00:03Sidwell sets Selina up, and Agent Jocelyn Jacks emerges.
00:09Here is your General Hospital Recap on what happened in Port Charles.
00:13Today, Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025
00:16Selina Wu arrived at Windermere to meet with Sidwell.
00:21She falsely assumed he wanted to further discuss setting up a high-stakes poker game.
00:26Instead, he asked her there to warn her that she was about to go to war with Sonny.
00:31Selina told him he was misinformed because she was not going to war with Sonny,
00:35and in fact, she went to great lengths to stay on his good side.
00:40Clearly setting Selina up to take the fall,
00:42Sidwell said her peaceful understanding changed with Sonny tonight
00:45when she firebombed Charlie's and almost got Christina killed.
00:50Sidwell smugly raised his glass to her, and she angrily acknowledged that he had set her up.
00:56Selina argued her word would carry more weight with Sonny,
00:59and he would believe her over Sidwell.
01:01Citing that she has crossed him a couple of times in the past,
01:04Sidwell told her not to be so sure.
01:07She felt his ploy was desperate because he knew Sonny was already onto him.
01:11Calm and confident, Sidwell said Sonny would see the evidence point to her associates starting the fire,
01:17and who knew what other evidence Sonny would uncover about her involvement.
01:21Sidwell concluded her best option was to leave town immediately.
01:25Selina said she was not going to leave after having worked so hard to build her business.
01:30Sidwell said she could return with his blessing after he had taken care of Sonny himself.
01:35With Sonny gone, Sidwell claimed she would be returning to a much better Port Charles.
01:40In the end, Selina said she guessed she had a plane to catch.
01:43After she left, Sidwell looked smug in his victory.
01:46At the hospital, Alexis was in Mama Bear protection mode, with Christina in her room.
01:52Christina reassured her she was okay, and went on to explain what happened.
01:56She smelled gasoline when she walked into Charlie's, and before she knew it, everything was on fire.
02:03After the fire extinguisher was not enough, she felt she would not have made it if Marco had not saved her.
02:08Alexis was grateful for Marco's actions, and told Christina that if she had died, she would have killed Sonny with her bare hands.
02:17Christina was reluctant to blame her dad.
02:19Molly came in needing help to fill out Christina's admission forms, because Nurse Deanna needed her identification.
02:26Alexis left to take care of the paperwork, leaving Molly and Christina together.
02:30Nurse Deanna caringly helped a distressed Alexis complete the paperwork at the nurse's station.
02:35Molly commended Christina for staying calm, and not jumping to defend Sonny, when Alexis went after him at Charlie's.
02:43Christina felt, regardless of the reasons, that her dad was not at fault, and knew Alexis was just scared for her child.
02:50Molly reaffirmed how much she loved Christina, and she did not want to lose her,
02:54which brought a smile to Alexis' face as she walked up.
02:57Alexis reiterated she could not lose another daughter, which meant they were contractually obligated to outlive her.
03:03They agreed they need each other, and cannot let anything separate them.
03:08In Natalia's room, Marco sat, holding her hand.
03:12Grief stricken, he was in shock that she had died, and that everything would end this way.
03:17He said,
03:18We had our problems, but I love you, I do love you mom.
03:21At the nurse's station, Lucas shared his worry with Elizabeth and Isaiah,
03:25that he was not sure what to do, and if he should check on Marco.
03:28As they were trying to comfort and reassure him,
03:32Anna and Chase said Lucas could help by helping them figure out what led to Natalia's death.
03:37Lucas told them about Natalia's text messages, which were all gibberish.
03:41He was letting them know that Marco said she would sometimes drink and text when Marco came out.
03:47Lucas rushed to his side as Anna, Chase, Elizabeth, and Isaiah quickly followed.
03:52After Anna offered her condolences for his loss, Marco asked for information about what happened.
03:57Anna explained how they found Natalia unresponsive in her hotel room,
04:02and Isaiah explained they were unable to resuscitate her.
04:05At that point, Isaiah said they speculated the cause of death was an overdose.
04:10Suspicious, Marco immediately asked if it was accidental or intentional.
04:15Isaiah said they did not know, but the preliminary, which is not official,
04:19autopsy results indicated a lethal combination of tranquilizers and alcohol.
