00:00J. Krishnamurti was chosen and groomed by the Theosophical Society to become the world teacher,

00:05to be the spiritual guru of the world. He was being prepared for that role and today was

00:09supposed to be his coronation. The prince was now to ascend the throne and at that very moment he

00:13said, I maintain the truth is a pathless land. He said, I don't want it. Now just imagine the

00:21moment he walked away. He had been groomed for this. It was a 15 year long project. He came

00:24from a very poor family. They picked him up from there and brought him in. They were small.

00:27They were heavily invested in for 15 years, given a lot of education. And when their education

00:32couldn't be completed in India, they were sent abroad, educated overseas. From the way he spoke

00:36to the way he dressed, everything was given to him as part of a carefully crafted project.

00:41But because he attained true wisdom, he said, this project is flawed. I'm not going to be

00:45a part of it. Just imagine the moment he walked away on that takes courage, doesn't it? That

00:50takes real guts. And had he accepted it that day, we wouldn't have had Krishnamurti. There

00:55would be no royal road to liberation. The path is made by walking. Truth is a pathless

00:59land. And even if a path comes into being, it will be through your own walking. No one

01:04will hand you a ready made road. I'd set out alone in search of the destination. But

01:09people kept joining along the way. The caravan kept growing.
