01:49Excuse me, Mr. Manreen.
01:50Yeah?
01:52Remember when we came into the high street and you said right wheel?
01:56Oh, God.
01:59He didn't.
02:02He walked straight on with a silly grin on his face.
02:07Did you notice this?
02:08Yes, I did, sir.
02:09Why did you tell me?
02:10Well, I didn't want to upset you.
02:11Upset me?
02:14Oh, man.
02:16Right wheel, right, right, right.
02:17Halt.
02:20Leg.
02:21Eye.
02:22Order.
02:23Halt.
02:26Stand at eight.
02:29Evening.
02:32Where have you been, Corporal?
02:34I saw a little throstle bird, sir.
02:36And I said to myself, what a pretty throstle.
02:39Isn't life wonderful?
02:41And when I looked round, you'd gone and left me, Captain.
02:44Man's usually full of war-like things, not birds.
02:47Fall out.
02:49Have you seen him in the office?
02:50Would you, uh...
02:50Yes, of course, sir.
02:51Yes, yes.
02:55I'm getting worried about Jones.
02:58Woolly-headed.
02:59Yes, I have noticed, sir.
03:00Hmm.
03:01If it doesn't improve, I shall have to replace him.
03:05I can't be expected to face a Nazi invasion with a woolly-headed corporal.
03:10Come in.
03:12Ah.
03:13It's you, Jones.
03:14I was just going to send for you.
03:15Yes, sir.
03:16Permission to have a heart-to-heart man-to-man talk, sir?
03:20Yes, of course.
03:21Come in and sit down.
03:22All right, Joseph.
03:23You sit down here.
03:23There you are.
03:24You'll see.
03:24Can I start?
03:30Yes, of course.
03:31Have you noticed the spring in my step, Captain Manrin?
03:34About hardly describe it as that.
03:37What about you, Mr. Wilson?
03:38Do you see a glint or a gleam in my eye?
03:40Well, now you can't imagine it, journey.
03:42You do look a little bit different.
03:43I have fallen in love, Captain Manrin.
03:48Whoa.
03:49With a woman.
03:53Right.
03:54Sir, I have the honour to ask your permission to get married.
03:58Well, it's really nothing to do with me, Jones.
04:01Well, don't say that, Captain Manrin.
04:02You're my commanding officer and my very help in trouble.
04:05But you're not in any trouble, are you, Jonesy?
04:08Oh, no.
04:10You see, Jones, you're technically a civilian
04:12and free to marry when and whom you like.
04:15But do you give me your permission, Captain Manrin?
04:18Oh, very well, if you want it.
04:19Yes, yes, all right.
04:20Oh, bless you, sir.
04:22I knew you wouldn't let me down.
04:24He's a lovely man.
04:26Who is the lady in question?
04:30Mrs. Fox.
04:32Quite sure that you're in love with her?
04:33I'm besotted with her.
04:36That's not quite the same thing.
04:38I see her face everywhere I go.
04:40I see it in the trees and the hills.
04:44I even saw it yesterday on the gasworks.
04:47And every morning I see it on the pillow beside me.
04:51Not really on the pillow.
04:52You didn't think that, did you?
04:54And everywhere I glance,
04:56there she is, like a will of the wasp.
05:00I'm quite sure this isn't just a passing fancy.
05:03Oh, no, it's definitely not a passing fancy.
05:06I've fancied her for 17 years.
05:08Jessie, are you absolutely sure that you want to marry her?
05:12No, sir, no.
05:13I'm tortured by self-doubt.
05:15I'm only a humble butcher, you know.
05:18Is it true affection she feels for me?
05:20Does she love me for myself?
05:23Or does she love me for my meat?
05:24Ha, ha!
05:28Wow, let's go.
05:32The meat.
05:32Are you planning to get married?
05:34Oh, I don't know.
05:34She'll have me.
05:35Well, you mean you haven't asked her yet?
05:36Oh, yes, I've asked her.
05:38I've even offered her an ultimatum.
05:42She's supposed to telephone me up at 8 o'clock with the answer.
05:46Can I sit by the phone, sir?
05:48Let me sit next to the phone, sir.
05:50No, I'm sorry.
05:50You can't, sir.
05:51I can't have you sitting next to the phone.
05:52Look, here, Jonesy.
05:52Jonesy, now, why don't you wait outside in the hall,
05:54and then when she calls, we'll come and fetch you, all right?
05:57Oh, Mr. Wilson,
05:58what would I do without your compromising suggestions?
06:03Well, sir,
06:03I should be waiting on Tenderhook, sir.
06:06Thank you, sir.
06:07Thank you, sir.
06:08Oh, dear, dear, he's really got it badly, hasn't he, sir?
06:16Here he is.
06:18What did he say?
06:19He said yes.
06:21He's a lovely man.
06:22He really is a lovely man.
06:24You shouldn't have asked him, huh?
06:27Mrs. Fox is a fine, big, with a woman.
06:30He should have taken her and hung her consequences.
06:34Oh, I don't think there'd be any consequences.
06:35By the way, she called in just before you came back.
06:40She called in?
06:41What did she say?
06:42What did she say?
06:42She said as she was passing,
06:44she'd put you out of your misery.
06:46Put me out of my misery?
06:48What does that mean?
06:50They do it to dumb animals when they're past home.
