Mayor welcomes Derry’s first cohort of Medical School graduates after historic ceremony

00:00I would like to add to my voice to congratulate the first ever graduates from the Medical School at McGee.

00:09I want to also congratulate the people who have the foresight and the patience to proceed with the Medical School at McGee,

00:21despite the obstacles that were produced with the long way.

00:25I think this aligns with a lot of the things that the Council have, not least the city and the state deal.

00:34This is about investment for the future, and what better way to invest in the future,

00:40and investing in the health and value of other peoples.

00:46So thanks again for having me here today, and I wish the graduates every success for their careers in the future,

00:53and I hope most of all of them will have to stay here at the end of the day.
