00:00So today we had the great pleasure of welcoming Kenya Airways to Gatwick for
00:06the first time with a direct service to Nairobi three times a week. Fantastic
00:11carrier that has really expanded our presence in Africa which is a key
00:15emerging market for us. This new Kenya route is great news for the local region
00:20because it will really support local trade and local businesses. Just last
00:25year 1.8 billion was done in total trade between the UK and Kenya. This is also a
00:31great opportunity for tourism both inbound and outbound for local residents
00:36that want to go and discover the wonderful riches that are in Kenya but
00:41also the 40 destinations that Kenya connects through in Nairobi but also the
00:47opportunity for people to come into our region and experience everything we have
00:51to offer. It's also a great opportunity for the diaspora here in the UK. There's
00:57over a hundred and fifty thousand in the local diaspora that still have very strong
01:02connections to Kenya. So there's lots of exciting things happening at London Gatwick.
01:07We're excited to announce that Medina is going to start very soon with Wizz Air and
01:12we also have Begcots which will be operated by Norse. I think in the next few
01:16months you're also going to see expanded presence in the Middle East as more
01:21carriers put in additional frequencies and some exciting news coming up from
01:25Asia. Gatwick is always focused on where demand is. Emerging markets show very
01:32strong demand. Africa is a key region for us. We now have 19 routes which is more
01:37than Gatwick has ever seen with several of the top full-service carriers from
01:42Africa flying into Gatwick for the first time. We've also seen huge growth in the
01:47Middle East and Asia as well. That is giving our passengers more choice to fly
01:51directly to where they want to go and also given the opportunity from people in
01:56these emerging markets to come into our region and experience everything we have to offer.