06:54It's going to ring at 8 o'clock.
06:57I think it's going to be all right.
06:59It's exciting, isn't it?
07:00Yeah.
07:01Can I come to your bachelor party
07:02the night before the wedding, Mr. Jones?
07:04Of course you can, Parker.
07:05You can all come.
07:07There'd be a lot of bachelors there, wouldn't there?
07:09I mean, Mr. Godfrey's a bachelor,
07:10I'm a bachelor,
07:11Mr. Fraser's a bachelor.
07:12Yeah, but Mr. Fraser,
07:14he hasn't always been a bachelor, have you, Mr. Fraser?
07:16Oh, yeah, I have indeed.
07:19Mind you,
07:20I've never been wanting a lassie.
07:26Oh.
07:27Well, tell me,
07:28have you ever asked one of them
07:29and then she phoned up later
07:31and said no?
07:33As a matter of fact,
07:34she said yes.
07:35For a while, anyway.
07:37Hey, man,
07:39she was a fine lassie.
07:40She had long, sturdy legs
07:46and she loved to tread the path
07:49by the high cliff
07:52with the night wind
07:54blowing through her thresses.
07:57One night,
08:01she never come back.
08:04Oh, no.
08:07It seemed
08:08she was blown over the cliff.
08:11Oh, no.
08:13She carried out to sea.
08:16Every night,
08:18I stood on that very cliff
08:20and shouted,
08:25Jesse,
08:26Jesse,
08:29will you know
08:30come back to me?
08:32But
08:33the wind just
08:34blew the words back in my face.
08:38They mocked me.
08:40Mocked me to hear.
08:43Many years after,
08:44I received a letter.
08:47I was sure that
08:53it was
08:55contained
08:55news of her.
08:59My fingers
09:00shook
09:01as I opened it.
09:04My son,
09:06I still carry it here
09:07next to my heart.
09:09Your heart's on the other side.
09:13Dear James,
09:14I shall always love you.
09:15I still wear your ring.
09:18I'm in Singapore
09:19and I want to come home
09:22and be wed.
09:24Please send
09:25£40.
09:29Yours
09:29forever.
09:32Jesse.
09:33Wow.
09:35Did you send it,
09:36Mr. Fraser?
09:38Away with you, boy.
09:39Do you think I'm made of money?
09:42There's a telephone.
09:43There's a telephone.
09:44Don't panic.
09:45Don't panic at the telephone.
09:47It's Mrs. Fox.
09:48Go on in.
09:49It's Mrs. Fox.
09:51Fraser.
09:52It's Mrs. Fox.
09:53It's Mrs. Fox.
09:55Hello, my darling.
09:57It's me.
09:58Now, you're going to give me the answer
09:59and don't keep me waiting
10:00in suspense any longer
10:01because I love you
10:03and love you
10:03and love you
10:04and I want to be with you
10:05forever and ever.
10:08Oh.
10:09It's the Colonel
10:12for you, Captain.
10:15Wow.
10:19Hello, sir.
10:20Manning here.
10:21I'm sorry about that, sir.
10:23What's he say?
10:23What happened?
10:25She turned you down.
10:27It wasn't,
10:28but it will be in a minute.
10:29I wish you'd get off that phone.
10:32You're going to be long
10:33on the phone, Captain Manning.
10:35Get out, Jones.
10:36Very good, sir.
10:37Thank you very much.
10:42Mrs. Fox,
10:43you'll be phoning up in a minute
10:44and all she'll get
10:44the engaged signal.
10:46They've...
10:46Take the phone.
10:48I see.
10:50Yes, of course.
10:52Yes.
10:52Hold on.
10:55Jones,
10:55I want you to keep you very calm.
10:56This is for you.
11:00Jack Jones!
11:01Jack Jones!
11:02She wants me to sit down, sir.
11:05Give him a chair.
11:07All right.
11:07Now, sit down here, Jonesy.
11:08Come on, sit down.
11:09Sit down and try not
11:10to get too worked up.
11:12Oh, I don't see, Mr. Wilson.
11:14He's a lovely man.
11:15He really is a lovely man.
11:17Yeah.
11:17The phone.
11:18Oh.
11:22I am now sitting down.
11:26Yes.
11:28Yes.
11:30Yes.
11:32Thank you for letting me know.
11:40I'm trying to keep calm, Captain Manning.
11:43I really am trying to keep calm.
11:44Now, never mind, Josie.
11:45Never mind.
11:46Never mind.
11:46You know, it's not the end of the world,
11:47you know.
11:48She's a lovely woman, you know.
11:49Yes.
11:50She really is a lovely woman.
11:53It's no good.
11:54I can't keep calm.
11:55I'm going to break.
11:56She said she loved me, you know.
11:58She said, yes.
12:01Yes.
12:01I've got to marry Mrs. Fox.
12:03I've got to marry Mrs. Fox.
12:05Woo!
12:06My man.
12:07I've got to marry Mrs. Fox.
12:12She would have said, no,
12:14I would have been broken, man.
12:16Very well, Mrs. Fox.
12:17I'll call around tomorrow evening,
12:18six o'clock.
12:19Yes.
12:21And you can rest assured
12:22that anything you say to me
12:23will be treated with the strictest confidence.
12:26All right.
12:28Goodbye.
12:29Come in.
12:31Oh, it's you, Wilson.
