00:00The second largest phone manufacturer. We used to import 75% of the devices, but today we are exporting close to 1.8 trillion rupees worth a year, basically changing made for India to made by India.
00:16And with all of this, we have the lowest data connectivity rates, creating a truly digital democratization, allowing millions to connect, contribute and create.
00:34So all of this is not an incidental thing. This is all because of an incidental effort by the government of India, especially under Modiji's leadership.
00:45We streamlined a lot of outdated laws into future-ready regulatory framework, simplified licensing procedures, reduced regulatory burdens, and created an environment where innovation can flourish.
00:58We streamlined the spectrum management from a scarcity-based approach to an efficiency-based approach, and then we introduced a PLI scheme.
01:11We have given 4,000 crores of investment came from the private organizations, which generated 80,000 crores of revenue, and generated 25,000 jobs.
01:28And we have also streamlined the quality of service and security measures.
01:34If you look at it, recently we have developed a very innovative tool, which is financial fraud risk indicator, which proactively profiles all the individuals based on their risk profile and prevents transmission of the payment from one person to another.
01:53This was so successful within the last two weeks, we were able to disconnect 50,000 bank accounts completely.
02:00So these are all the futuristic technologies we are using.
02:04And as Secretary Mittalji has said, we have a technology development fund.
02:09We have given close to 500 crores for 120 high-tech startups.
02:13Hopefully, all of these will enable us to develop quantum communications, A, automated networks, and indigenous core infrastructure.
02:25And we want to proceed with the 6G technology in a way that we can contribute to the global standards.
02:34We have missed the board for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G.
02:37Hopefully, at least 10% of the patents can be from India by 2030.
02:43So these are all our strategic priorities are the things that we have done.
02:48But still India has to go a long way.
02:50We still have to develop.
02:52As Mittalji has said, it's difficult to develop, but there is nothing impossible.
02:59Many of you may not know, but I am also a startup founder.
03:05I was a physician 25 years back.
03:07I did my residency.
03:09I did my medical college in India, Hyderabad, and then went to US.
03:13I stayed there for 25 years.
03:15I bootstrapped a business while practicing physician, and I also built a multi-billion dollar business.
03:21I came back last year, one year ago, to serve my country.
03:27And I bootstrapped with zero dollars.
03:32And I went into multiple verticals.
03:35Initially, I started with medicine, then nursing, finance, accounting, law.
03:40I conquered at least five verticals.
03:45All those companies were 60 years old.
03:47And I became a dominant player.
03:50With not real mentors, not investment, all of that.
03:55So nothing is impossible, even though there are always challenges.
03:58But if you are really passionate about building something, doing something,
04:03nothing is impossible in this world.
04:06Especially in India, you have a huge market.
04:10There is a lot of government support.
04:12And you have policies like TTDF.
04:15For all the startup people, what I suggest, you know, never give up.
04:21Build a great passionate team.
04:23Because you cannot build a product by being alone.
04:26You have to build the best people, surrounded by best people.
04:29Build a purpose-driven organization.
04:32Because at the end, people want to create something that's meaningful.
04:36And come up with ideas that are highly creative.
04:40New way of thinking rather than simply copying.
04:43And most importantly, what I noticed, you know, I also invest in a lot of companies.
04:47The reasons most startup people fail is because they build products, not solutions.
04:54There is a difference between the two.
04:56Product is something you think will work for somebody, based on your assumptions.
05:01Solution is something someone is actually looking.
05:05So that's the key differentiation.
05:07You really have to identify a painful solution for other people.
05:11That starts with a deep research.
05:14Not having any bias.
05:16And curiosity and willingness to really listen.
05:21The feedback.
05:22You know, you need to go to different, who are your end customers.
05:25Go to them.
05:26Ask about your idea.
05:28Really listen what they are saying.
05:31Do a thorough competitive market research.
05:34Look at the metrics.
05:36You know, how you can build a product in a competitive environment.
05:39And what is the real value it is creating.
05:42And then quickly start acting.
05:44Don't wait for perfection, but start right away and then build on it.
05:48Then go back, show it to them and improvise it.
05:51So doing that kind of proper research will, you know, will at least save a lot of time for you.
05:58Most people just get carried away that they have the best idea without thinking whether it really is going to solve the people.
06:06And second, sometimes there are a lot of problems, but people are not willing to take their credit card out and give you money.
06:14That's another important thing.
06:16So you have to think not only it's a painful solution, it is so painful that they can give you money.
06:21That's the second secret for success.
06:23If you don't do that, it's hard to make a successful business.
06:28And then the other couple of advices that I would give you is, you know, I mean, when you start a lot of people, there is always a fear of failure.
06:37Always remember doing something is better than not doing.
06:41Failure only defeats you if you stop learning.
06:45Even if you are a failure one time, that experience will help you make a better start up next time.
06:51So don't worry about the fear of failures.
06:53And then lot of expect, expect people that are known to you, the critics, doubters.
07:00That's obvious.
07:01That's expected.
07:02If nobody is doubting, critiquing, you're probably not doing something that's meaningful.
07:07So that's an expected one.
07:09Don't that distraction noise disturb you.
