nudist interview
Transcript
00:00Hi, my name is Kota, and I'm here with Camille from Philly.
00:05Hello! Philly is out here in New York City today.
00:10So, how did you hear about Body Painting Day?
00:13It's funny because I'm originally from New York, so I have been stalking this for years,
00:17but it always was that I would find out about it a week after.
00:21And so I have some nudie friends in Philly who are on it.
00:25They know everything, and they said a few months ago, they reminded me,
00:28and it's really a simple process.
00:30You go on the website, you sign up, and here I am.
00:33So, yes, I drove up this morning.
00:35Great, we did too, yeah.
00:37So, what about this event brings you joy?
00:41Everything. Everything.
00:44The body positivity, the fact that there's so many bodies represented, you know what I mean?
00:49And everyone has a place to just be beautiful.
00:51The art itself, and then the nudity.
00:54Like, I'm a nudist, I'm a big proponent of people just being in their skins and loving themselves,
00:59and I think this goes a long way.
01:01And then the fact that it's public makes people out there who may not normally feel comfortable.
01:07They're kind of like, well, you know, maybe I can, you know?
01:09So, I just, everything about it.
01:11And I hope they do it again.
01:12I know this is the last year, which is sad, but something, the birds are saying that maybe not.
01:18Well, so can you elaborate?
01:19Like, how do you feel about this being the final one?
01:25You know what?
01:26I feel like, I feel like it can't be.
01:29I feel like it can't be.
01:29I feel like where we're going is we are progressing to a place where we're just coming out of our shells
01:34and all these restrictions in so many different ways.
01:36And this is like a natural progression of that.
01:39So, even if Andy doesn't do it, someone else may.
01:41I hope he does it because it seems to do it beautifully.
01:44I don't think this is it.
01:45But just between you and me, I'm like, I think we're going to be out in these streets all naked again soon.
01:50You're not the only one in denial here.
01:53I feel like there are a lot of people who are like, nah, this can't be it.
01:57So, I'm also curious, what do you like about being a human canvas?
02:02Okay, fine, my ego.
02:04You know what I mean?
02:05It's like, who doesn't want to be a part of art?
02:07You know, if you see the Mona Lisa and we're like, oh, I see you, you know?
02:10I love being a part of the process, and I feel like it just accentuates what we come with naturally,
02:16like our natural beauty.
02:17And what's happening here is just amazing.
02:19So, I guess it appeals to the ego.
02:21I'm not going to lie.
02:22That's real.
02:23Yeah, no, I appreciate your honesty.
02:25So, I'm curious if you have any final thoughts before we sign off.
02:30My one thought would be just for everyone to embrace who you are naturally.
02:35Even if it's like two minutes in the mirror naked, just look at it and just give it love.
02:40If that's really, and that's to me what art, all these artists are sharing love,
02:44and that's what it's all about.
02:45So, that's it.
02:46Beautiful.
02:47What a positive message.
02:48Thank you so much.
02:50My pleasure.
02:51And we're out.
