00:00A guy that got off to a really rocky start that we were saying, hey, there's some dangerous stuff
00:04in here with the expected ERA and strikeout rates down. Well, guess what? The strikeouts
00:08have rebounded for Yusei Kikuchi in a big way. Matt was trying to get me to buy into the Angels
00:13in one of the breaks. We were talking about the Angels. I can't get there, but I want to give
00:17some love to Yusei Kikuchi regardless. Over the last seven games, he's got a W. He's got a 129 ERA,
00:230.71 whip, and 21 strikeouts, so just one walk. Now, Kikuchi had a career record last year for
00:29strikeouts. Slow start this year, Kikuchi heating up at the right time for the Angels. So, Matt,
00:35I want you to share with our audience why you think the Angels actually might be more of a
00:40contender than many people realize. Oh, boy. I'm in the press room now. That was a leading question.
00:47Here was my notion to Joe is that do the Angels have enough? Do you think with Trout and Adele's
00:54hitting well, and we were talking about the different players, Joe brought it back to the
00:57pitching? Kikuchi and Soriano, but do they have enough? My point was just, can you see a world
01:04where the Angels are viable to the wagerer? And Joe was doing one of these things during the break
01:08where Joe often will rest his head, his bald head, in the palm of his hand. I don't know if he's
01:13exasperated or exacerbated. No, it's exasperated with me, but a lot of times he just sits in that
01:18Rodin thinker kind of way, and he's like, no. He didn't even lift his hand. He just spoke through his
01:23hand. He said, no. And that's all I needed to hear, but there's going to be a section of wagerers
01:27out there that are going to see the Angels and see this team and say, hey, why not? I mean,
01:33if you look at the standings right now, look at the wild card and hit me up at SportsGrid,
01:37at SportsGridTV. I'm not saying to go ahead and do it, but I'm just saying there's going to be a
01:42section of the market that will, and we want to pay attention to the numbers because as more people
01:47bet on things, that reflects a lot of numbers. So that was my point, Joe.
