00:00Fake Charlie Hebdo cover attacking Moldova pride circulates online.

00:07French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has once again been targeted by pro-Russian actors,

00:13who this time have used its likeness to attack the LGBT movement in Moldova.

00:18This image, posted on Telegram and other social media networks, states that Moldova has chosen

00:23a new religion.

00:24It depicts people at Moldova's pride march, brandishing the LGBT rainbow and Moldovan flags,

00:30chasing away an orthodox priest.

00:33Comments from some users sharing the image read that the priest is hounded by a crowd

00:36of crazed perverts, while others say that Moldova is being pulled towards Europe, whose religion

00:42is sodomy.

00:43However, the statements are all based on misinformation.

00:46Taking a look at the fake front cover, we can see that it has the edition number 1716 and

00:51that it was published on the 10th of June.

00:54A search on Charlie Hebdo's official website reveals that the magazine didn't actually

00:58publish an issue on the 10th of June.

01:00The closest we get is the 11th of June, which has the issue number 1716, and we can see that

01:06this front cover is completely different to the one being shared online.

01:10This issue doesn't deal with Moldova's pride celebrations at all.

01:13Rather, it's mocking France's Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, who's also the leader of the

01:18Conservative Le Républicain Party, for its stance on the fishing industry.

01:22Retailleau has often been a vocal critic of LGBT rights, including opposing the 2013

01:28Mariage Pour Tous law that legalised same-sex marriage in France.

01:32Moldova's Pride march took place on the 15th of June and was subject to other false reports

01:37at the time, such as incorrect claims that a counter-protest against supposed LGBT propaganda

01:43was met with police brutality.

01:45But ultimately, this turned out to be false, with EU vs Disinfo reporting that pro-Russian

01:50actors harassed the Pride march and that police were firm but fair in keeping them apart.
