fun.
01:07You two hate each other.
01:08Yeah. Well, but I think there's also a little bit of, like, I see you.
01:11Yeah.
01:12I think that there's something really interesting there, and I would love to kind of see more.
01:17I want to meet my dad.
01:18I want to meet Alexander Phillips because we met my mom, but I think there's a lot of fun to explore,
01:24you know, whoever he is and his big personality because he likely has one.
01:29Yeah. Totally.
01:30But, yeah, I think it'll be fun.
01:31It's worth noting Pulse's release coincided with growing momentum for Max's hospital drama The Pit,
01:36which had its first season finale the week after Pulse debuted.
