00:00As to your question about the scenario that we're talking about, Israel, Iran and America,
00:12in South Africa obviously there has been a tremendous amount of interest in our country
00:17because of South Africa's participation in the ICJ in taking Israel to the international court
00:25on the issue of the genocide in Gaza.
00:29So South Africa was watching this very closely.
00:32We also came under focus when our president visited President Trump
00:37and we all remember that particular live television scenario
00:41where Trump tried to humiliate President Ramaphosa.
00:46But nonetheless, the response in the streets of South Africa is that people have been shocked,
00:54hoping for peace, and overall the sentiment has been that everybody wants there to be peace.
01:02Nobody, as we know, enjoys conflict.
01:05And in South Africa, having survived the anti-apartheid struggle and all of that,
01:10it's easy for us to sympathize with these particular scenarios.
01:14Generally speaking, people were very interested to see Israel being hit by Iran
01:23and I think that is what changed a lot of perceptions in South Africa
01:27is that people saw that for the first time ever historically
01:32that a nation was hitting back at Israel after what was essentially a rogue state
01:40that conducted a surprise attack on a sovereign state, which was Iran.
01:46And generally speaking, people in South Africa saw it, number one,
01:50on a political basis and number two, on a moral and ethical basis.
01:56If you are a country, you can't simply go and bomb another country
02:01to talk to East relationship with the seven states.
