00:00the islanders hold all the keys to tonight's draft now with them having the first pick and

00:05them having honestly george the most uh speculation even about big trades like not

00:11only the islands have the first pick but they have the player that is being talked about the

00:15most in noah dobson that's the biggest name i've heard that could get traded tonight during the

00:20first round of the draft so the islanders george despite me and you being full-blown homers for

00:25them we don't have a problem admitting that they do have the most juice in this draft tonight on

00:29several fronts yeah they're really controlling everything usually they got the number one pick

00:34although that's pretty much a foregone conclusion that it will be shafer and that pick is not going

00:38to be traded or if anybody's not paying attention the if they now they're going to trade dobson and

00:43they are going to trade dobson that's going to happen now before seven o'clock eastern tonight

00:47they're definitely taking shafer although i know i know you said this too and i'm kind of right there

00:52with you man passing up misa is going to be real tough real tough but they don't have a choice now

00:57if you're going to trade dobson you got to take the defenseman here but it is what it is there here

01:42the answer they're trying to aim for but as you guys said as tom said next year's draft much stronger

01:47at the islanders i gotta assume they're gonna get at least one first round pick next year plus

01:51they got colorado's plus they have their own so they would theoretically have at least three first

01:55round picks next season look george i i don't i don't have i want them to get look hagan's it's

02:08ranked guy on the board and because he maybe didn't have the season at boston college that everybody

02:14wanted him to have he has allowed a couple guys to go past him on the big board for tonight

02:19i i just want to make sure you get the best return for dobson who by the way george somebody

02:25wants to pay him 10 plus million dollars a year have a blast all right i think no dobson's a very

02:30good player i don't think he's a great player i think he's a very good player and if that's the

02:35kind of money that he wants well then god bless and good luck in montreal or columbus but i want the

02:41right return for a player of that i don't want to maybe take certain things just so that i make sure i get

02:47in the top five and here's the other thing george about the trade like that you've got to make sure

02:51if you're doing this all to get hagan's that you get him that's why this might be difficult to do

02:56until they're on the board you know there's teams are on the board tonight and they can move around

03:01you can't make that trade at three o'clock in the afternoon and not know that he's going to be there

03:06at four or five or six or whatever it's going to be agreed if that's what they're doing is for to get

03:12hagan's here and something else would have to happen right because to get let's just say for

03:16giggles hagan's is available at four i mean i don't know if two number one is going to get get you there

03:21i just don't know if that's going to do it so what else are you including there so it's uh i said i'm

03:26not so sure this is all being done for hagan's here uh i said i would like him as well here but uh

03:31you said he didn't have the greatest year here only schaefer only played a handful of games as well

03:35here which is why i'm probably a little nervous about him all right because he only played what 17 games

03:39uh last year that's right it scares me a little bit that we're taking him uh or they're taking him

03:43i don't play for the alleners uh so you know it's uh i used to call me about out about that all the

03:54so i try to not do that anymore but uh it's as it it's going to be a uh an interesting time tonight

03:59to see what the others are trying to pull off here and i would i know you you mentioned it quickly

04:04i'm sorry i i find it difficult to pass on a guy who has the kind of offensive ability and skill

04:13that misa has like guys that could potentially score 50 plus goals a season in the nhl they don't

04:21grow on trees and people who root for the islanders have been begging for them to get a player like that

04:28for 30 plus years george they have been waiting for the island and yes they got tavares they got

04:33those are not that's not what this player this guy is a goal scorer he puts the puck in the net

04:39at a very high rate and i and it is tough to pass him by uh schaefer's a great kid he's got all the

04:47tools i'm sure he's gonna and i hope he you know what george i hope he's killing the car i hope that

04:51that's what the others are taking uh with this kid at first overall he's not gonna be ready to play

04:56next year it's gonna be very interesting here