04:24Marco described seeing the fire at Charlie's,
04:26and, when he saw a car in the parking lot,
04:29stopping to ensure no one was trapped inside the building.
04:33Anna told him he was a hero, to which Marco responded,
04:36I was able to save Christina, but I was not able to save my mother.
04:40They sat as Anna and Chase asked about the text messages.
04:43Marco could not show them his phone because it was still in his car at Charlie's.
04:47He confirmed that Natalia had sent drunk texts before,
04:50and thought that one of her texts earlier was trying to say,
04:53I'm sorry, but he was not sure.
04:56He confirmed he was going to her room because he thought she might need help.
05:00Lucas tried to comfort him, reminding him nothing was his fault,
05:03and he stopped at Charlie's because he knew someone might need his help.
05:07Marco questioned how Anna ended up at Natalia's hotel.
05:11She explained, with concerns about the impending plea deal,
05:14Assistant District Attorney Turner asked them to pick Natalia up,
05:18after Chase alerted Turner of Natalia's troubled episode at the christening.
05:22Marco said he felt his mother was murdered by Sonny Corinthos.
05:26He said he did not have evidence, but it was obvious, given the circumstances,
05:30that Natalia had evidence against Sonny.
05:32When he said Sonny found a way to stop her,
05:35Lucas intervened and said he should take a minute.
05:38He acknowledged his head was spinning,
05:40so Anna and Chase decided to leave him for now.
05:43After they walked off, Marco thanked Lucas for stopping him,
05:47before he admitted he knew about his mother's deal with Sonny to leave the country.
05:51Marco wanted to call his dad, but did not have his phone,
05:54and could not remember the number.
05:56Lucas said he could help with that,
05:58but needed Marco to get checked out by the doctor first.
06:01Elizabeth helped Lucas locate Sidwell's number,
06:04so he could call and inform him about Marco and Natalia.
06:07To the side, Anna and Chase discussed the possibility of Marco's accusation being right,
06:12when Anna got a text from Metro Court Security.
06:14Sidwell arrived just after Marco received the all-clear from Dr. Gannon.
06:20He expressed his sorrow for Marco losing his mother.
06:23Marco worried about how to break the news to Allison.
06:26He lamented it all being his fault,
06:28because he did not realize how much trouble his mother was in,
06:31and maybe he could have gotten to her if he had not stopped at the fire to save Christina.
06:37Sidwell looked shaken when he realized Marco could have died because of the fire he had started.
06:41Marco said,
06:43Thanks to me, Sonny's daughter is alive,
06:45and thanks to Sonny, my mother's dead,
06:48which left Sidwell confused as to how Sonny was involved in her death.
06:52Lucas and Elizabeth wondered if Sonny would really have Natalia killed.
06:56Lucas did not know what to believe,
06:57but knew it looked like a mob war was starting with Marco's family on one side,
07:01and his family on the other.
07:03At the quarter main mansion,
07:06Tracy asked Brooke Lynn if the christening palooza was over.
07:09Brooke Lynn let her know Sonny and company had checked out.
07:13Tracy was happy to hear it.
07:17Sonny talked about his special connection with Christina and how alike they were.
07:22Understanding her volatility has compelled him to protect her even more.
07:26When Jason assured him Christina's hospital room was being guarded,
07:30Sonny said his whole family would be in danger
07:32until they definitively found out who was attacking them.
07:36Sonny said he could not take losing another child
07:38and wanted to go after whomever did this so hard
07:41that they would make an example out of them
07:43and no one would ever think about coming after his family again.
07:47He felt going,
07:48quote,
07:49eye for an eye,
07:50end quote,
07:51would be effective and fair.
07:53Jason cautioned that if it were Sidwell they were going after,
07:56it would mean targeting Marco,
07:58Sidwell's only known child,
08:00who had just saved Christina.
08:02Sonny understood he owed Marco,
08:04but protecting his family would be more important than some debt of gratitude,
08:07saying,
08:08quote,
08:08if Marco ends up as collateral damage,
08:11so be it,
08:12end quote.
08:13Jason felt there were other ways to get back at Sidwell besides killing his son.
