00:00When I was a kid, I loved playing with Legos, RC cars, jumping on trampolines, and even tornadoes.
00:08But little did I know that filming these videos in my bedroom would lead me here.
00:16So, you want to be a YouTuber. Well, today, I'm gonna give you a tutorial.
00:20We're gonna break this video up into six sections.
00:24If you're starting a YouTube channel, would you rather start with zero subscribers?
00:28Or 100,000 subscribers? Boys, which one would you take?
00:32Kind of a stupid question. 100,000, for sure.
00:34Here's the key. Unlock the door and open it up.
00:37Right behind that glorious door is 100,000 YouTube subscribers.
00:41I got it! Hey, got it!
00:46A brick wall. Well, boys, grab some tools. We're gonna bust through it.
00:51That's kind of satisfying.
00:53Yeah!
00:57Yeah, it's good.
00:58Oh, look. There's nothing on the other side.
01:01I would probably start with 10,000 out of all of these.
01:05I thought you were gonna hit the lock.
01:07That would actually be a good idea.
01:08The lock is like your...
01:10Oh! 10,000 subscribers, look!
01:13You guys are ready to break through 100 layers of cardboard.
01:16Stabby, stabby, stabby, stabby, stabby.
01:19That didn't really do anything.
01:20We just gotta get through the right door.
01:22And this one is clearly...
01:25Not it.
01:26And you never wanna start at nothing, so go to 100.
01:30Bubble wrap! Yeah, that's a little easier.
01:32Go with a drop kick.
01:35Oh! Hello.
01:36There's nothing here.
01:37Looks like we're going to zero.
01:39Here we are, starting at zero subscribers.
01:42And behind this door, we have...
01:46Oh! It's a hole!
01:48At the end of the day, everyone starts at zero.
01:50It doesn't matter if you have zero subscribers,
01:52100,000 subscribers, or a million subscribers.
01:55YouTube is hard at all levels.
01:59You see, I used to believe that once I got 100,000 subscribers,
02:03YouTube would be easy.
02:04But that's not the case.
02:05It does only get harder, but it also does get more fun.
02:08Next, you gotta understand that making YouTube videos
02:10is all about the idea.
02:12You see, in order to make a YouTube video,
02:14it all starts with an idea.
02:16You gotta have a good idea.
02:18Gabe, why don't you press a button for an idea?
02:21Should I press the blue button or the red button?
02:24A lot of options to pick.
02:25You should hit the red button.
02:27Here goes nothing!
02:29Ah!
02:31Oh!
02:33Oh my gosh.
02:34What?
02:35Why is it going so ill?
02:37Oh, that was a little rough.
02:40You see, when thinking of YouTube ideas,
02:42you don't want to press the red, shiny button.
02:44You want to instead think of videos that people are going to search for,
02:47because that's how you start your channel.
02:48That's exactly how I started my YouTube channel.
02:51Let's continue.
02:52Uh, this one.
02:57Oh, that's nice.
03:01That's not bad.
03:02Ping pong balls?
03:03Aw.
03:04Aw.
03:05Man, I'm pushing two buttons at once.
03:07Two buttons?
03:08Yeah, I want to get it over with quick.
03:09That's crazy.
03:10All right, I'm going to put a blue and an orange.
03:11Here goes nothing.
03:13So we got Gabe pressing two ideas at once.
03:16You see, that's actually a genius way to think of video ideas.
03:19Check this out.
03:20This is one video I made, the world's biggest Lego house, plus this other video, which is the world's safest Minecraft house.
03:31Anyways, what I was saying, that is going to equal this third video, which is trying to break into the world's safest Lego house.
03:41One plus one equals two.
03:43That is a genius way to think of video ideas.
03:46But you see, my friend, there's so many other blueprints to think of viral video ideas.
03:51Uh, how do I do this?
03:53Uh...
03:54Flake?
03:59Oh, oh, oh wait!
