00:00The transgender swimmer, Leah Thomas, is to have their titles and records stripped by the University of Pennsylvania,
00:07following pressure from the Donald Trump administration.
00:10Let's get straight into the former Olympic swimmer now, Sharon Davis, NBA.
00:14Sharon, we've got a quick couple of minutes with you here.
00:16You must be delighted. At last, justice has been served for all those poor women who were denied medals by a biological man.
00:25Yes, absolutely. You know, as you say, justice has been served.
00:28However, you know, for nearly 18 months, this university made all their female athletes change next to this biological male who's fully intact,
00:37who made it absolutely obvious that they were still attracted to females.
00:41And when those girls complained and said, you know, we're unhappy about this loss of privacy,
00:46they were told to adjust their thinking and they would be sent to see psychologists blackmarked and have their careers wrecked if they carried on.
00:53So, I mean, there's an awful lot of apologizing to do. It's taken four years for them to do this.
00:58I have to be honest and say, I don't think it's through the goodwill of their heart that they want to protect women's sport.
01:02I think that Donald Trump saying that he will remove their federal funding has made a huge difference, about $175 million, I believe.
01:09But they have done the right thing, you know, at long last.
01:11And let's hope that we can make all the other sports do the same.
01:14There's still 40 sports here in the UK, Martin, that are not doing it, even after the Supreme Court ruling.
01:20And, you know, the LTA, for example, just about to have Wimbledon.
01:23They look after the elite, 1%.
01:25All of their other female tennis players are subjected to having to play men.
