00:00Welcome to WatchMojo. And today, we're counting down our picks for the infamous times when famous
00:11faces in the music industry showcased entitled behavior that negatively affected their personal
00:17lives or careers. I admit I made a mistake, Pierce. If I had the chance to go back and do it again,
00:23I don't think I would have taken the audience up on their choice.
00:26Number 10. Jennifer Lopez
00:30In 1998, Lopez's public image forever changed after an interview with Movieline,
00:36where she criticized several actors and filmmakers.
00:40Now people loving me and hating me, treating me ungratefully,
00:44but not knowing that they ain't making or breaking me.
00:46Lopez claimed she was misquoted and her comments were out of context,
00:50but the damage to her image was done. Since then, the singer has gone through periods of
00:56public dislike, but none more than in the modern era.
00:59And I know that there's some people around me here like,
01:01this is stupid, why is she doing this? She doesn't need to do this. And they're right,
01:04I don't need to do any of it.
01:08On top of being accused of being rude to a journalist in 2024,
01:12Lopez was recorded spitting gum into an assistant's hand before filming. This was on top of her
01:17allegedly having a history of diva behavior at private airports, as staff detailed their experiences
01:24online. In 2025, Lopez continued her entitled ways by using images from a photographer without
01:32permission, resulting in a lawsuit.
01:34That's why I want everybody to say, this is me now. This is me. Love me, leave me, whatever, but I'm good with this person.
01:45Number nine, Katy Perry. Recently, Perry generated a lot of heat for being on the Blue Origin rocket
01:51and implying she and the crew were astronauts.
01:54And these are all of my astronaut girly friends. We are the Taken Up Space crew.
02:05Even other celebs mocked the space nun. Yet Perry's out-of-touch entitlement started before this.
02:12In 2015, she began an ill-judged legal battle with a convent of nuns for the property they lived at
02:18in Los Angeles, California. That's sister Catherine Rose explaining why she wanted to block the sale
02:23of her former convent to pop star Katy Perry. Rose collapsed and died in court today during a hearing
02:30involving the ongoing battle to prevent Perry from taking over the property.
02:35While no one came out looking good, Perry looked worse, especially considering she was accused of
02:41causing too much stress to one of the nuns who died.
02:44In 2018, while a judge on American Idol, contestant Benjamin Glaze mentioned he hadn't kissed a woman,
02:51so Perry went for a kiss on the cheek, only to smooch him on the lips. Glaze later called the experience
02:57uncomfortable.
02:59It was a really good experience, but it was pretty surreal.
03:01Number eight, Lizzo.
03:03With ear-warming tunes like About Damn Time, Lizzo was on her way to music stardom.
03:07Okay, okay, all right, it's about damn time.
03:12But then, 2023 happened, which forever changed her public image from an empowering woman to an alleged monster.
03:20That year, three former dancers accused Lizzo of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment
03:26with various racist and inappropriate comments.
03:29I know it's alarming to hear that Lizzo, a plus-size woman who preaches body positivity, would be fatphobic, essentially.
03:40But I want to challenge people to understand that, you know, hurt people hurt people.
03:47Soon after, stylist Asha Daniels issued her own lawsuit against the musician for several issues,
03:53including disability discrimination.
03:55Lizzo has denied the allegations.
03:57In 2024, Daniels' case was mostly dismissed by a judge, except against Lizzo's company,
04:05Big Girl, Big Touring.
04:06Some of the claims by the dancers were also dismissed, but the suit is still going ahead.
04:12I was completely surprised.
04:14Really?
04:14Um, I was very deeply hurt.
04:17Number seven, Michelle Schacht.
04:19In her early career in the late 80s, Schacht would insinuate she was a lesbian, later stating
04:25she was bisexual.
04:27They had to pull the plug on Michelle Schacht's show, and it's the first time they've ever
04:30pulled the plug on a show here in San Francisco.
04:33With that in mind, when fans went to see her at Yoshi's Nightclub in San Francisco, California
04:38in 2013, they were hoping to enjoy a non-bigoted performance in a city famous for its LGBTQIA-plus
04:46inclusivity.
04:47Boy, were they wrong.
04:49Lisa Bautista says the stunned audience reacted quickly.
04:52Instead, Schacht betrayed her fanbase by ranting against same-sex marriages, and said it would
05:01cause the end of civilization.
05:03The born-again Christian then uttered a slur.
05:06The audience soon began to leave as the club management shut down Schacht's performance.
05:11With the massive backlash, the singer tried backtracking and claimed her words were misinterpreted.
05:17However, it didn't work, and she's barely been heard of since.
05:21So you're not homophobic?
05:23If you want to keep this simple for the audience, let me just give you a straight, no, I'm not
05:27homophobic.
05:28But I don't think that the truth, I don't think lies in the simplicity.
05:31I think it's in the nuance, and that's been completely lost.
05:34Number six, Tim Lambesis.
05:37As the face of the Christian metal band As I Lay Dime, Lambesis was a respected figure
05:42in the industry.
05:50However, his entitlement and arrogance came out when he was arrested for trying to hire
05:55an assassin to kill his wife in 2014.
05:58After pleading guilty, he was sentenced to six years.
06:01Tim Lambesis is behind bars, accused of doing something very much against his religion, hiring
06:08a hitman to kill his estranged wife.
06:10During this time, Lambesis also stated he and the rest of the band had been atheists
06:15for a while, disillusioning their remaining fans.
06:19The singer was released from jail in 2016.
06:22In 2024, Lambesis got divorced from his third wife.
06:26Soon after, videos leaked online of the singer attacking her.
