Part 6 of the walkthrough of Mass Effect for the PC.
Transcript
00:00To be continued...
00:30I've had my office rearranged five times now.
01:00A lot of times? Why? What do they want?
01:04How should I know? It's not like Keepers offer an explanation for what they're doing.
01:09And yet, everyone just lets them go on doing whatever it is they do.
01:13What choice do we have? If you try to stop them, they just shut down and another one replaces them.
01:19Just strange that we know so little about them.
01:22Not to mention frustrating.
01:30Welcome. I am Nelina.
01:36I don't recognize you as one of our expected clients today.
01:41Would you like me to see when the Consort will be able to meet with you?
01:45Can't I just go in?
01:47I'm afraid not.
01:48Yeah, you must understand there are many who seek the Consort's services.
01:52But if you wish to leave your name, she'll make every effort to meet with you.
01:57What do you do here, Nelina?
01:59I'm one of the Consort's Acolytes.
02:01Many of the people here today will not see the Consort, but they expect to be attended to just the same.
02:07It's our job to ensure that they leave contented.
02:11What exactly do you attend to?
02:13Well, each Acolyte has her unique abilities.
02:17Some soothe with song, others with conversation.
02:22As much as possible, we seek to match the needs of our clients to the skills of our Acolytes.
02:28My specialty is touch.
02:30My fingertips can find every tension point in your body and relieve it.
02:35I'd like to try out your services.
02:38Excellent. I'll add you to our client list.
02:40We should be able to see you in three or four months.
02:48Nobody's worth that much of a wait.
02:51Well, that's not for me to judge.
02:53I have your name and you'll be contacted.
02:55Is there anything else?
02:59What is the Consort? What does she do?
03:02It's difficult to explain.
03:04She's many things to many people and something different for each.
03:08Some seek her for advice, some for entertainment, others still for pleasure.
03:13Most of the time, our clients won't realize what they were seeking until after she has provided it for them.
03:20You make her sound like some kind of oracle.
03:23No, not in the usual sense.
03:26She's merely a woman.
03:27A woman with remarkable compassion and a generous spirit.
03:30I suggest you make an appointment and see for yourself.
03:36I think I'm done here.
03:38Oh, well, I hope you'll return again in the future.
03:40We always enjoy seeing new clients.
03:44Nalina.
03:45Yes, Shaira?
03:47Send the commander up to see me.
03:49I wish to speak with him.
03:52Yes, of course, mistress.
03:53Ah, it appears the Consort has taken notice of you.
04:05She'd like to meet with you now.
04:07Where do I go?
04:08Just head upstairs.
04:10She'll be waiting for you.
04:18I see even the humans find the Consort irresistible.
04:21This is my first time.
04:25I can't believe I'd even come sooner.
04:36You're with the Alliance?
04:37My brother's a private back on Earth.
04:51I've heard a great many things about you since your arrival here in our citadel.
05:02What exactly do you do?
05:04That depends on your needs.
05:05I offer advice to some.
05:08Comfort to others.
05:10I have a certain problem that could use your expertise.
05:13Maybe I can help.
05:16I have a friend, Septimus.
05:19A retired Turian general.
05:21I won't discuss the details, but he wanted me to be more than I could be.
05:25We had a falling out.
05:27Now he spends his days in Korra's den, drinking and spreading lies about me.
05:32If you would speak to him as a fellow soldier, I believe he will listen to you and let the matter be.
05:37What happened between you?
05:40I respect his privacy too much to go into the details.
05:43If he wishes to tell you what happened, that is his prerogative.
05:48What exactly do you want me to tell him?
05:50Appeal to a sense of honor.
05:52Remind him of his position as a general.
05:54If you can convince him to stop spreading lies about me, I would be very grateful.
06:01I would be very grateful.
06:05Now I must ask you to take your leave.
06:08I have many clients waiting to see me.
06:09I have to admit I'm a little nervous.
06:26That's understandable.
06:28Then you're even unsure what to expect.
06:30I don't get me wrong.
06:33I've only heard good things about me, hot sort.
06:36It's just...
06:37Welcome to Presidium Tourism Terminal 3.
06:57Here in the financial district, a number of businesses offer various goods and services to their exclusive clientele.
