00:26out of a dr seuss book tamakala imagine giant white cascading terraces filled with these crystal
00:32clear turquoise pools these terraces are made of travertine formed over thousands of years by
00:38mineral rich hot springs we spent the whole day exploring the terraces dipping our toes in the
00:44warm water and just trying to wrap our heads around the fact that this place actually exists it's
00:50seriously like stepping onto another planet and it's an absolute must see if you're ever in turkey
00:56next up we're heading over to cappadocia which has to be one of the most surreal landscapes i've
01:04ever seen in my life the region is famous for its unique rock formations and fairy chimneys that look
01:10like they belong on another planet picture this you wake up at the crack of dawn stumble out of your
01:16cave hotel which is literally carved into the rock and step outside to see hundreds of hot air balloons
01:22rising up into the sky the site is nothing short of magical it's this crazy otherworldly landscape
01:29filled with towering rock formations called fairy chimneys these natural wonders have been shaped by
01:34thousands of years of erosion people used to live in these things creating entire communities within
01:40the rock they carved out homes and churches in entire underground cities these ancient dwellings are a
01:46testament to human ingenuity and adaptability we spent a few days exploring the caves hiking through the
01:51valleys and discovering hidden gems around every corner and just generally feeling like we were on
01:57the set of some epic fantasy movie the landscape is so dramatic and awe-inspiring the views from up
02:03there were absolutely mind-blowing floating above this surreal landscape in a hot air balloon is an

02:09all right from the sky to something a little more grounded we're heading to kanya to witness the
02:18whirling dervishes it's a deeply spiritual experience that's been practiced by the sufi muslims for
02:23centuries these guys dressed in flowing white robes spin and spin their arms outstretched like
02:29they're trying to embrace the heavens it's mesmerizing to watch like a human top that never
02:35stops spinning it's a form of meditation a way to connect with the divine it's a powerful reminder
02:41that sometimes the most amazing journeys are the ones that take you inward
02:44chapter four gobekli tepe rewriting history one stone at a time we're going way way back to a time
02:54before the pyramids before stonehenge even before pottery to a place called gobekli tepe this place
03:01is basically an archaeological time machine dating back to the 10th millennium bce that's over 12 000 years
03:07old these guys built massive t-shaped pillars some weighing up to 20 tons decorated with intricate
03:13carvings of animals and abstract symbols gobekli tepe is a powerful reminder that we're still
