Imphal/ Churachandpur (Manipur), 28 June, ANI: In Manipur’s Churachandpur—home to the Kuki-Zo tribe—over 10,000 Indian Army pensioners reside, many decorated with gallantry awards for their service across the country. Among them stands Subedar Major (Retd.) Kimkhankap, a Sena Medal awardee, who displayed exceptional bravery while fighting Pakistan-backed terrorists in the Kashmir Valley—his courage a shining example of the district’s unwavering patriotism. Many of these proud veterans, including Subedar Major (Retd.) G Nangsonthang, have valiantly served the nation—facing enemy fire in the 1999 Kargil War and standing tall in India’s hour of need.
