In blatant defiance of a ceasefire agreement, Israeli drone strikes on Saturday killed at least two people and wounded several others in southern Lebanon. A drone strike in Mahrouna targeted a motorcycle, killing one and injuring two bystanders in a passing car. Hours earlier, another Israeli UAV strike hit a vehicle in Kounine, killing a Hezbollah resistance fighter, identified as Hassan Mohammad Jumaa.

These attacks mark yet another violation of the extended truce that began on November 27 and was supposed to hold past February 18. Despite its expiration, Lebanon had hoped for stability, but Israel’s continued occupation of strategic southern areas and recurring strikes have reignited regional tensions. Beirut has condemned the aggression and vowed to take “all necessary measures” to end Israel’s unlawful military presence. The international community remains silent as Tel Aviv pushes the boundaries of legality and human rights with impunity.
