Belgrave Village, Birmingham The managing director of specialist urban regenerator Wavensmere Homes says the developer is targeting six new brownfield sites in the Midlands.  Wavensmere has signed deals to build on plots in Birmingham and Nottingham, and plans to secure four more sites in Wolverhampton and Leicester, James Dickens told Insider.

00:00we're an urban regeneration specialist and Belgrave Village typifies really what we try to do so it's

00:16a mixture of one and two bedroom houses and two and three bedroom apartments we've also got a

00:20splattering of full beds on this particular site but I try to build attainable stock within these

00:26city centre locations that have a positive impact on the nighttime economy and the cities in which

00:31we're trying to deliver this stock now we've recently just done a deal with Kennedy Wilson

00:35and CPP which is the Canadian teachers pension fund we've closed 260 odd units with with these two

00:44entities and we've now agreed a framework for a thousand plots in totality which I would love to

00:50focus in the east and west midlands so we're dangerous within about an hour and a half radius

00:55of Birmingham city centre so that falls into the east and west midlands quite comfortably

00:59so I really like Leicester I'd love to get a scheme up and running in there in the next couple of months

01:04Nottingham but also through into your Worcesters and your Coventry city centres we have got more

01:12stock coming through in Birmingham city which I'm really excited about and watch this space on

01:17press coverage that'll be coming through in recent months so at Waver's Bay we have a really strict

01:22matrix that I tend to operate within so I need a site that is in or on the inner ring road I need

01:29a population north of 250,000 average salary needs to be north of 32,000 and there needs to be an

01:36employment anchor and typically we won't look at sites that are under three acres if I can hit all

01:41of that criteria I know I'm able to selling to get out of these schemes