08:18Anna came to see Sonny to inform him that Natalia Ramirez was dead.
08:22She asked him to explain why one of his bodyguards
08:24was seen talking to her earlier that day
08:26and another was seen outside of her room.
08:29She informed him he was considered a person of interest
08:32and she needed to take him in for questioning.
08:35Vaughn arrived at Charlie's pub to find Jocelyn,
08:37who asked him to meet her there.
08:39Visibly disturbed,
08:40Joss told Vaughn she had not planned to come,
08:43but when she heard about the fire at Charlie's,
08:45she went to check it out for herself
08:46and could not seem to get herself to leave.
08:50Joss told Vaughn about Christina almost dying inside,
08:52and even though they were not very close anymore,
08:55she was still upset that Christina could have been killed
08:58just because she was the daughter of Sonny Corinthos.
09:01Having read Jocelyn's history,
09:03Vaughn shared he knew about Sonny being married to her mom
09:06and being the father of Donna and Morgan,
09:08who he also knew died in a car bombing.
09:11Joss acknowledged there was plenty of blame to go around for Morgan's death,
09:15but the bottom line was that Morgan died because he was Sonny's son,
09:18which was the same reason both Michael and Christina almost died.
09:22Increasingly upset,
09:23Jocelyn said her family keeps getting hurt,
09:26end quote,
09:27Sonny Corinthos brings death and destruction wherever he goes,
09:30end quote.
09:32Joss said she has tried to let go of her anger for Sonny
09:34time and time again,
09:36but too many people she loves keep getting hurt,
09:38and she no longer has any sympathy for him.
09:41She finally admitted to Vaughn and herself
09:43that a large part of her motivation for joining the World Security Bureau
09:47was more personal and less altruistic
09:50than just an idealistic version of justice.
09:53She wanted to get high enough in the World Security Bureau
09:55to take Sonny down.
09:57Now, Joss figured Vaughn could turn her in
10:00and get her kicked out of the World Security Bureau
10:02for having an unhealthy personal vendetta,
10:05making her unfit for the job.
10:07Vaughn felt being too idealistic would quickly get her jaded anyway,
10:11but having a concrete goal,
10:12like taking Sonny down,
10:14would sustain her even through the toughest of times.
10:17She asked what his goal was.
10:19He said maybe he would tell her once they knew each other better
10:21and pulled toward her to give her a kiss,
10:24a real one this time.
10:26Gio met Emma and Outback at the cafe,
10:28and they shared some more cute, flirty banter,
10:30but then Emma seriously pointed out
10:32that Gio was actually still upset
10:34from finding out about Brooklyn and Dante.
10:37She reiterated she was there for him
10:39anytime he wanted to talk.
10:40Gio told Emma that he had not figured out
10:43how to put his life back together again,
10:45but he decided to drop out of Port Charles University.
10:49Emma was confused as to why he would choose to leave.
10:52Gio said he was on a music scholarship
10:53and supposed to be a first chair violinist in the orchestra,
10:57which was a huge responsibility and honor.
10:59Because he had no intention of ever playing the violin again,
11:03he felt he was no longer deserving of the scholarship,
11:06would lose it,
11:07and then not be able to afford college on his lifeguard salary.
11:11She encouraged him to borrow money from his family or Sonny,
11:14but he did not want to.
11:16She then suggested he wait until the fall
11:18to decide whether or not to drop his scholarship,
11:21because he might feel different about playing music by then.
11:24Gio saw Emma's point,
11:25but stated he needed a clean break from his old life,
11:28which he felt was full of nothing but lies.
11:31He said his passion was stolen from him,
11:33and his music would be hollow without it.
11:36Gio promised he would not make any decisions
11:38about dropping out for now.
11:40Emma suggested that in the meantime,
11:42he find other things he was also passionate about.
11:45She reminded him that he could help her
11:47take down Professor Dalton.
11:49Emma said they might have to do something drastic,
11:51and possibly illegal,
11:53and wondered if Sonny would give them any pointers
11:55on breaking the law and getting away with it.
11:58Gio looked at her like she was crazy,
12:00and responded with an emphatic no,
12:02quote, definitely not,
12:04not even for a good cause, end quote.
