00:00Kitty Norman is the club captain at Bournemouth Sports women's football team in the UK.
00:05She's a fan of the reigning champions England.
00:09Yeah, I'm really excited for the girls.
00:12I think there's definitely a lot of pressure on them being reigning champs.
00:16However, I think, yeah, from what I've seen, they're definitely ready for it.
00:21And yeah, I've got that determination for it.
00:23I want to talk about the business of women's football because ticket sales have smashed records
00:28and big brands are bumping up sponsorship revenue by an expected 112%.
00:33Women's football sells, doesn't it?
00:36It does. It really does.
00:38And it's so good that we're finally getting the opportunity to sell ourselves in that sense.
00:44And yeah, it just leads to so much more other opportunities.
00:48And that kind of then boosts from the bottom, working its way to the top as well, which is great.
00:53Well, Deloitte predicts that women's sports will generate over ÂŁ2.35 billion in revenue by 2025.
01:00Football's going to lead the charge.
01:02How is that going to transform the sport at both elite and that grassroots level you're talking about?
01:07I think it's really exciting.
01:11There's definitely been this kind of barrier that we've kind of struggled to get past.
01:17But I think, you know, the women bringing it home has been a huge kind of boost for that.
01:24And that's only going to have a positive impact on everything else.
01:27As a club, Bournemouth Sports getting promoted last season, we definitely struggled financially.
01:34And, you know, getting that kind of publicity, you know, getting a bit more on our social media has a huge impact with, you know, people wanting to sponsor, get involved.
01:45So we're finding this season a lot more people want to get involved.
01:47And that's just going to be, you know, for any club as the years go on.
01:52And they see that we're here to, you know, play and really entertain as well.
01:58Well, the stadiums are filling out fast, aren't they?
02:01What do you think is the lure of women's football?
02:04Is it just that it is the beautiful game?
02:08Absolutely.
02:09It's a beautiful game, whether it's men or women playing it.
02:12Everyone loves to see it.
02:14Any sport live is just amazing.
02:16Now, in China, we've seen big success in the Asian Women's Champions League.
02:22Wuhan won that inaugural competition.
02:26How do you think China is helping women's football grow in popularity and in prestige?
02:34It's an interesting one.
02:36I think kind of champion leagues like that are always going to have a positive impact because it's a way for people to be able to watch the sport.
02:44And, you know, with the women kind of getting involved with that, it's always going to be beneficial.
02:51You see it kind of happening everywhere.
02:53And England being a really good leader in that sense of having that kind of place for women and girls to play and showcase themselves.
03:04It's great that China is doing the same as well.
