00:00For Jurassic World Rebirth, we have this massive orchestra
00:03and choir and everything, and we're going to get to record it
00:07at Abbey Road.
00:08Jonathan asked, can I come along to the recording sessions?
00:10And he said, maybe, you know, I could play with the orchestra
00:13for the movie.
00:14I played in an orchestra when I was 18.
00:17If you could have told me at that age that one day there
00:20was an opportunity to play with 105-piece orchestra
00:23at Abbey Road with Alexandre d'Esplat,
00:25conducting both the John Williams score
00:28and also his own incredible original score.
00:30I would not quite believe it.
00:32Woo!
00:36Hello, John.
00:37We invited Jonathan Bailey to sit with our great carina section
00:41near the principal chair.
00:43I sat there in awe of all the musicians.
00:55The dream was to play really quietly in the back.
00:58To start with, he was just playing with the professional players.
01:09And then at the end of that take, Alexander was like,
01:11OK, do you want to do the solo?
01:13Which is an intimidating situation to be in.
01:15So, clarinet, there's a solo.
01:18Come on, let's try.
01:19Sure.
01:20All right.
01:21So, clarinet is playing unison with the alto flute.
01:25And there's this very beautiful moment when the character played by
01:29Charlton Bailey put his hand on one of these dinosaurs for the first time.
01:34And he did great.
01:50Everybody was smiling and happy and shearing.
01:52Oh, God.
01:54Brilliant.
01:55That was a highlight.
01:56A highlight of my life.
01:58I just played with the orchestra, which I'm still processing.
02:04I'm sort of shaking.
02:05It's like a total dream come true.
02:07There's so much serendipity for me to be in that room at that time where that music cue
02:16came up that happened to be a clarinet solo that also happened to be Dr. Henry interacting
02:21with the dinosaur for the first time.
02:22So, we give you a part which is not in B-flat.
02:25With that, you have to transpose.
02:26Yes, maestro.
02:28Alexander is a hero of mine anyway, but to have him go sound pretty good was like a badge
02:35of honor.
02:36Never mind the pressure.
02:37He went through it and he did a great job.
02:40It was fun.
02:41The orchestra was happy to have him there.
02:43The only thing I would say to young kids is just find something you love and just keep
02:46going because you never know when it all just comes into an alignment like that.
02:49It was a very unique and unbelievably surreal but joyful experience.
02:56That is literally the highlight of my career.
