Kathua, J&K – In a tragic turn of events, wrestler Sonu from Jalandhar died after collapsing during the final match of an annual Dangal competition in the Dinga Amb area of Kathua district. The bout was against Rinku from Delhi.
A viral video shows the match at an intense stage when Sonu suddenly fell unconscious. Spectators were stunned when he didn’t respond. He was rushed to Hiranagar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Organisers halted the event as mourning spread across the venue. Sonu was reportedly fit and trained regularly. Police have launched an investigation, and the body has been sent for postmortem.
