00:04French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has once again been targeted by pro-Russian actors

00:12who this time have used its likeness to attack the LGBT movement in Moldova

00:17This image posted on Telegram and other social media networks

00:21states that Moldova has chosen a new religion

00:24It depicts people at Moldova's pride march

00:26brandishing the LGBT rainbow and Moldovan flags, chasing away an Orthodox priest

00:32Comments from some users sharing the image read that the priest is hounded by a crowd of crazed perverts

00:38while others say that Moldova is being pulled towards Europe, whose religion is sodomy

00:43However, the statements are all based on misinformation

00:46Taking a look at the fake front cover, we can see that it has the edition number 1716

00:51and that it was published on the 10th of June

00:53A search on Charlie Hebdo's official website reveals that the magazine didn't actually publish an issue on the 10th of June

00:59The closest we get is the 11th of June, which has the issue number 1716

01:04and we can see that this front cover is completely different to the one being shared online

01:09This issue doesn't deal with Moldova's pride celebrations at all

01:13Rather, it's mocking France's interior minister Bruno Retailleau, who's also the leader of the conservative Le Républicain party

01:20for his stance on the fishing industry

01:22Retailleau has often been a vocal critic of LGBT rights

01:26including opposing the 2013 Mariage pour tous law that legalized same-sex marriage in France

01:32Moldova's pride march took place on the 15th of June and was subject to other false reports at the time

01:37such as incorrect claims that a counter-protest against supposed LGBT propaganda was met with police brutality

01:44But ultimately, this turned out to be false

01:47with EU vs. Disinfo reporting that pro-Russian actors harassed the pride march

01:52and that police were firm but fair in keeping them apart
