00:00Raiders of the Lost Ark was the thing where I was like I want to do that I remember thinking I
00:17think maybe archaeology is is and then I saw real genius and I was like you know what I want to start
00:23inventing things and then eventually it was like I think I just want to be an actor it's West Side
00:27Story when I was a kid I was like in fifth grade and I did that show the first time and it was the
00:32first time I felt like I was really feeling actual emotions the movie that I I did see for the first
00:39time and I felt like oh this this man is is speaking to me I understand him his tender mercies and and it
00:48was Robert Duvall that that I became obsessed with he was my hero I saw a production of a Midsummer
00:56Nightstream at the Olivier Theatre when I was a kid and Timothy Spore was playing bottom and I was
01:02completely stunned by him for me acting was making sure I was around my dad making sure I could have a
01:11connection not just with him but with his world it was more about belonging to that family more of a
01:17kind of like a circus family who's moving and you just don't want to be left out and you join you
01:24not actually it was a friend of mine in college they put on a play I said to myself I can do that
01:32at least he was awful the most essential thing that I have always put in is I'm so bad with names and
01:40faces is that I need a kind of name of every single person on the cast and crew so that I can try and
01:47remember people's names which normally by the end of the shoot I've got down just in time for it to be
01:52useless you know what I do like is Topo Chico the sparkling water I drink a lot of it tennis rackets
02:00tennis balls and all kinds of stuff that made me feel like it was Eric's room I like cooking so I
02:06bring my knives I don't know why but that keeps me sane you know having one or two pictures of your
02:12kids and something that you can connect easily with and remind you what you're going back to soon
02:18you know and a nice pillow you know I generally just have a computer and you know like anyone else
02:24couple books it's always useful to have like the script that you're working on I find that that's
02:29helpful I have this van that is an extension of my home and and my family is in that van with me now
02:39whenever I'm not at home and I go I carry it to pretty much everything that I do I've just spent the last six months
02:46doing Fallout going to it every day and I can't tell you what it has meant to my peace of mind using
02:55it as a trailer is something that that means a great deal to me if I could switch jobs with any
03:02profession for just one day it would be like a White House correspondent not now really because it would
03:09be a bummer maybe in like 1987 or something like during Iran Contra that would have been really fun
03:15I think I would do music I think I would want to be like a rock star play Coachella for many years I
03:24thought like I could be a good soccer player but I was obviously lying to myself my kids are 14 and 16
03:31and and their lives are starting to like get away from me so I'll try to find the job that gets me
03:37closer I work for the Washington Gas Company it was like being a pirate you know on a truck all day
03:44with a bunch of hooligans it was best gig ever so if I could do that one more day again I'd ride the
03:51truck with the boys I've always dreamt of being a pizza maker at Pizza Express and I have a friend who
03:57was pizza maker of Pizza Express and says it gets pretty boring after the first day so I would love
04:02to do it just for a day I actually enjoy just puttering around the house in the backyard listening
04:09to podcasts it sounds like I'm 77 years old and sometimes it feels that way but I like just being
04:17like not leaving my house and just finding things to do around tennis maybe a little like hot tub vibe
04:25oh I usually play volleyball on Sundays I'd be sleeping right now I would be asleep probably now
04:31and then cook some breakfast but eat it around 2 p.m. try to stay as close as possible to a bed and not
04:40move around that's a perfect Sunday for me this morning I went for breakfast and I bumped into Gwendolyn
04:46Christie who is the person you want to bump into at breakfast um she's so full of joy and exuberance
04:55we have breakfast together and I could have stayed there all day keep them talking just keep fucking
05:00going what else we got
