BBC racing commentator John Hunt has spoken for the first time since the murder of his wife and two daughters, in July last year.John and his daughter Amy told the BBC the love of their family has helped to sustain them through their trauma and grief. They say they took the decision to talk publicly now because they did not want their loved ones to be defined by their deaths. They also feel much of the initial reporting after the murders was inaccurate and it added to their pain.

00:00The moment I wake up I say good morning to each of them. Do you? I talk to them all
00:03every day sometimes especially if there's stuff going on I sometimes say
00:10out loud I say Hannah and Louise look girls sorry I can't be with you I'm
00:14with I'm with your mum at the moment so so yeah and then as I close my eyes at
00:21night I chat to them as well so yeah very close all the time. Always yeah and
00:28it's you know it's the three of them generally I wish everyone could see now
00:35but they were the best of us you know they were you know I wish you could see
00:42them and know and wish people could know them because the world is a much
00:47emptier place without them when you love someone so much and you and they love you so much you know
00:53um death death can't take that
01:10He never once hit her he was in the house an awful lot in the 18 months I never heard Ray's voices once
01:18there were no obvious alarms that were ever ever rung
01:24Can I ask you was there anything in his behaviour bearing in mind what you've already told us
01:32was there anything in his behaviour that suggested he could have been capable of what was to come
01:38No we were under no illusions at the end that Kyle Clifford was not that nice of a person
01:47um you know
01:50I want to put it very bluntly now um did we have any indication that this man was capable of
01:59stabbing my mother tying Louise up raping Louise shooting Louise and shooting Hannah absolutely not
02:12absolutely not he's often been referred to as crossbow killer crossbow maniac
02:21and I think that takes away from the very real issue that we now know to be true
02:24having known this person is that he was just a person he was just a person he was just a man
