00:08The Marcus government says it will provide protection to drug war victims
00:18who will be appearing before the International Criminal Court as witnesses against Rodrigo Duterte.
00:23Kaloakan residents turned to a Facebook meme page to complain about their city.
00:27Her father did it too. Palace press officer Claire Castro claps back at Vice President Sara Duterte
00:32who criticized President Marcos for attending a drug incineration event.
00:37Donald Trump says the end of the war in Iran is a victory for everybody.
00:41And Alex Ayala beats former French Open champion Yelena Ostenpenko to reach the Eastburn quarterfinals.
00:49The Marcus administration is providing protection and support to witnesses in the International Criminal Court case
00:55of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
00:57Justice Secretary Boing Remulia says the witnesses will be admitted into the country's witness protection program
01:03to bring them safely to The Hague.
01:05This is the Marcus government's strongest statement so far in terms of cooperation with the ICC.
01:10When Duterte was arrested, the Marcus administration justified its cooperation
01:14by saying it is simply upholding its commitment to the Interpol.
01:18The Philippines is no longer an ICC member state.
01:20Meantime, Remulia says he doesn't think Duterte's request for interim release is appropriate.
01:25He says in an interview with ABS-CBN's ANC,
01:28quote,
01:29There may be more harm than good that will come out of it if that request is granted by the court.
01:34Victims of Duterte's drug war officially oppose the bid,
01:37noting his release from detention will expose them to danger.
01:41They also say that humanitarian considerations,
01:43which Duterte invoked in his request,
01:45are not part of the reasons listed by the ICC
01:48that could justify an interim release.
01:52Some Caloacan residents found an ally in Facebook meme page
01:55follow the trend movement known as FTTM.
01:58This after re-elected Caloacan Mayor Dale Along Malapitan
02:02actively responded to FTTM's posts about the concerns of Caloacan residents.
02:07In May, FTTM shared a street lighting project update from Malapitan's Facebook page.
02:12It jokingly attributed the street's brightness to the camera's ISO settings,
02:16merely being increased from ISO 100 to ISO 1600.
02:20One social media user joked the mayor was flexing the bare minimum.
02:24Malapitan responded after the post went viral,
02:26saying the brightness was brought about by the streetlights and no adjustments.
02:30FTTM replied in a separate post telling the mayor,
02:34pay attention to your constituents' grievances, not our memes.
02:38The same day, FTTM asked the mayor about a photo showing a signage
02:42for a flood control project in a flooded area in Caloacan.
02:45The signage had the word wall misspelled.
02:48A user commented how the politicians didn't forget to place their photos in the sign,
02:52but were remiss in checking for spelling errors.
02:54In early June, FTTM called out Malapitan's post about a creek cleanup operation,
02:59with the before and after photos supposedly having the same timestamp.
03:03The mayor deleted the post shortly after with no explanation.
03:07One user said, quote,
03:08Let's report all our grievances directly to FTTM.
03:12The mayor has been paying a lot of attention to the comments here.
03:16Her father did it too.
03:18Palace press officer Claire Castro claps back at Vice President Sara Duterte,
03:22who criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for attending a drug incineration event.
03:51Marcos oversaw the incineration of 9.48 billion pesos worth of illegal drugs in Capasterlak Wednesday, June 25.
03:58Castro notes the president's work should not be hidden and should be visible to the people.
04:22Holding up a broadsheet from 2020, Castro reminds the Vice President,
04:26her father, Rodrigo Duterte, also oversaw the incineration of illegal drugs when he was president.
04:34United States President Donald Trump says his move to join Israel's attacks in Iran ended the war,
04:40calling it a victory for everybody.
04:42This despite the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency's initial assessment,
04:46saying Iran's path to building a nuclear weapon may have been only set back by months.
04:50Israel's own nuclear agency released an assessment,
04:53saying the strikes had, quote,
04:55set back Iran's ability to develop nuclear weapons by many years.
04:59The White House also circulated the Israeli statement.
05:02Trump adds he is confident Tehran would not try to rebuild its nuclear sites
05:05and would instead pursue a diplomatic path.
05:08Israel's bombing campaign wiped out Iran's top military leadership
05:12and killed its leading nuclear scientists.
05:15Iranian authorities said 610 people were killed and nearly 5,000 injured in Iran,
05:19where the extent of the damage could not be independently confirmed.
05:23Meanwhile, 28 people were killed in Israel due to Iranian counterattacks.
05:29Alex Ayala has proven twice that she can beat top 100 players.
05:33She has also shown twice that she can bounce back after losing the first set
05:37and still win against higher-ranked opponents.
05:39After losing in the first set, Ayala came back strong in the last two sets
05:43to defeat third seed and former French Open champion Jelena Ostenpenko of Latvia
05:480-6, 6-2, 3-2, in the second round of the WTA 150
05:53Plexus Eastburn Open on Wednesday, June 25.
05:57The match ended early during the fifth game of the third set, with Ayala serving.
06:01Ostenpenko, who had already taken two medical timeouts to check her ankle,
06:05told the umpire she could not continue.
06:07With this win, the 20-year-old Filipina beat Ostenpenko again,
06:11after also defeating the 28-year-old Latvian in straight sets at the Miami Open last March.
06:16In the quarterfinals, Ayala will play against either Dayane Yastremsk of Ukraine,
06:20a 2024 Australian Open semi-finalist, or British wildcard Francesca Jones.
