00:00Hey everyone, I'm here with Marcus, and today we're diving into everything coming in Season 9,
00:05Sins of the Haradrim, launching on July 1st.
00:08This time around, I thought we'd set the stage with a little bit of lore,
00:11so you've discovered the existence of long-lost Haradric relics
00:14powered by the blood of the great enemy, Astaroth.
00:18To keep Sanctuary secure, these dangerous relics were sealed away by Donan
00:21within Haradric's strong rooms throughout Sanctuary's nightmare dungeons.
00:25But now, as the seals begin to weaken, demons are drawn to the blood
00:28and eager to absorb the hellish powers within.
00:31He must call upon the arcane magic of the Haradrim to locate the remaining relics,
00:35uncovering the dark secrets behind the faithful choices of Donan and his once prominent order.
00:40The Haradrim have seen better days.
00:42Sorry, Donan.
00:44But they didn't leave us empty-handed.
00:46The game is getting some permanent additions, including new nightmare dungeon affixes,
00:50Haradric's strong rooms, which are intense, timed micro-dungeons,
00:53and Escalating Nightmares,
00:55a challenge that puts you through three consecutive nightmare dungeons,
00:59each one tougher than the last.
01:01On the seasonal side, you can look forward to Haradric spells,
01:04which offer more customization than ever before,
01:06plus new Haradric jewels to collect,
01:08which are socketable power-ups that boost and fine-tune your build,
01:12along with a host of other changes, many of which we'll cover in this video.
01:15Let's start off with Haradric strong rooms.
01:18These are fast-paced, timed micro-dungeons where you'll race against the clock
01:21to slay enemies to build up your Haradric attunement as fast as possible.
01:26It's basically your score.
01:27The higher your score, the better your rewards.
01:30I'm happy to report that Haradric strong rooms are here to stay,
01:33and you can expect to see them in both seasonal and eternal realms.
01:36Strong rooms are located within nightmare dungeons and Escalating Nightmares.
01:40The higher the difficulty tier, the better your odds of are finding them.
01:43Also, you want to keep a close eye on your sigils this season.
01:46If one of them has a Haradric strong room affix, it guarantees a spawn.
01:50So, while blasting through nightmare dungeons and Escalating Nightmares,
01:54you'll want to be on the lookout for a hidden gateway.
01:56If you find one, step through it,
01:58and you'll be teleported straight into a strong room.
02:01Go ahead and clear out the monsters in the area.
02:03Don't worry, they probably deserve it anyway.
02:06And you'll be presented with a choice of Haradric pillars to select.
02:09These options influence the run a bit, so choose wisely.
02:12The number of available pillars scales with the difficulty.
02:14From there, it's go time.
02:17Slay as fast as you can to boost your score before the timer runs out.
02:20Any deaths will reduce your remaining time.
02:22For hardcore players, this will definitely reduce your time by a lot.
02:26When the timer runs out, you'll need to defeat the boss to earn the loot cash
02:29that scales with both your score and the current torment level.
02:33Inside, you'll find legendaries, obdiscite, crafting materials, Haradric Files.
02:37Haradric Files are the seasonal currency used to power up and craft your seasonal items and spells.
02:42But most importantly, upon completion, you'll get a chance for an Escalation Sigil,
02:46which Marcus will cover.
02:48But I did want to mention, if you go back and complete the original dungeon
02:51where you first found the strong room, you'll get a nice buff for doing so.
02:55Kind of neat.
02:55Escalating Nightmares is an activity that challenges you to complete a series of three consecutive dungeons.
03:01On Torment difficulties, the monsters become stronger as you depress throughout.
03:05In addition, two additional affixes are added to each consecutive dungeon.
03:09So by the third dungeon, things may be getting a little bit dicey.
03:12Escalation Sigils drop from Haradric Strongrooms on Torment difficulties and on the seasonal reputation track.
03:18We hope this new endgame activity provides an alternative way to farm valuable resources
03:23like obdiscite, boss materials, and even gives you the chance to take on a different boss.
03:27Also exclusive to Torment difficulties is that if you finish all three dungeons,
03:32you will stand face-to-face with the exalted Astaroth.
03:35This boss fight features a unique duo mechanic that will leave for you to discover.
03:39But hey, if you manage to take him down, you'll be rewarded handsomely with multiple greater affix items,
03:45abstruse sigils, crafting materials, and of course, the glory that comes with conquering a true nightmare.
03:50His blood's gonna make some sick loot this season.
03:52Yep. We're not sorry, Puppy Dad, but we are sorry, Amalgamote. We never meant to hurt you.
03:58This is also a great time to talk about the new affixes you can find in Escalating Nightmares and Nightmare Dungeons.
04:04These add extra variety and rewards to your runs.
04:07For example, Haradric Reserves, despite it sounding like some delicious handcrafted cheese,
04:13actually spawns additional loot chests packed with extra rewards.
04:16There's another affix that brings in more shrines and Treasure Breach,
04:20gives you a shot at encountering Treasure Goblins, which are always a good time.
