Introduce yourself please.
00:02
Daniel Sadler.
00:04
I'm Gillian, Daniel's mum.
00:06
And I'm Michael, Daniel's dad.
00:08
And where are you from?
00:09
Belfast.
00:10
And what are you guiding them today?
00:12
Marketing.
00:14
And what was it like today when you walked across that stage?
00:18
A bit overwhelming.
00:20
But I'm also very proud of myself.
00:22
Coming all the way, it's been an excellent journey.
00:24
I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming in the future.
00:28
How much work went done today?
00:30
Yeah, there was a lot of hard work.
00:32
And a lot of research went into it.
00:34
A lot of time and dedication.
00:36
And I'm just glad it's paid off in the end.
00:38
And I got this far.
00:40
And what's the plans for? Are you taking a break?
00:42
Yeah, I'm going to take a break.
00:44
And hopefully go travelling.
00:46
Take a gap year as I can.
00:48
And then figure out what's next.
00:50
And how proud are you today?
00:52
I'm really proud.
00:54
Enormously proud. It's a tremendous achievement for him.
00:56
He really has worked down hard to get here.
00:58
We couldn't be proud of him.
01:00
Can you introduce yourself please?
01:02
I'm Terry Murray.
01:03
And I studied business in my country.
01:04
And I also University, McGee.
01:06
And what was it like today walking across the stage and packing up at the moment?
01:10
Very good. Very teary.
01:12
Really worth it though, in the end.
01:14
And how many years of work went on this?
01:17
Three whole years. Long, long years.
01:19
Was there a particular tough year or anything?
01:22
Not really, just working with deadlines in advance.
01:25
And it will go the way I want it.
01:27
And what's the plan now?
01:29
Are you going to take a wee break or are you going to go straight into work?
01:31
I'm moving to Belfast with my friends for a year and see how it goes.
01:35
Are you from Belfast or are you from there?
01:37
No, I'm from there.
01:39
Your first day, your first day from today.
01:41
Congratulations. Thank you very much.
01:43
Can you just introduce yourself please?
01:45
I'm, oh, we're fine.
01:46
And where are you from?
01:47
I'm Kirk's Burgess.
01:48
Kirk's Burgess.
01:49
And why did you graduate on the day?
01:51
Business with marketing.
01:53
Specialised in marketing.
01:54
Wow.
01:55
And what was it like walking across the stage today and packing up at the moment?
01:57
Oh, I was, I couldn't, I forgot how to walk.
01:59
But I was like standing on the side.
02:01
I actually, I was like standing there and I was like, oh my god, I can't walk over.
02:04
And then I closed my eyes and then I was walking across.
02:06
And I was like, oh my god, I didn't know where you were even near him.
02:08
But it was, it was so fine after.
02:10
And then I got off and then my best friend's beside me as well.
02:12
So that was fine.
02:14
And how many years of work went on this?
02:16
Three.
02:17
Three.
02:18
Did you have any tough years or?
02:20
No.
02:21
No, you've reached for it.
02:22
It was fine, I loved it.
02:24
And what's the plan tonight?
02:26
Are you taking a wee break or are you going to go through any work?
02:28
I'm doing a masters in Belfast for marketing next year.
02:31
I was going to do management but on the side of marketing there probably will be more than I've learned rather than just off textbooks.
02:39
So, data, management and then post school for everything.
02:44
And would you have any advice for students maybe coming into their first year?
02:48
I'd say definitely live here for first year.
02:53
Because I think I had such a better experience just living up.
02:56
Because then I have like so many other friends not just from my course.
02:59
And then even my friend Anne was behind the camera.
03:02
Thanks.
03:03
I met her in first year just from going out and stuff.
03:06
Like I didn't, I wouldn't have been friends with her.
03:08
I would have been alone or sitting in first year if I hadn't lived up my first year.
03:12
And then actually speaking to people.
03:14
I didn't think I was going to speak to people but it's just so much easier.
03:18
Like finding friends and stuff.
03:20
So if you can live up in first year but if you can.
03:23
Especially in there.
03:24
Spend more time up in there.
03:26
Even though I'd never be up here.
03:28
Do you have peace?
03:29
And Beth.
03:30
Away from Beth.
03:31
I'm from there.
03:32
Away from there.
03:33
And where did you graduate today?
03:34
I graduated from work in.
03:35
And what was it like today walking across that stage?
03:38
We've had an air fracking but once you're over there ended as work.
03:41
So it's all good.
03:42
And what was many years of work on this?
03:46
I did two years in Belfast.
03:48
Then I got my frightening year here in Derry.
03:50
So three years of work was hard work.
03:52
But it's all worth it.
03:53
Was it a particularly hard year?
03:55
Not really.
03:56
I think Ulster is very helpful in everything they have to do.
03:58
So I was never really struggling with the walls and the lecturers was there for me.
04:02
And what's the plans like for you?
04:04
Do you want to take a break or are you going through any work?
04:06
So I actually got myself a wee job there a few weeks ago.
04:09
So just kind of straight online to see what it's like and see where it takes me.
04:13
And have you got any advice for first year school?
04:16
Just to enjoy it really.
04:18
Like as long as you enjoy it and try and do anything you're ready to do and enjoy it.
04:23
So I didn't catch you today.
04:24
My name's Hugh.
04:25
And Hugh, you're a proud father today.
04:27
I'm a proud parent.
04:28
I've got the last, the youngest through uni now.
04:31
So all good.
04:32
Well done now.
04:33
What was it like seeing her walk across the stage today?
04:35
It was emotional.
04:36
Her mum and me.
04:38
It was good but she's put the hard work in and she's got herself a job out of it as well.
04:44
So I'm very proud.
04:45
Very proud.
04:46
Very proud.
04:47
Very proud.
04:48
Very proud.