12:32Are the men gone?
12:33Yes, sir, they have.
12:34Did you, did you want them?
12:36No, I didn't,
12:37but I did want to speak to you again about Jones.
12:39Oh, yes, he is still rather excitable, isn't he?
12:41You'd have thought he might have calmed down after a week.
12:43Do you think I'm doing the right thing
12:44in letting him go ahead with this?
12:46Well, you have no authority to do anything else.
12:48On the other hand,
12:49it may work out all right, Your Honor.
12:52After all, they're both the same class.
12:54Yes.
12:57Do you really think class matters?
12:59Oh, no question.
13:00No question about it at all.
13:02Families that make the trouble.
13:04I had to contend with all sorts of snobbish rubbish
13:06when I married Elizabeth.
13:08Did you, as it were,
13:10marry beneath you?
13:12Oh, no, no.
13:13No, the family rather thought that she did.
13:15Oh.
13:18She's very well connected, you know, Elizabeth.
13:21Her father was the suffragian bishop of Clagthorpe.
13:24Was he really?
13:25They had a very sheltered life, you know, Elizabeth.
13:29Ha, ha.
13:31Very funny.
13:32Do you know if she hadn't even,
13:34she hadn't even tried tomato sauce
13:37before she met me?
13:39Jeez.
13:41I felt it.
13:42I soon put that right.
13:45If you were marrying,
13:46you must have opened up a whole new world for her.
13:50Yes, I think it did.
13:52Wow.
13:52Well, I never felt,
13:54I never felt at ease with her parents, you know.
13:58Always got the impression
13:58they were looking down their noses at me.
14:01Yeah, this was even after I'd become assistant manager.
14:03Oh, weren't they impressed by that?
14:05Not a bit.
14:06It was quite a big branch, too, you know.
14:09I had my own partition cubicle.
14:12Did you?
14:13Still, Jones and Mrs. Fox
14:16won't be bothered with things like that, will they?
14:19Mrs. Fox has asked me to go around and see her, you know.
14:22If it's a question of advice,
14:24I shall be noncommittal.
14:26Let no man put asunder, eh, Wilson?
14:29Yes, quite right, sir.
14:30Marriage falls asunder quite easily anyway, doesn't it?
14:35Oh, no.
14:36Not in my case.
14:38I...
14:39I've had a very happy marriage.
14:42Very happy indeed.
14:45Yeah.
14:46Seem happy.
14:48That's all.
14:49Good night, sir.
14:50Good night.
14:51Good night.
14:55Good morning.
14:57It is open.
14:58Just give it a push.
14:59Mrs. Fox?
15:09Mrs. Fox?
15:11Oh, hello, Captain Manoring.
15:14My goodness, it's not six o'clock already, is it?
15:16It's six o'clock to be precise.
15:20Oh, my clock's stopped again, I am sorry.
15:23Anyway, make yourself at home, I won't be a second.
15:26I'll leave the door open so we can keep on talking while I'm getting dressed.
15:32Oh, whoa.
15:36Look, I'll come back in five minutes.
15:38Oh, no, no, no, no.
15:39Oh, please don't go.
15:41I'm perfectly decent underneath.
15:43Oh, I'm quite sure you are.
15:45Please get down.
15:46Please.
15:47Oh, very well.
15:48There.
15:49I hope you don't mind coming to my little nest.
15:53It's humble, but it's all mine.
16:04Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
16:07I mean, keep it nice, dear.
16:08I wanted a few moments alone with you before the others arrive.
16:12The others?
16:12What others?
16:13Oh, Mrs. Pike and Mr. Wilson.
16:16Oh.
16:17Oh, my goodness, I've got a catch.
16:21Do you think that'll run?
16:23I don't know, I'm sure.
16:26Would you mind awfully if I didn't put them on?
16:29Not in the least.
16:31Well, I think a lady...
16:33I don't like to see a lady with bare legs,
16:35and, well, I think a ladder looks even more abandoned.
16:38Don't you?
16:41Yes, yes, I'm sure you're right.
16:44I expect you're wondering what's on my mind.
16:47Yes, I am.
16:50Well, you see, it's like this, Mr. Mannering.
16:52I've always had what you might call a soft spot for you,
16:57and I've had a very high regard for you as well.
17:01Oh, dear.
17:02I...
17:02I'm not expressing myself very well, am I?
17:08Mr. Mannering?
17:10Yes?
17:11You don't want me to beat about the bush, do you?
17:15I'm not quite sure.
17:17Well, you see, I haven't got a father.
17:20In fact, I've no male relations whatsoever.
17:24You wouldn't give me away, would you?
17:27Wouldn't I?
17:30At the wedding?
17:31Oh, at the wedding.
17:32Oh, I see what you mean, yes.
17:33Oh, well, yes, of course, if you wish me to.
17:35Oh, Mr. Mannering.
17:37Oh, you are a darling.
17:40Oh, you're going to get in trouble.
17:42I have no idea what a weight that is off my mind.
17:45Look, I think I'll go and come back when the others are due to arrive.
17:49Hi.
17:50Hi there.
17:51Oh, come in, Mrs. Pike.
17:54Come and log in, Arthur.
17:56Come in, Frank.
17:57Ah, the crew.
17:59Oh, good evening.
17:59Good evening, folks.
18:00Oh, good evening, dear.
