00:01They had five people all week trying to save this fish.

00:06We had a big cyclone here, the big waves washed him into the pool.

00:11He had to be saved or he was going to die.

00:15There's nothing in there friggin' to eat.

00:18It's getting worse.

00:19If I see an animal hurt or injured or in trouble, I need to save him.

00:30I'm talking to him and saying, it's all right, you know, I'm here to help you, and he scrams straight into the net.

00:37It was an unbelievable experience.

00:42I was able to save him.

00:44I just felt very privileged and very in touch with the ocean.

00:49And they're very, very friendly fish.

00:52They are like a puppy dog of the ocean.

00:58At the time, I was really focused on getting him out of the pool and then across the rocks and back into the ocean where he could swim.

01:08I felt amazing because I'm pumped full of adrenaline and I just felt ecstatic and appreciative and humbled and grateful.

01:20I just felt a real connection then.

01:25I'm kneeling down on the rocks, releasing him into the ocean.

01:31And then he literally just swam quietly off.

01:35I knew he was alive and I knew he was okay.

01:41This is the amazing bit.

01:43The next morning when I went for a surf, he was there.

01:46I would like to think he swam up to say thank you.

01:50To see him the next day was an unbelievable experience.
