Sci-Fi-Autor Andy Weir beglückte uns nach Der Marsianer 2021 mit einem weiteren Weltraum-Spektakel. In Deutschland unter dem Namen Der Astronaut erschienen, kletterte der Roman unter anderem auf der Liste der New York Times auf Platz 3 der Bestseller. 

Am 20. März 2026 soll die Verfilmung unter dem Originaltitel Project Hail Mary mit Ryan Gosling (La La Land, Barbie) in der Hauptrolle in die Kinos kommen. 

Darum geht's:  Der Astronaut Ryland Grace kommt eines Tages in einem Raumfahrzeug zu sich, kann sich aber an nichts erinnern. Langsam beginnt er sich die Antworten auf seine vielen Fragen zusammenpuzzeln und kommt zu dem Schluss, dass er wohl der einzige Überlebende auf einer Weltraummission ist. Die Erde steht kurz vorm Untergang und er wurde entsandt, im Tau Ceti Sonnensystem nach einer Rettung zu suchen.

Neben Gosling sind noch die deutsche Schauspielerin Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall) und Milena Vayntrub (Other Space) zu sehen. Regie führen Phil Lord und Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse).