18:01Take your hat off, Frank.
18:03Where are your manners?
18:06You're here early, Mr. Mannering?
18:07No, no, no.
18:08I was punctual for my appointment.
18:10Mr. Manning practically caught me in the bath.
18:14Whoa!
18:15That's somewhat of an exaggeration.
18:17I hope you don't mind me bringing Frank,
18:20but we don't like to leave him on his own when there's a war on.
18:24Do we, Arthur?
18:25Well, I don't know.
18:27Take your scarf off.
18:28There are so many funny people about.
18:31That's right, dear.
18:32Mum, what could funny people do to me if they found me on me own in wartime?
18:38Never you mind.
18:40Ooh!
18:41Milbred!
18:42Come in, Jack.
18:44Hello, everyone.
18:45Oh, don't move.
18:47Don't move.
18:48I want to remember you just standing there.
18:54Isn't he lovely?
18:57I'm sorry I'm late.
18:58Oh, you're dead on time, Jonesy.
18:59Mr. Mannering was here first.
19:01Had to help Mrs. Fox out the bath.
19:04It was all quite innocent, wasn't it, Mr. Mannering?
19:07Oh, totally innocent, totally.
19:08Well, now Jack's here.
19:09I think we can start.
19:11Will you all please sit down?
19:12Yes.
19:13Come and sit down, Arthur.
19:14All right, thank you.
19:15Sit down, Frank.
19:16Over here?
19:17Yes.
19:17All right.
19:19Sit down, boy.
19:23Sit down.
19:23Sorry.
19:24I'm very happy to announce that Mr. Mannering is going to give me away.
19:42Oh, very nice.
19:44Frank, give over, dear.
19:46And Mrs. Pike has kindly consented to be Matron of Honour.
19:50And Mr. Wilson's going to be best man.
19:53You're going to be best man?
19:54Yes, that's right.
19:54I am, yes.
19:55I hope you'll write everything down, otherwise you'll forget it.
19:57Oh, naturally, we won't be having a white wedding.
20:01Why not?
20:05This is a war on.
20:07Now, the bride and the Matron of Honour will be in turquoise.
20:12Now, what about the men?
20:13Well, I'm going to be wearing my regimental regalia with medals.
20:18Oh, that's very nice.
20:20Yes.
20:21I think all the men should be in uniform.
20:25With medals?
20:25I don't think that's a good idea at all.
20:29No, no, you see, because Mr. Mannering and me haven't got any medals, have you?
20:33Ha, ha!
20:35Yep.
20:37Oh, shit.
20:41It's got nothing at all to do with it.
20:44I just think people are getting tired of uniform.
20:46Oh, I don't agree.
20:48Let's put it to the vote.
20:50Now, hands up for uniform and medals.
20:53Put your hand down, boy, you know.
20:59Don't seem to be outvoted.
21:02Well, that's settled then.
21:04Now, the flowers.
21:06Here, Mildred, can't you get out the bath on your own?
21:10Do I want...
21:11Uh-oh.
21:16Right, everything's in order in the church.
21:17I've checked it myself.
21:19Wilson's job, really, of course, but you can't rely on him.
21:22Hello, Napoleon.
21:23I'm just off to the church.
21:24Everything under control, is it?
21:25Of course.
21:27I didn't know you'd been invited.
21:29Of course I've been invited.
21:30I'm a friend of the bride.
21:31All the guests are ready in church.
21:36Don't you think Mr Jones should get in there as well?
21:37It's 5-2.
21:395-2?
21:39Is it so late?
21:40Jones!
21:46There's no sign of Mr Wilson yet,
21:48and I'm getting myself in a state.
21:51Is it bad luck when the best man doesn't turn up?
21:53It's damned inconvenient.
21:55You'd better get over to the church.
21:57It's all right, Mr Jones.
21:58He'll be here all right.
21:59He was ready when I left.
22:00Only, you see, he was rude to Mum,
22:02so she's had to put him in his place.
22:04Go to the church, Mr Jones.
22:05The bride will be here any second.
22:07We don't want you meeting before the ceremony, do we?
22:09No, we don't want that, do we?
22:11Now, that is a bad old man.
22:12That is a bad old man.
22:13Come on, church.
22:14Oh, yes, right.
22:17Remember, I want a clear understanding.
22:20No confetti.
22:21Yes, I think we understand that, Mr Gateman.
22:23Thank you very much.
22:24I'm terribly sorry if I'm a little bit late.
22:27Mr Jones, I think you are.
22:31Where have you been?
22:40What's all this?
22:41I know, I'm awfully sorry, sir,
22:42but you see, maybe, sir, Mrs Pike insisted.
22:44I'm wearing my uniform from the First World War.
22:46She found it in a...
22:47She found it in an old tin trunk.
22:51It looks ridiculous.
22:52Yes.
22:53Well, I wouldn't have dreamt of putting it on,
22:54but, I mean, she'd hidden my trousers.
22:57An officer's uniform?
22:59Yes, that's right.
22:59I was an officer.
23:00You never told me.
23:01Well, you didn't ask me.
23:03Anyway, it was unimportant.
23:06These pips denote the rank of captain.
23:08Yes, that's right.
23:08I was a captain.
23:10Well, I'm blessed.
23:12Doesn't count for anything now, you know.
23:14Bye-bye.