06:29Upon seeing the video, every musician left As I Lay Dime, leaving Lambesis alone in his
06:36empire of dirt.
06:37You know, we're just going to be raw because healing takes a lot of years.
06:43Number five, Chris Brown.
06:45At one point, it seemed like Brown would be a legend in the R&B game.
06:49But when 2009 came around, the first thought about him was no longer his music, but his crimes.
07:00That year, he and his partner Rihanna were in a car when an argument erupted.
07:04Brown viciously attacked her while driving.
07:07I didn't cause this.
07:09I didn't do it.
07:11This happened to me, and it can happen to anybody.
07:14There are a lot of women who've experienced what I did.
07:18He was sentenced to five years of probation.
07:20In 2025, during his tour, Brown was surprisingly let back into the UK despite having a violent
07:26criminal conviction and having been accused of attacking music producer Abraham Dioff.
07:32Brown, likely feeling untouchable, arrived, where he was promptly arrested in Manchester,
07:37England.
07:37The singer was able to post five million pounds in bail, around $6.7 million to continue his
07:44tour.
07:44The judge is allowing Brown to go on his world tour, scheduled to start next month, but
07:48he had to pay that massive bail to guarantee his court appearance.
07:51Number 4.
07:53CeeLo Green
07:54From Narls Barkley to his own solo work, the musician produced one eritifying single after
08:00another.
08:06However, the cracks began to show in 2011, when he used a homophobic insult to a journalist
08:12who criticized his live performance.
08:15The following year, Green was accused of intoxicating a woman and assaulting her.
08:19The accusation, it was so untimely and unfortunate, because we were in talks with sponsorship and
08:26people wanted to get behind me about this Vegas venture, and a couple of people walked
08:31off from me.
08:32He pleaded no contest to giving her an illegal substance, earning him three years of probation.
08:37Shortly after, Green went on Twitter, now X, to rant that an assault victim isn't a victim
08:42if they're unconscious.
08:44The backlash caused the musician to delete his account, and multiple concerts dropped him.
08:48Green was also replaced in 2015's Hotel Transylvania II.
08:53Since then, Green's albums haven't even charted on Billboard 200.
08:57It's really unfortunate.
08:59Number 3.
09:00Chuck Berry
09:01As the person behind 1958's Johnny B. Goode, Berry was a pioneer in rock and roll music.
09:07Chuck Berry was a pioneer in his field, often referred to as the father of rock and roll,
09:12who influenced a generation of musicians.
09:14Yet, despite being a legend, his personal life was an entitled mess.
09:19In 1960, Berry was sentenced to three years in jail for trying to transport a minor across
09:24state lines for immoral purposes.
09:27Other legal issues continued to follow him, including being fined for attacking a woman
09:32in 1987.
09:33In 1990, Berry was sued by several women after they discovered cameras in the women's bathroom
09:39at his restaurant.
09:40When the rock star's home was raided, police found illegal substances and intimate images
09:45of women and underage girls.
09:47Berry somehow got off lightly again with a six-month suspended sentence and ordered to donate $5,000
09:55to a hospital.
09:56That margin of glory is not too high.
09:59That margin of defeat, then, is also not too low.
10:02Number 2.
10:03Ike Turner
10:04Having been responsible for giving Anna Mae Bullock the name Tina Turner, Ike seemingly
10:10believed she was his property.
10:12New York is very good.
10:14I like to work there.
10:15That's one of my favorite cities.
10:16They originally performed together, earning a lot of success as they married.
10:20However, as Tina's name began to rise, behind the scenes, Ike had been violent towards her.
10:27This led to him attacking her in a limo in 1976.
10:29Soon after, Tina divorced Ike.
10:33I was prepared to go through whatever I had to go through with Ike Turner, even if it was
10:37death, because I would never go back.
10:39However, due to the amount of debts and lawsuits transferred to her, she had to perform at
10:43small clubs to pay them off.
10:45Thankfully, she managed to pull herself out of that horrible situation and became an even
10:50bigger star on her own.
10:51Ike, on the other hand, never enjoyed the career heights he once enjoyed.
10:56From 93 to 2001, man, I caught hell trying to make a living.
11:06You know, it was like, couldn't get work.
11:09There's just all kinds of stuff, man.
11:111. Kanye West
11:29No musician's success has gone to their head as much as it did with West.
11:34My reign is as far as your eyes can see.
11:40It's amazing.
11:42Famously known for comparing himself to religious figures and thinking he was entitled to overshadow
11:47Taylor Swift's 2009 VMA win, in recent years, the once well-respected rapper has descended
11:53into anti-Semitism.
11:55After praising the terrible legacy of dictator Adolf Hitler during an interview on Infowars
11:59and saying a lot of horrible stuff on X in 2022, West's business career started to crumble
12:06as brands dropped his fashion brand Yeezy.
12:08It was like some Black Mirror episode.
12:12They wanted to do everything to prove to me that I didn't have a right to say anything out
12:18loud that went against people who own the media, people who own the music industry.
12:25In 2025, he turned it up by releasing offensive songs and merchandise with reprehensible imagery.
12:31West then announced he's no longer anti-Semitic.
12:34However, he's made this statement several times before regressing again.
12:39Only time will tell if it sticks.
12:42Somehow I'm here inside of this universe, able to fight.
12:46Have you ever been a fan of a musician, only for their entitlement to turn you against them?
12:51Let us know in the comments.
12:53So I feel really connected to that strong, divine feminine right now.
12:58As I feel really connected to those tropics.
13:06Now, we're happening in the comments.
13:07So happy mechanician!
13:10Now, my