07:04The statue you see before you was commissioned to honor the Krogan soldiers who gave their lives to protect Citadel Space during the Rakhni Wars.
07:14In the aftermath of the Krogan Rebellions, several embassies petitioned to have the statue removed.
07:20However, this motion was eventually quashed by the Council.
07:25Tell me more about the Krogan Rebellions.
07:27In recognition of their efforts during the Rakhni Wars, the Krogan were granted several new colony worlds by the Council.
07:36Over the next 400 years, the Krogan species began to expand.
07:41Blessed with an extremely high birth rate, their numbers began to swell.
07:45Faced with a critical overpopulation crisis, the Krogan started a violent colonization of nearby worlds inhabited by other Council species.
07:56The Krogan Rebellions had begun.
08:00For a full century, the Council and its member species fought to bring the Krogan under control.
08:05With the aid of the newly discovered Turian Empire, they were ultimately successful.
08:11You needed the Krogan to stop the Rakhni, then you needed the Turians to stop the Krogan.
08:16So who's going to stop the Turians?
08:18I am sorry, but that question is beyond my programming parameters.
08:22The Turians are members of the Citadel Council.
08:25They are not a threat to galactic peace.
08:28Why did the Council fight so hard to keep the statue?
08:31The Krogan were instrumental in saving the galaxy from the Rakhni threat.
08:36The Council believed this historical fact should not be forgotten.
08:40The Council also hoped that preserving the memorial would improve diplomatic relations with the Krogan
08:46and bring about a peaceful resolution to the rebellions.
08:50Unfortunately, the Krogan refused to negotiate
08:53and only surrendered after their population and homeworlds had been ravaged by the Turians.
09:01What were the Rakhni wars?
09:02Nearly 2200 years ago, explorers seeking to expand Citadel space
09:08opened up mass relays leading to systems controlled by the Rakhni.
09:12A highly intelligent and aggressive insect race,
09:16the Rakhni unleashed a war of conquest against the rest of the galaxy
09:20that lasted for nearly three centuries.
09:22The emergence of the Krogan finally turned the tide in favor of the Citadel species.
09:30Krogan forces provided the numbers necessary to halt the Rakhni advance and drive them back.
09:36The Krogan then pursued their retreating fleets.
09:40Able to survive the harsh environments of the Rakhni homeworlds,
09:44the Krogan hunted their enemy to extinction.
09:46Was it really necessary to wipe them out?
09:50I am sorry, but a value judgment of that nature goes beyond my programming.
09:58That's all for now.
10:00Thank you for using Avena. Have a pleasant day.
10:16I am sorry, but a good day.
10:46Who are you?
10:47This one's face name is Della Ninder, though many in this place simply refer to it as Della.
10:56Please take time to examine the fine goods it has for purchase, all of great worth.
11:04What exactly do you sell?
11:07Only the finest and most luxurious items that credits can buy.
11:12This one is able to procure almost any item the human would desire, for a price, naturally.
11:24Why do you refer to yourself as this one and it?
11:29For the same reason that humans are so inquisitive. It is part of our culture.
11:35Specifically, Hanar only refer to themselves in the first person with family, or intimates.
11:44And we rarely do so with other species. It is just our way.
11:50Who are you?
11:54This one's face name is Della Ninder, though many in this place simply refer to it as Della.
12:03Please take time to examine the fine goods it has for purchase, all of great worth.
12:09Show me your items.
12:11Oh, this one is pleased to do so, human. You will not be disappointed.
12:17I don't love it.
12:19If this one has no idea, you will not be disappointed.
12:22Take time to examine the wall.
12:24I'm sure to take time to the 15th of the 횟 and the Finals.
12:26So, I'm sure to have a look at the floor.
12:28There's no space.
12:30I have to say something like this one.
12:32I don't know if you have the floor.
12:34I don't know if you were at the floor.
12:36Unless you're there, I will be there.
12:38I cannot wait.
12:39After I am thinking with you and I will be at the floor.
12:42Because you are at the floor.
12:44Then I am not going with you.
12:46I don't know.
13:16I don't know.
13:46I don't know.
14:16Look at that bug thing over there.
