00:00You have to be ready to be able to deal with anything that comes through the door.

00:10Breathe for me.

00:15There are four major trauma centres in each corner of London.

00:21Airport everywhere.

00:22What's the blood doing at the moment? Is it trickling down his arm or is it spurting out?

00:26Across the 6,000 calls that we take every day, we identify the most critically injured patient.

00:33That's when London Advent Service gets involved.

00:36It doesn't matter how old you are, everybody wants their mum.

00:40It is like the Avengers coming together.

00:51Everyone says it, everyone preaches about it, you know, like love your people.

00:56But then something like this actually happens.

00:59And you'll realise how fragile life is.

01:03This injury is life changing.

01:05I really feel vulnerable.

01:08People are gifting you great faith in what you're about to do to them.

01:12But ultimately for me, it's about

01:17putting people back together again.

01:18The London major trauma system is one of the most advanced trauma systems in the world.

01:31Oh my God!

01:32I'm here breathing another day.

01:44It's like team sport.

01:48But the difference is that we've always got to win.

02:02And you, as if we don't have these shortfall missions, that's right.

02:03But for everyone, it's like I'm here.

02:05But to be honest, we're not in that way.