04:02What is that?
04:03Oh, it's glue.
04:04That's nice.
04:05That's lovely.
04:06What is that?
04:07Is that soda?
04:09That's rough.
04:10All right, Gabe.
04:11I'm going to hit periwinkle.
04:12Periwinkle?
04:13Heck yeah, dude!
04:15Whoa, whoa.
04:25Ah!
04:26Gabe, it's terrible!
04:28That was a really long scream.
04:29You know what, Jordy?
04:30Maybe I should step in there.
04:31You're fired.
04:32Get out.
04:36Oh!
04:37Ah!
04:39All I see is red!
04:44What is that, bro?
04:45How is that hitting me?
04:47I got a whole bowl of goodies for you, James.
04:50All right, I'll press your favorite color.
04:54Oh, Gabe, it's worse!
04:59All right, boys.
05:00Enough fun.
05:01We got to teach the audience how to be YouTubers.
05:03Let's go.
05:04When operating your YouTube channel, there's basically two ways to operate.
05:07You can either document your videos.
05:09This is like tutorials, how-to videos.
05:12This is how I started my YouTube channel, by documenting the game of Minecraft.
05:15This is actually how Mr. B started his channel and a bunch of other creators.
05:19And then on the flip side, you have creating, which basically means you're creating something
05:23from scratch.
05:24But let's look at the documenting door.
05:27What's being documented in here?
05:29Ah!
05:30I've been attacked by a bear!
05:32This is 24 hours!
05:34So Gabe is documenting his experience dying by a bear.
05:38That's pretty exciting.
05:40And behind this door is creating, which means you're making something from scratch.
05:44Let's see what James is doing.
05:46Yo, we're about to make elephant toothpaste!
05:52I think I made a Dairy Queen blizzard.
05:55This is take two!
05:56I'm making elephant toothpaste!
06:01Yeah!
06:03Look at that volcano!
06:05Yeah!
06:06But anyways, at Blueprint University, we teach you a ton of ways to think of video ideas.
06:11Over 12 different ways to think of video ideas.
06:14And those methods of brainstorming viral video ideas are the same methods that I use to think
06:18of all my video ideas.
06:19But what's the style of your video going to be?
06:22Let's check it out.
06:23And one of the most important things about being a YouTuber is being yourself.
06:26I mean, think about it.
06:27It's called YouTube.
06:28It's about you.
06:29So you gotta be yourself.
06:30And that's why people wanna watch your videos.
06:32In order for that to happen, Gabe, you just gotta be yourself, dude.
06:35Oh, just...
06:36Why am I in a cage?
06:37In whatever situation I put him in.
06:40Like a cage with a bear!
06:42Oh my gosh!
06:43Oh, he's got me!
06:44He's got me!
06:45He's got me!
06:46He's taking me down!
06:47Just be yourself, Gabe!
06:48I had a honey and oats this morning!
06:50At the end of the day, no one can compete with you on being yourself.
06:55You are your biggest advantage.
06:56So be yourself.
06:57Next, we gotta figure out the goal of the video.
06:58What's your video going to be about?
06:59This is my dog, and I'm about to put him through an obstacle course.
07:00With a prize at the end.
07:01You ready?
07:02Alright, here we.
07:03Hold on.
07:04Stay.
07:05Stay.
07:06Listen to me.
07:07Alright.
07:08Wait.
07:09Hey!
07:10Hey!
07:11Hey!
07:12We've trained years for this.
07:13You're gonna have to do this obstacle course.
07:14And there's a prize here.
07:15Hey!
07:16Hey!
07:17Hey!
07:18Hey!
07:19Hey!
07:20Hey!
07:21Hey!
07:22Hey!
07:23Hey!
07:24Hey!
07:25Hey!
07:26Hey!
07:27Hey!
07:28Hey!
07:29Hey!
07:30Hey!
07:31Hey!
07:32Hey!