07:12Stay focused.
07:14Stay focused in a manner.
07:16Don't take up too many things.
07:17You know, a lot of entrepreneurs also want to solve too many problems at once.
07:21Don't do that.
07:22Focus.
07:23Pick one problem.
07:24Really master it.
07:26And that mastery always beats multitasking.
07:32Remember this mastery beats your multitasking.
07:35And then sometimes at some point this is not going well and you want to quit burnout, self-doubt.
07:44When that happens, go back and ask why you started in the first place.
07:49So the purpose that you started should fuel your perseverance.
07:56If your purpose is not good, then you will give up.
07:59But if your purpose is so strong that you will not give up.
08:03And ultimately the fifth most important point is gratitude and positive mindset in everything that you do.
08:10Gratitude means like, you know, saying whoever helped you from bottom to top, having that gratitude and positive mindset.
08:18You know, win-win everybody.
08:20If you are a founder, how are you going to create value for your employees, your customers?
08:25Win-win.
08:26In everything you do, the other person has to benefit from it.
08:29Having that positive mindset, they are inherently aligned with, inherently aligned with the creative power of this universe.
08:38Remember this.
08:39So make sure you have all those along with the principles that I told you.
08:44Then the possibility of your business, start-up, success is very high.
08:50So with that, and I always, with the IMC, the actual, we came for IMC Roadshow.
08:57This Roadshow, this is where, you know, the network is very important.
09:02Whether it is your coworkers, your mentors, you will get a lot of them.
09:07Because we are going to do a lot of mistakes.
09:09But when you go to these kind of large conferences, you hear different people speak.
09:14And you go around different booths.
09:16You will connect with a lot more, a lot of intellectual people.
09:20Cream of the cream come there.
09:22So your ability to form good teams, getting those right mentors is very high.
09:27Sometimes even investors.
09:29You will, you will be surprised what kind of people.
09:32Most of those places, IMC, a lot of investors come.
09:35Some private equity, venture capital people.
09:37They also want to know what's happening around.
09:39Like recently, even other country people.
09:42When I went to Japan, recently I went to Thailand,
09:47and we have an ASEAN meeting, all the different delegates.
09:50First time Japanese people told me,
09:52I heard your last year WTSA was quite successful.
09:56We want to come every year when this event happens in India.
10:00So that's the kind of positivity, the buzz that it spreads,
10:04and the connections you make.
10:06So make sure you visit those places, listen to them, and understand.
10:11And the probability of your success would be much higher.
10:14Once again, I wish you good luck and thank you.
10:17See you in Delhi soon.
10:19Lots of nuggets of wisdom and from one's own real life.
10:29It was a wonderful address.
10:30Thank you so much to the Honorable Minister.
10:32May I now request you to launch something very special
10:35that the audience has been awaiting, which is Startup World Cup 2025.
10:40I request our Honorable Minister, Dr. Chandrasekhar Paymasani,
10:44to please inaugurate that as the video plays very soon.
10:48There is one more duty of pleasure to be done and that is the launch of the Open API Hackathon.
11:16May we have the control for that as well.
11:44So those dates, 8th to 11th October, are certainly to be saved on the calendars.
11:49There's been so much said about it.
11:51For now, we would like to felicitate our esteemed guests.
11:55May I request Madan Parki to please step on stage for doing the honor,
11:59as well as Sriram Krishna, CEO India Mobile Congress, Sriram Krishna, to felicitate the Honorable Minister.
12:14It has to be with the Mysuru Peeta.
12:26The local honor.
12:31It's indeed wonderful to have had you come all the way for the special occasion on the
12:43occasion of the Matrix, as well as the India Mobile Congress Roadshow.
12:48I would now like to request for you P. Ramakrishna, after this moment, to deliver a vote of thanks.
12:59Thank you all, Bangaloreans.
13:01It's such a occasion for us to start something in Bangalore because IMC has been a tech event
13:08and we want to position something in Bangalore.
13:11Because the way and diversity of IMC at the event is pretty different from what you emphasize
13:16in other events.
13:17We want you all to be part of it.
13:20I thank Honorable MOC, Dr. Chandrasekhar Pemassani for being with us in spite of all the rush and
13:26all we had today.
13:27I'm sorry for all the inconveniences we are trying to give you up there.
13:32Dr. Neeraj Mittal, our Secretary.
13:34Very passionate.
13:35Very passionate about IMC.
13:37I know he's guiding me.
13:39He's guiding me for good.
13:41Thank you, sir, for all the guidance and we take it from here.
13:45Of course, my Chairman, Mr. Abjit Kishore.
13:50We are so honored to have him and drive the IMC as such to the next level.
13:57This is the ninth edition.
13:58We have a Startup World Cup.
14:01The winner of the World Cup is eligible for $1 million prize in San Francisco.
14:06I want these startups out here to participate in full scale.
14:11And we have a very selective process with the jury from abroad, which will select.
14:16And with that message, we want you all at IMC on 8th to 11th of October in Eshwabhumi.
14:24Good night.
14:25Thank you for the media.
14:26Dr. T. Randanji.

14:29Madan and Ritu.
