Tessa Fowlers einst vielversprechende Karriere als Dokumentarfilmerin liegt am Boden und so zieht sie sich in eine kleine Stadt in den Bergen zurück, wo es keine Handys und keine Internetverbindung gibt, um in Ruhe zu sich zurückzufinden. Doch eben dort findet sie eine Reihe alter VHS-Tapes und auf einem Tape sieht man einen Mord. Schon steckt Tessa wieder mitten in Ermittlungen.