07:33Hey!
07:34Hey!
07:35Hey!
07:36Hey!
07:37Hey!
07:38Hey!
07:39Hey!
07:40Hey!
07:41Hey!
07:42Hey!
07:43Hey!
07:44Hey!
07:45Hey!
07:46Hey!
07:47Hey!
07:48Hey!
07:49Hey!
07:50Hey!
07:51Hey!
07:52Hey!
07:53Hey!
07:54Get up!
07:54So this is the prize for the dog.
07:56We got a beautiful golden bone.
07:59We also got a ton of money to buy treats.
08:01Don't grab daddy's hat.
08:03No.
08:04No.
08:05You know, sometimes it just doesn't go the way you want it to.
08:14Yeah, you went through the hoop!
08:17That's a good boy.
08:18He is such a good boy.
08:22You're doing great.
08:23Look at this tail's wagging.
08:27It doesn't really sound like a dog.
08:28It sounds more like a vampire demon.
08:31Your dog needs some help, dude.
08:34Oh, he's going to kill me.
08:35He got toys for you, boy.
08:36Look, I got a big golden bone.
08:39Oh, snap.
08:39He's coming.
08:40Oh, you missed that obstacle.
08:42Oh, God.
08:44Yeah!
08:47See, he's such a good boy.
08:48Yeah, it's all for you.
08:49That's what happens when you plan a good video.
08:55There's a bunch of different blueprints that you can adopt inside Blueprint University.
09:02Next, let's talk about a good way to make sure your audience loves your video.
09:06A big thing about making YouTube videos is you've got to have emotion into your video.
09:10And a lot of our videos focus on laughter.
09:14What's a chicken's favorite horror movie?
09:20The Exorcist.
09:23I think you need to just come down and let Gabe go.
09:26Why did the chicken cross the road?
09:29Because he got hit.
09:30Because the skibbity toilets were behind her and the Sigma rooster was in front, shirtless, doing a backflip, whispering, riz or die.
09:44All right, that's all for tonight.
09:48Thank you so much.
09:49We gather here today to celebrate the life of one of our camera men, Noah.
10:01Rest in peace.
10:03Thanks for being cool.
10:04He was always a background character in my life.
10:07He was always the room to my zoomies.
10:10He was the lav tape to my mic.
10:12He was the guy that was always flexing on Instagram.
10:16And we just miss that about him.
10:19I didn't really like Noah.
10:21He was always getting in my way.
10:23Now that he's going, can I get a raise?
10:26Yeah, we'll bump you up 25%.
10:27Thanks, Noah.
10:28To Noah.
10:29And he didn't want to be anywhere without his dogs because he has that dog in him.
10:36Noah was the kind of person who would drop everything to help you fix your car.
10:43Hey, yo, homie, breathe in.
10:47Oh.
10:48So, does this thing work?
10:52You're going to have to bear with me.
10:54I don't want you to boot me off stage.
11:02Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
11:04This morning, I had some cereal, and I didn't brush my teeth, so I'm going to do that now.
11:10Why do we put mayonnaise on bread and call it a sandwich?
11:25Why?
11:27Because ham rhymes with hamster.
11:31Why are you laughing so hard at that?
11:35So the moral of the story is...
11:38How do you turn this thing off?
11:41Just be yourself.
11:42So, yeah, each one of your videos need to have some sort of emotion.
11:46Without emotion, your video is going to be dry.
11:50I don't know why we had to kill him, though.
11:53He's still alive.
11:54Next up, let's make a thumbnail for our video, because someone's got to click it.
12:00In order to get someone to click on your video, you need to have a good thumbnail image.
12:06A thumbnail image is just a picture of your video idea.
12:10We have these big, beautiful frames, and you guys are going to make a thumbnail.
12:15It's James versus Gabe.
12:17I'm starting a timer.
12:18You guys have five minutes.
12:22Good luck.
