China can't silence 'pro-Philippines' Filipinos after former senator ban
Malacañang on July 2, 2025 says that China could not silence 'pro-Philippines' Filipinos after the Chinese government sanctioned former senator Francis Tolentino for defending the country's maritime claims. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said while it was the right of China to ban Tolentino, it could not stop 'true Filipinos' from voicing their support on the Philippine government's stand on the West Philippine Sea.

00:07dahil sa kanyang naging stance over the West Philippine Sea issue.
00:19But as a follow-up lang po ma'am, given this move by the Chinese government,
00:24does it send a chilling effect to Filipino officials who are very vocal when it comes to the South China Sea West Philippine Sea issue?
01:03As sabi nga ng Pangulo, we will not yield even an inch of our territory to a foreign power.