23:17Are you there, Mr Mallory?
23:18Look, you'd better go off into church.
23:20All right.
23:20Try not to make a fool of yourself.
23:21Yes, all right.
23:22All right.
23:26Oh.
23:27Well, well, well, you do look a pretty pair.
23:31What a lovely bride you make, Mrs Fox.
23:34Won't be Mrs Fox much longer?
23:36No.
23:37No, indeed it won't.
23:38Right, well, we're ready when you are, Vicar.
23:41Off we go, then.
23:44Remember, I want a solemn undertaking.
23:47No confetti.
23:48Oh, come on, Mr.
23:49All right.
23:50Will you take my arm, Mrs Fox?
24:00Mr Mallory?
24:01Hmm?
24:02I think I'm going to cry.
24:04Oh, do try not to.
24:08This is beautiful, man.
24:10Got me in a field today.
24:16Once it's ready, here they come.
24:19No confetti, no confetti.
24:28I'm going to throw confetti so Yabu sucks to you.
24:34Here.
24:35Don't be a sports book.
24:37That's right.
24:39Let's go.
24:40I thought you said no confetti.
24:44I did enjoy that.
24:46So did I.
24:47Ah, it's a pagan ceremony.
24:50And in that case, I should have thought that.
24:52A complete waste of time.
24:54Captain Manorin, sir.
24:55Captain Manorin.
24:56The Colonel's just been on the phone, sir.
24:58He wants you to put the platoon on 30 minutes standby.
25:00Thank you, Mr Mallory.
25:03You hear that?
25:0330 minutes standby.
25:04Must be something you thought.
25:05Well, we're all here.
25:07I will keep it under our hats for the time being, but I think we ought to push things along, don't you?
25:10Right, sir.
25:10Start the speeches.
25:11Right, sir.
25:11Yes, yes, of course.
25:12Keep yours short.
25:13Yes, I will, yes.
25:13Don't get drunk.
25:14What?
25:14Well, what are these, Miss Godfrey?
25:18It's cider.
25:20I'm going to make us tipsy.
25:22No, well, here's the bride and groom.
25:24Bride and groom.
25:25Probably your turn next, Mr Godfrey.
25:29Charles nearly got married once.
25:31Didn't you, Charles?
25:32I wanted to.
25:33It would never have done.
25:34Her parents lived in a bungalow.
25:36She married a farmer.
25:39I see her from time to time.
25:41Do you?
25:42She's a widow now.
25:44Is she?
25:45Up another one, Miss Godfrey.
25:48Now, have your attention, please.
25:50Pray silence for Captain Manrin, who is acting as the bride's father.
26:00Ladies and gentlemen, Jack and, uh, and, uh, Milton.
26:06I'm not going to make a long speech.
26:09Good.
26:12Nice one.
26:14Now, I've known Jack for many years, and he's the salt of the earth.
26:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
26:20He's loyal, he's brave, and he's very kind.
26:25And I have no hesitation in saying to you, uh, Mildred,
26:30that he's the first man you should turn to if you're in any sort of trouble.
26:35Well, she's not in trouble, Captain Manrin.
26:37No, no, no, no.
26:40I wish you both the very best of luck,
26:43and may you be as happy as I have been with my own dear wife,
26:47who unfortunately can't be with us this afternoon.
26:50Where is she, then?
26:52She's staying with her sister.
26:55Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Jack and, uh, Milton.
26:58Jack and, uh, Milton.
27:00Woo!
27:01Come on, speech.
27:02Come on, give us speech.
27:03Come on.
27:04Speech, speech, speech, speech.
27:06You've got to give the speech.
27:07You, you.
27:08Oh, oh.
27:09Uh, ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to thank Captain Manrin
27:12for saying all those kind things,
27:15and also for standing in as the bride's father, which he isn't.
27:20Jesus.
27:21Thank you all for coming along,
27:23and good health, everyone.
27:24Good health.
27:25Good health.
27:26Good health.
27:26Good luck.
27:28Your turn now.
27:29What?
27:31Keep it short.
27:32Well, I don't have to speak at all.
27:33Yes, you do.
27:34You have to toast the matron of honour.
27:38Ladies and gentlemen,
27:39Mr. Captain, uh, Sergeant Wilson.
27:43Now say a few words.
27:45All right.
27:46Thank you very much indeed, everybody,
27:47but, uh, it's my pleasure to propose the toast of the, uh,
27:50of the bridesmaid, or the, uh, matron of honour, I should say.
27:54Uh, uh, a lady whom I've known for a considerable number of years.
28:01Well, you are, you are one of that happy band of, uh,
28:05women who give out so much affection and, uh, so much love,
28:10which you don't always get in return.
28:12Anyway, I, uh...
28:14Damn, Pike!
28:15I think that hat you're wearing is very pretty.
28:17I like it.
28:18Anyway, I'd like to propose now the...
28:21the health
28:22of the matron of honour.
28:25Matron of honour!
28:26This is fine.
28:27We haven't cut the cake.
28:29Whatever next?
28:29Oh, ho, ho!
28:30We forget our heads if they weren't screwed on, wouldn't we?
28:33Oh, ho, ho!
28:34Now, where's my bayonet?
28:35Captain Manorin, sir!
28:36Captain Manorin!
28:37Colonel's on the phone again.
28:38He wants to speak to you personally.