12:22Hey, can you help me?
12:24I've got to be James' assistant, because he's got one arm.
12:27Right about there.
12:28Yo!
12:29What is this?
12:31I'm chiseled!
12:32What do you think is more clickable?
12:35Okay.
12:41There's been a lot of things, a lot of blueprints that I've learned about thumbnails.
12:43And inside Blueprint University, we teach you like 10 to 15 plus ways that you can design really good YouTube thumbnails.
12:51And the best part about it is we break it up into three difficulty levels of beginner, intermediate, and pro.
12:57So even if you're a beginner, it's perfect.
12:59But if you're a professional and you already got 100,000 subscribers, we got some really good tips for you.
13:03All right, boys.
13:04One minute left.
13:06Dang, Gabe.
13:07Yo, he's cooking.
13:09That's going to get like 10 million likes.
13:12I think I'm done, dude.
13:14All right, time's up.
13:15Let's take a look at Gabe's thumbnail.
13:18Oh, I'm going to explain it?
13:19Yeah, go up.
13:19Yeah.
13:20Okay, so here's me with the key to the safe.
13:23I've been spotted.
13:25He saw me.
13:25He's telling me to stop.
13:27But James over here, he's trying to save me.
13:29You got the tank.
13:30That was you.
13:31You made that explosion.
13:32And then how did this get here?
13:33How did I get there with the key?
13:35I went down and fly.
13:37That's movie magic.
13:38Absolute cinema.
13:39I think this is really good.
13:41But the problem is there's millions of videos on YouTube and viewers scroll very quickly.
13:46And that's why your thumbnail needs to have two or three elements.
13:50And each element you should understand within one second.
13:53Otherwise, your audience is going to get confused and they'll skip past your video.
13:57Let's turn around and look at James's thumbnail.
14:00What is this?
14:02I got two to three subjects.
14:03I got the main guy.
14:05You know, the face, the subject of all videos.
14:08And I got the world's biggest creeper.
14:11And the exclamation point with the T and T.
14:14What's the video title?
14:15I survived the world's biggest creeper.
14:19It's a work in progress.
14:20To be honest, I think it's pretty good.
14:22I would click on this video because it's easier to understand.
14:25I feel like I understand what the idea is.
14:28I feel like when I click on the video, I'm going to get what I clicked for.
14:32Whereas this, it looks more like a school project, maybe?
14:36Let me know in the comment section below.
14:38What video would you click on?
14:40Would you click on James's video or Gabe's video?
14:44And now let's edit it and put it all together.
14:47And with being a YouTuber, of course, you have to edit your videos.
14:50Which is why we are now at the post-production department.
14:53To talk to one of the unspeakable editors.
14:56I want you to go in there and ask the editors how to edit a YouTube video.
15:01Hey, guys.
15:03What's going on?
15:04You want to get that?
15:05I just want to ask.
15:06What are you doing here, man?
15:06No, no, no, no, no.
15:07You don't ask.
15:08Okay, you don't ask.
15:10Why do you lock the door?
15:11Oh, my.
15:13What is happening?
15:16I just wanted to know my secret.
15:18It looks like our editors today will not be sharing their secrets.
15:21But the good news is I will be sharing all of my secrets, all of my strategies on Blueprint University.
15:28And for the first 24 hours, we're running a special Blueprint Mini is 20% off.

15:51Are you okay?
15:53I'm never going in there again.
15:55Let's go back to editing.
15:56Okay.
15:57They're back to editing.
15:58And if you sign up within the first 24 hours, we're going to do a huge giveaway.
16:02And we're going to pick three people to fly out and come see us.

16:17At the end of the day, growing a YouTube channel is hard.
16:19But trust me, it's much harder without a Blueprint.
16:22So why not learn from a creator like me that's been on the platform for 12 years and grown multiple channels to over 10 million subscribers?
16:29These guys will not share their secrets like most YouTubers.