04:24But my personal favorite has to be Forgotten Wisdom,
04:27which gives enemies a chance to drop experience orbs on kill.
04:30You can level very fast with this affix, so keep an eye out for them.
04:34Alright, let's dive into Haradric Spells,
04:36a customization system that lets you control how a seasonal power is triggered,
04:40how the spell targets enemies, what elemental damage it deals,
04:43and what additional modifiers are layered on top of that.
04:46To get started, open up your inventory and navigate to the Seasonal tab.
04:49You'll probably notice right away that it mirrors your skill bar.
04:52Begin by selecting one of the five base powers called Catalyst.
04:55Let's go with Celestial Surge.
04:57Next, choose an Infusion, which completely changes the elemental type of your spell.
05:02I'm going to go with Fire because... Fire.
05:04And finally, you'll add on some Arcana mods to tweak the spell even further.
05:09You can use up to three different Arcana for your spell,
05:11but let's throw on Potent Ally for this one,
05:13as it helps me in the pit by breaking down those annoying barriers monsters can have.
05:17And just like that, you've crafted a Haradric spell.
05:20Now that you get the basics, let's go over the different Catalyst options.
05:24Aside from Celestial Surge, you've got Disintegrate,
05:26which forms an Arcane Tether between you and your target to deal constant damage.
05:31Then there's Astral Pillar, which summons a Column of Energy
05:34that taunts enemies and dishes out some nice AoE damage.
05:37The Propulsion Catalyst blasts enemies with mana, knocks them back,
05:41and finally, Anomaly spawns up to five floating pets that deal damage.
05:46My favorite part is that you can actually command them to explode on the target for a nice big boom.
05:51Infusions, as Ruben mentioned, alter the elemental type of your Haradric spell.
05:56There are five types.
05:57Fire, Shadow, Cold, Poison, and Lightning.
06:00Each offer unique bonuses depending on the Infusion you choose.
06:04For example, the Fire Infusion disables the enemy Affix's Chilling Wind,
06:08providing a tactical edge in combat.
06:10Arcana is another customizable lair, with 20 different options to choose from.
06:15Each Arcana provides a distinct effect,
06:17such as applying vulnerable to enemies,
06:19increasing movement speed,
06:21enhancing various Haradric spells,
06:23or even teleporting your character.
06:25Pretty wicked.
06:26Catalysts, Infusions, and Arcana can all be leveled up and enhanced
06:30using the seasonal currency called Haradric Files.
06:33Once you reach Torment 1 difficulty,
06:35you'll begin to see Haradric Tomes as rewards for completing strongrooms.
06:38These consumable items allow you to craft Haradric Jewels at the Haradric Lapidary in Karagar.
06:43Just follow the seasonal questline and you'll be guided right to them.
06:46Crafting a Haradric Jewel requires the seasonal currency we mentioned earlier and gem fragments.
06:51Once crafted, these jewels can be socketed into your jewelry slots.
06:54Haradric Jewels are powerful.
06:57They come standard with base all resistance, armor stats,
07:00and each one has a unique affix to build with.
07:02The goal is to let you experiment with different jewels
07:05and find the ones that best fit your build or play style.
07:08One of my favorites is the idol from below.
07:10Equipping this jewel gives you a chance to spawn more monster density,
07:13but at the same time, you're literally being hunted.
07:17Definitely my kind of mechanic.
07:18These jewels can also provide bonuses to Arcana,
07:21movement speed, critical chance, catalyst enhancements,
07:24and even increase the size of your minions, a favorite among many.
07:28In total, there are 15 different Haradric Jewels to craft and experiment with,
07:32offering a wide range of variety.
07:34Running Haradric strongrooms and progressing through the seasonal reputation board
07:37are excellent ways to gather all the Haradric files and Arcana you'll need.
07:42But if you find yourself short on seasonal currency,
07:45be sure to check your inventory as you might have an elixir of files on hand.
07:48This handy consumable boosts your seasonal currency gains
07:51while defeating enemies in nightmare dungeons and escalating nightmares.
07:55In addition to these systems, there are several other quality life improvements,
07:58like ashes for example, which have been rebalanced in terms of
08:01when and where they are earned during the seasonal journey.
08:04Mass working costs have also been reduced across the board,
08:06and a brand new unique item is being added to the loophole per class.
08:10One particularly welcome change is you can now activate
08:13a nightmare dungeon sigil while already inside another dungeon.
08:16No need to leave first anymore.
08:17It's a small tweak, but a game changer for those smoother dungeon runs.
08:22Oh, and for console players, full mouse and keyboard support will be available
08:25when this all launches on July 1st.
08:28Well, that's the rundown.
08:29If you'd like to dive deeper, check out the official Diablo 4 blog
08:32for the full list of spells, jewels, new unique items,
08:35and a host of other updates coming to both seasonal and eternal realms.
08:39Thanks for the support and feedback across all of our channels.
08:42We appreciate you, and we'll see you in Sanctuary.
08:47Yeah.
08:48Well, there we go.
08:49You