28:40Yes, come along, guys.
28:41Go around.
28:41Here we go.
28:49Here we go.
28:50No, no, no, no!
28:51Oh, no, that's only cardboard.
28:54Oh!
28:54Oh!
29:01There.
29:02There is a war on, you know.
29:06Hello, sir.
29:07Manorin here.
29:08Ah, Manorin.
29:10Everything's a bit confused here.
29:12But all units are standing by immediately.
29:14Good Lord.
29:15Does that mean the balloon's gone up?
29:16Well, not exactly.
29:18But barges are moving around the North Sea coast.
29:20And the weather's right, so we can't take any chances.
29:23Right, sir.
29:24I'll put my men at action stations at once.
29:26Good luck.
29:26Thank you, sir.
29:35Ladies and gentlemen, please.
29:36Order, please.
29:37Aye, fine.
29:38Please.
29:38I'd like to have your attention for a moment.
29:43There's no cause for alarm, but I want all members of the Home Guard to parade outside in the yard immediately, please.
29:48As quickly as you can.
29:51Pick up your rifles on the way.
29:54What's going on, Napoleon?
29:55You'd better contact your headquarters at once.
29:57There's an invasion alert on.
30:00There'll always be an England
30:03While there's a country lane
30:08Where there's a land
30:10Bet you didn't think you were going to spend your wedding night with me, did you, Mr. Jones?
30:16That's right.
30:17You're not, Pikey.
30:18There you are.
30:20You're going to the Esplanade Hotel Eastgate, weren't you?
30:22Yeah.
30:23Never mind.
30:25Duty comes first.
30:27I wonder if they give me the deposit back on the room.
30:32Oh!
30:32Who goes there?
30:34It's me!
30:35Mrs. Jones.
30:36Mrs. Jones?
30:37I thought I'd come and sit with you a while.
30:48Oh, that's a good idea.
30:50Here, Pikey.
30:51You keep a good look out
30:52and me and the missus
30:54will go and sit down and have a nice little chat.
30:57A nice little cuddle and all.
30:59Nothing like that, Pikey.
31:01Come on.
31:02Come on, my precious.
31:05Yes, right.
31:07Oh, Jack.
31:10Oh.
31:11When this is all over, Jack,
31:14can we go and live in a little cottage?
31:17Yes.
31:18With roses round the door.
31:19Oh, yes.
31:21And a big fridge in the kitchen.
31:24What's one of the big fridge for?
31:27Keep all the big joints of meat in.
31:30Well, after the war.
31:32Oh, yes.
31:33After the war.
31:34Not that we won't have a joint or two before then, of course.
31:42Oh, who goes there?
31:44All right, Pike.
31:45Well done.
31:46Certainly house.
31:47Any sign of anything?
31:48No, it's been ever so quiet.
31:50Where's Corporal Jones?
31:51Where he should be on his wedding night.
31:54With his bride.
31:55You stupid boy.
32:01You know, I'm Captain Madden.
32:03I've just been having a little chat with me and the wife, you know.
32:06I've kept ever so alert, though.
32:07I've just sent her home.
32:09Yes, that's all right, now.
32:10Now, Sergeant Wilson has found a bottle of champagne,
32:12so we thought we'd come and drink our health.
32:14Oh, that's good, isn't it?
32:15Hand the glasses round.
32:16I haven't brought any glasses, sir.
32:19What's the good of champagne without glasses?
32:21Well, I thought you said you were going to bring the glasses.
32:23Where would I find glasses?
32:24Well, I don't, I don't.
32:26There's a couple of mugs here I brought for our co-calking.
32:28Use them.
32:29All right.
32:30Minutes and glass.
32:31Yes, well, I suppose that'll have to do them.
32:33All right.
32:34Pour it out.
32:34All right.
32:36There you are, gentsy.
32:37Keep a good look out over the sea, boy.
32:39You're too young for champagne, anyway.
32:44Oh, come on, bro.
32:45What are you lot doing here?
32:48In case you'd forgotten, there's an invasion alert on.
32:51Well, haven't you heard it was a false alarm?
32:54We got to stand down half an hour ago.
32:55Sir Hitler won't be joining us tonight, then.
32:57No.
32:58Just as well were you lot guarding us.
33:00What does that mean?
33:01Well, I mean, look at you.
33:04What good would you be against real soldiers?
33:07Oh, dear.
33:09They'd walk straight through you.
33:11Good night.
33:12Good night.
33:15Here he's no business.
33:17All right.
33:17All right.
33:19Don't take any notice of him, then.
33:20Here's to your future health.
33:22Yes, yes, to you, Jonesy.
33:23Good night, sir.
33:24Good night to you.
33:25Mr. Manorine.
33:26Oh?
33:28Warden wasn't right, was he, when he said the Nazis would walk straight through us?
33:32Of course he wasn't right.
33:34I know one thing.
33:35They're not walking straight through me.
33:37Not me.
33:39I'll be beside you, Jonesy.
33:41We'll all be beside you, Jonesy.
33:43They'll stick together.
33:44You can rely on that.
33:45Anybody who tries to take our homes or our freedom away from us, they'll find out what
33:49we can do.
33:51We'll fight.
33:53And we're not alone.
33:54There are thousands of us all over England.
33:56And Scotland.
33:57And Scotland.
33:59And Great Britain, in fact.
