Alcaraz and Sinner: ATP stars awestruck by 'crazy' levels

Did the epic Alcaraz-Sinner French Open final raise the bar heading into Wimbledon? ATP stars have their say.

00:00If you want to win a slam, you've got to beat these guys, right?

00:09They are at the top of the game.

00:11They're bringing out some incredible level,

00:14as we all saw in that Roland Garros final.

00:17I don't usually watch tennis matches.

00:20That match I was glued to the TV.

00:22And that was by far the best tennis match I've ever watched in my life.

00:27It was incredible to see the heights that they're taking the game,

00:30the amount of shot making that they were able to produce,

00:33the movement, the athleticism.

00:35It was out of the world, you know.

00:36If you look at these rallies and the way physically they're ready,

00:40it's just insane, you know.

00:42The level of how they run to their shots on the run

00:44and just managing to hit it as much, as powerful as possible be.

00:49It's just crazy.

00:50If you compare to Roger and Rafa or Novak,

00:53like those three, Carlos and Yannick,

00:56they have different games.

00:58So when they play against each other,

00:59you have an opposition of style, of game.

01:02Them two being number one and number two in the world

01:04and the two best tennis players in the world right now,

01:06they just bring the best out of each other

01:08and every time they play the level is just ridiculous.

01:10It's just great for the sport that we have now these two guys

01:13and everyone was worried if it was going to happen

01:16if Federer, Djokovic and Nadal is going to go,

01:18but as we saw in the final,

01:20it probably was maybe the best final in the history of tennis.

01:23Alcaraz from one side and Sinner to the other side is like,

01:27I don't know, comparing years, years ago was,

01:31I think, Agassi with Sampras and something like that

01:33and Roger and Nadal.

01:35To say that everybody's striving to get to that level,

01:37yes, everybody is.

01:38To get to that level, is it possible?

01:40Hopefully.

01:41Obviously, when I see this level, it's something crazy

01:44and of course, you start to be more pumped.

01:48It's like, okay, I want also to try to do something similar.

01:53Both of those guys are so complete at such a young age,

01:56so it's a really exciting time to be a tennis fan

01:59and it's a really exciting time to be able to compete

02:00against both of those guys.

02:02Year after year, they are more mature,

02:04so they're even more consistent.

02:06So they won eight majors together,

02:11so it's getting bigger and bigger and they're still young.

02:14So I think the tennis is in good hands, yeah.

02:18And then, yeah.
