00:00Yeah.
00:01Claire Gall with Wink News in Fort Myers.
00:07What is your direction to ICE when it comes to arresting farm workers here illegally,
00:11other workers in industries that are pretty critical to Florida's economy?
00:14Well, we're very much cognizant of that.
00:17And as you know, I won the farmers by 92 percent, and I'm not going to be abandoning my farmers.
00:22We were strong on the borders, but we're also strong for the farmers and for others in the
00:27hotel industry, et cetera.
00:28You know, we have similar situations.
00:31And Christy and I, and we'll be working with Ron in a lot of the states.
00:35We're going to work something where the farmers can be responsible for some of the people
00:39that have been.
00:40They have people, Ron, for 10, 15 years that they know very well.
00:43We're going to put them responsible and have, we're going to issue a form of a card or document,
00:49and the farmers are going to be responsible for these people.
00:52They're not going to have citizenship, but they'll be working, they'll be paying taxes.
00:56We need to get our farmers the people they need.
00:58Otherwise, our farmers aren't going to be able to do their land.
01:00You know, it was tried once before, many, many years ago, where there was a very strong
01:04guy.
01:05And he got everybody out and every farm almost in the country, but every farm in California,
01:11every farm in Iowa, almost all the farms went bankrupt.
01:13They had nobody to work, and we don't want to have that situation.
01:16So we're going to work it.
01:17We're going to put our farmers and others in charge of the people that they have under
01:22them.
01:23They know the people.
01:24And I think it's going to work out really well.
01:25We're going to take care of our farmer, but we're going to get the criminals out.
01:29Yeah, go ahead, please.
01:32Go ahead, please.
01:32Go ahead, please.