34:00Men who'll stand together when their country needs them.
34:03Excuse me, sir.
34:03Don't you think it might be a nice idea if we were to pay our tribute to them?
34:09For once, Wilson, I agree with you.
34:11To Britain's home guard.
34:15To Britain's home guard.
34:22To Britain's home guard, baby.
34:25Let's go.
34:28Now that is how you ended episode.
34:37I love this show, man.
34:39I just is a bastard.
34:53All right, ladies and gentlemen.
35:19We're going to talk about it.
35:21Don't go anywhere.
35:22If you made it this far, use the code word MEAT in the comments down below, ladies and
35:27gentlemen.
35:28Ladies and gentlemen, is she in love with me for my meat, ladies and gentlemen?
35:35This is how you have a send-off for the finale.
35:42I feel like this is one of the best finales that we have seen.
35:45It's been a remarkably awesome journey.
35:50These characters are just beautiful inside and out, man.
35:55They tug on your heartstrings.
35:56They tug on your heartstrings.
35:57You have memorable moments, memorable lines from Don't Panic, Do You Think It's Wiser, to Don't
36:04Tell Him, Pike, ladies and gentlemen.
36:06Excuse me.
36:06Voice cracked because this is an emotional freaking episode.
36:09My voice cracked like freaking my boy Jonesy's voice when he got on the phone.
36:15And Captain Menor is like, all right, settle down for a second before you answer this story.
36:23That's it.
36:24That is how you got to be feeling.
36:26I wanted to jump out my seat for my boy Jonesy, man.
36:32Jonesy's a real one.
36:33I think that throughout the whole series, he has demonstrated his loyalty, his fierceness,
36:41his bravery, his great storytelling, his impeccable timing in, you know, standing at attention
36:49and just a lovable character.
36:52He's my favorite character by far.
36:55I miss my boy.
36:57I miss my boy Walker in that moment there.
37:00I couldn't help but think and forgive me, guys.
37:03I couldn't help but think that in that moment, I think that Walker would have been his best
37:08man.
37:09And I think about a lot of the episodes that he had such a great bond with Jonesy that
37:15I really feel that he would have been the best man.
37:19But I'm sure in that moment there, obviously, you know, he would have been smiling down.
37:24You know what I mean?
37:26Yeah, that's how I feel, you know, because he didn't get to, you know, finish, you know,
37:31finish the thing.
37:32But I'm sure he would have been smiling down, you know, with, you know, with joy and shit.
37:36I'm sorry to be all cheesy.
37:37I know it probably sounds stupid for me saying this shit.
37:40But man, he was an incredible, you know, James Beckman, incredible actor that we got to
37:45experience his performance memorable.
37:47But yeah, I feel like, man, he would have got them.
37:50He would have made it happen.
37:51They would have got a bigger cake, ladies and gentlemen.
37:54But you know what?
37:55There is a war going on.
37:57So it's never, you're never too old.
38:01I got a good friend of mine, she has a saying, it's never too late as well.
38:06It's something that I try to instill in my life.
38:10You know, it's never too late and you're never too old to do things.
38:13You know what I'm saying?
38:15You know, as long as you're still standing, you got the means to do it, do it, ladies and
38:20gentlemen.
38:20So I really liked the title of today's, you know, uh, today's, um, episode or, uh, the
38:25final episode, ladies and gentlemen, but I think, man, it was such a great episode.
38:30Like it had all the laughs that you can have, uh, the disappointments, uh, of captain mannering,
38:37uh, you know, interacting with Pike and Wilson with the rank and shit, you know, that he's been
38:43bothered by that for quite some time.
38:46Um, and you know, the social, the, the statuses, uh, you know, with even, you know, with Wilson
38:52having a higher status, ideally, you know, it, it rubs him the wrong way.
38:56You know what I mean?
38:57So he's got a quick to say, well, it doesn't matter here right now.
39:01Oh man.
39:02Captain mannerings facial expressions throughout the show are going to be some to, uh, remember,
39:08but I also got to say to my boy Frasier and for Scotland, um, you got to remember that
39:15this guy is such a great storyteller, man.
39:18My man, he can scare you with some horror stories.
39:21Uh, you know, he has such a perfect voice as well, uh, you know, for telling a story.
39:27So I've really enjoyed his character as the series gone on and on.
39:31Uh, and I'm sad because it, you know, um, the series is done, but I really think it's
39:36such a strong finale, uh, ladies and gentlemen, but I will say this real quick before I forget.
39:43Uh, our homie Graham, I sent us, uh, the dad's army, like the newer version movie, uh, movie.
39:50We're going to see it.
39:51Obviously it's not going to have the character, you know, um, you know, what, who we grown
39:55watching on the series, not grown watching, but you know, uh, been seeing in the past,
39:59you know, years, a couple of years, uh, and, um, we're going to be, you know, we're going
40:04to be checking out the movie.
40:06I think it's a good thing to see.
40:07So if you want to watch it alongside me, stay tuned next, you know, to the next week
40:12and stuff when, you know, I'll have to be recording it at some point, uh, to watch the
40:16movie.
40:16So we'll, you know, we'll have something else with dad's army.
40:19And I think at later dates, there are a couple of things that I want to check out, uh, with
40:23some of the cast.
40:24Um, so, you know, stay tuned, stay tuned.
