00:00It is recommended to start the plastron after examining the patient at the site of the intervention or a few minutes before so that the textile has time to heat up.
00:17It is started by pressing and holding the central button for 3 seconds.
00:22At startup, the Therm-Up performs a safety setup and begins heating at 39 degrees by default.
00:31It is then positioned on the anterior face of the trunk without mobilizing the victim and can be positioned directly in contact with the skin.
00:40It is attached with its Velcro around the patient's neck, taking care not to tighten it too much.
00:44The first aider must check that the chest protector is correctly positioned, particularly at the sides.
00:50If a cervical collar needs to be fitted, we recommend positioning the breastplate first while a second first aider holds the head in place.
01:01The chest protector can thus be moved to examine or scope the victim while remaining attached to the patient and always well positioned.
01:13It also leaves the upper limbs accessible for venous access.
01:17The default heating setting is 39 degrees but can be adjusted to 30 or 35 by holding down plus or minus for one second.
01:27To remove the victim's chest protector, simply partially open the cervical collar while securing the cervical spine with a head restraint and then reposition it.
01:38The breastplate must then be cleaned and disinfected with a hospital disinfectant such as agnose and rubbed with a wipe on both sides, paying particular attention to the orange side in contact with the injured person.
01:53Although the breastplate is waterproof, it is important to let it dry before folding it back.
01:59Its folding is easy as shown in the presentation and fixed thanks to its Velcro.
02:13It is recharged simply by plugging the charger tip into its connector located on the control box.
02:21The user should not attempt to access the batteries under any circumstances.
02:25An LED on the charger indicates the charge level.
02:28Red, less than 50%.
02:31Orange, between 50 and 70%.
02:34Green, more than 70%.
02:38The breastplate is then stored in its bag.