14:21What's it doing?
14:22Please do not disturb the Keepers.
14:25Welcome to Presidium Tourism Terminal 2.
14:30You are standing near the base of the Citadel Tower, one of the Presidium's most recognizable and important structures.
14:36Behind me is the Spectacular Relay Monument, a scale model representation of a Prothean mass relay.
14:44To your left is one of the Keepers, the enigmatic caretakers of the Citadel, working on a control panel.
14:52You may see Keepers involved in various tasks throughout all levels of the Citadel.
14:57We ask that you do not interfere with them in any way.
14:59Keepers are essential to the smooth operation of the Citadel.
15:04Obstructing their daily work will result in harsh penalties, including incarceration and rehabilitation.
15:11Tell me about the Relay Monument.
15:14Discovered by the Asari who first arrived at the Citadel, the Relay Monument is one of the Station's most interesting and controversial features.
15:23What is the meaning behind this striking piece of art?
15:26Is it a tribute to Prothean Vanity, a reminder of their conquest of the galaxy through mass relay technology?
15:34Or perhaps it is a symbol of unity, a Prothean acknowledgement that the Relays would eventually lead other species here to the Citadel?
15:42No one can say for sure, making the Relay Monument a favorite topic of discussion among academics and scholars.
15:52Tell me about the Citadel Tower.
15:53Housing both the Council Chambers and Citadel Control, the Tower is one of the most important buildings on the Station.
16:01Access to these areas is restricted to those with the appropriate clearance.
16:06What happens in Citadel Control?
16:08Citadel Control handles all incoming and outbound transit.
16:13Every ship within 2,000 kilometers of the Citadel is under the jurisdiction of Citadel Control.
16:19At peak capacity, they are responsible for monitoring upwards of 1,000 vessels.
16:27I'd like to hear more about the Council Chambers.
16:30The business of the Council, which often has far-reaching effects on the galactic community, is conducted in a room at the apex of the Citadel Tower.
16:38The Council Chambers themselves are truly a magnificent sight to behold, though few get to experience the view in person.
16:46Typically, only the Councilors, Ambassadors, and high-ranking officials, along with various support staff, are allowed access.
16:55What if someone has business with the Council?
16:56The average citizen must go through the proper channels if they wish an audience with the Council.
17:02This is usually arranged through their respective Ambassadors.
17:07Even then, few are given access to the actual Council Chambers.
17:11In most cases, the Ambassador acts on behalf of the Citizen.
17:15I'm scheduled to have an audience with the Council.
17:18Only a handful of visitors to the Citadel are ever granted that privilege.
17:22I would be jealous, but that is outside the scope of my programming.
17:27I'd like to know more about the Keepers.
17:30Little is known about these peaceful servants of the Citadel, though they are essential to the operation and maintenance of the entire station.
17:38Citadel regulations protect the Keepers against interference during the performance of their tasks.
17:44Failure to comply will result in harsh penalties.
17:47Keepers can be seen in all sections of the Citadel, but are typically found in and around the Tower.
17:54Any particular reason there are so many Keepers in this area?
17:57The Keepers do not communicate with other species.
18:01It is assumed, however, that the Tower houses the Citadel's primary control systems.
18:06Many of the station's systems, such as navigation and life support, function automatically.
18:11It is believed the Keepers operate those systems from inside the Tower's inaccessible core.
18:16The Keepers also make frequent appearances in the Council Chamber itself, though they appear to be just passing through on their way to some other destination.
18:28That's all for now.
18:30Thank you for using Avena.
18:32Have a pleasant day.
18:34Oh.
18:55Oh.
18:55Let's go.
19:25I doubt it. We've made our reports. Now we just have to trust Ambassador Udina.
19:31No, we don't, sir.
19:55No, we don't.
20:25Commander Shepard, Garrus Vakarian. I was the officer in charge of the C-Sec investigation into Saren.
20:31Come across anything I should know about?
20:34Saren's a specter. Most of his activities are classified. I couldn't find anything solid.
20:39But I know he's up to something. Like you humans say, I feel it in my gut.
20:43I think the Council's ready for us, Commander.
20:45Good luck, Shepard. Maybe they'll listen to you.