40:27We still got some more stuff to check out, uh, you know, over the course of time, but
40:30yeah, we're going to check out the movie.
40:32Um, if you want to watch it, you know, just stay tuned, you know, make sure you got notifications
40:36on all that good stuff, subscribe to the channel free, but man, I I've, I've just been in awe
40:41man, uh, to see the characters that we've loved, but, uh, you know, Mrs. Fox, great character.
40:47I think she's been great.
40:48She's always been kind of a beacon of light, um, as well.
40:52And, and I think she really vibes right with my boy, you know, uh, my boy Jonesy, man,
40:57such a great character, man.
41:00They don't like it up, man.
41:02Dang, man.
41:03I, I, I find myself, I say a lot of these lines and stuff.
41:06People that watch me on my dreams and shit, they'll know I say a lot of these lines, uh,
41:10you know, a lot of lines from a lot of the shows have stuck with me from, you know, lovely,
41:16you know, lovely jubbly, you know, two pints, frig, two pints, your frig, uh, you know,
41:20everything, a lot of things stick with me.
41:22And, um, to me, that's always a sign of a good show.
41:26You know what I'm saying?
41:27Uh, I remember watching, uh, you know, married with children and, you know, Al Bundy used
41:34to put his, you know, he puts his hands in his pants and like still to this day, I do
41:38it.
41:38So like, I know it's gross or whatever, but it is what it is.
41:42Some great shows, they rub off things, sayings, quality, you know, and you just, you just
41:49know that, Hey, they become a part of you, you know, as cheesy as that may sound, but
41:53I thought, uh, the show was phenomenal.
41:56Obviously great writing, great delivery.
41:59You have memorable, memorable characters, amazing adventures, you know, um, man, you know,
42:06you had some episodes that were a little weaker and stuff like that, like any show.
42:10I mean, this is a long series.
42:12So, you know, some episodes may not be up to, uh, you know, the standards, uh, that they
42:17set, but I think overall, this is a, just a remarkable show, uh, ladies and gentlemen,
42:22you know, plenty of good moments, uh, you know, yada, yada, the list goes on.
42:26You already know the drill.
42:27If you're watching this show, you already know, but, um, you know, for those that have
42:31been watching for the first time, I really, truly, uh, you know, hope that you have enjoyed
42:36it as well.
42:36Um, you know, thank you for, you know, hanging out with me, ladies and gentlemen, I appreciate
42:41you all.
42:41I'm not going to lie.
42:42I do want some cake, ladies and gentlemen.
42:44Damn it, man.
42:45I love cake that is one of my weaknesses and I try not to eat too much sweets.
42:51However, man, you know, when it comes to, you know, like birthday time, when it comes
42:56to, you know, like a, like a mother's day, you know, father's day, I'm always buying them
43:00cakes and shit because I, it's more for me, man, because I got to have some cakes, but
43:04thank you guys.
43:05I really do appreciate you guys hanging out.
43:07I hope that you enjoyed hanging out with me.
43:09Um, you know, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
43:11This episode got me in the feels, man.
43:13There was some beautiful moments where Mrs. Fox was like, she thinks she's going to cry.
43:17I was about to break me.
43:18You know what I mean?
43:19It was about to break me, but I thought it was a beautiful moment there.
43:23But I got to say, I loved how Jonesy looks to bannering a lot for guidance.
43:29Uh, you know, that, that's just a deep, deep respect.
43:33And that's there.
43:35You know what I'm saying?
43:35So deep, so much that he's so respected.
43:38I like to think that Mrs. Fox looked him.
43:42I thought that was a beautiful moment.
43:44You don't got, you know, father and stuff like that.
43:46So I thought that was such a beautiful moment.
43:49Uh, you know, and him saying, uh, I will be a little sad, obviously that we never got to
43:55see Mrs.
43:57Mannering.
43:57I'll always wonder, uh, you know, it was almost like Mina from still game, but not quite.
44:04And I got to say real quick too, speaking of still game, my boy Frazier is like Tam from
44:09still game cheap as shit, man.
44:10That story that he was like, yo, did you pay the date?
44:13Nah, man.
44:14I loved it.
44:14I loved it.
44:15Instantly thought of Tam.
44:17Again, this is what I'm talking about.
44:19You watch shows, characters, they, you know, they stick with you if they're good, if they're
44:24good and they've done a great performance, you know, they've done something that leads
44:28something that to me, you know, it's like an everlasting, you know, impression.
44:33And I'm going to remember it, ladies and gentlemen, you know, if it's someone that's not that great,
44:37you know, you know, one off and shit, I'm sorry.
44:39I ain't going to remember all that stuff, but you know, for characters like this, characters
44:44in the show, you know, shit, only fools, the still games, the rabs, the list goes on, you
44:50know, Ronnie B porridge, you know, open all hours, you know, uh, yeah, man, we have watched
44:55some incredible shows.
44:57So I just, um, if you happen to be new to this channel, you know, when you're on my homepage,
45:01you know, scroll down a little bit to the TV series reactions, we've done a lot of shows,
45:06check it out.

45:16uh, you know, amount of shows that we're doing.
45:17We're always doing so many shows and I love it.
45:19So, um, it doesn't get boring to me.
45:21It's always exciting.
45:22And, you know, thank you guys.
45:24I know we've been yapping.
