Transcript
00:00back in 2014 jeffrey deaver published a james bond one-off novel called carte blanche and he
00:05had said in an interview sean connery is my favorite but if carte blanche ever gets made
00:09guy pierce he looks more like the bond in my mind more than anyone else and he has the presence
00:15did you did that moment ever lead first of all were you aware of that moment and then
00:20if you were did that moment ever lead to you and your reps sort of trying to pursue that
00:24i wasn't aware of that moment no um there was a little chat uh not nothing official uh uh um
00:34knowing that the that it was sort of the role was kind of opening up and would that be something that
00:39i would you know and funnily enough you know that all sort of came i guess during that time that i
00:45was kind of being open to more things but i suppose and i you know it wasn't anything serious enough
00:50that i either pursued or had to sort of resist pursuing it was sort of just a whim of a kind
00:56of an idea to even think about uh so it didn't you know there was no real substance to having to
01:02think about it much um but if i was to think about it i think i probably i would i mean if if it was a
01:12one-off then that would be one thing but to play a repeat role having done all the television that
01:17i've done in australia particularly where i've played the same role for four years on one show
01:21and the same role for four years on another show i mean i did play jack irish on and off but they
01:25were sort of almost telemovies you know one-off type things um but the idea of becoming someone
01:33like james bond or you know i just i don't know i'm thankfully i've passed the point now so i don't
01:37have to think about it
